Seems like Wordpress has a ton of possibility and is much cheaper - but I don't want to do all that work if it is not as strong for SEO purposes -
I like to use CMS made simple typically because it is exactly what it claims: simple
Advise me please - and then let me know who you think might be able to help me build the best professional site? company or individual?
thanks

Sure, if you have a developer that can set it up with a nice design, WP is also good from an seo standpoint!

Wordpress is SEO wizard's dream. It is at its core a content publishing system and all great SEO is highly focused on content and great platform to create, setup, display, archive, and categorize it.
Like Devanur said, the plugins and more importantly the vast community supporting and running it generally understands SEO well. Various plugins allow vast number of customization's and tweaks to SEO. To allow a holistic approach to cover most if not all foundational on-page SEO needs.
Hope this helps, also if you have any specifics about this feel free to ask as well, or dive in to Wordpress and never look back

Hi Ben,
No doubt, Wordpress can be a great platform from an SEO standpoint. With so many good plugins and other customization options available, you should be able to build a very web property that will not only look great but also aids in better SEO. For all SEO purposes and many other reasons, Wordpress has been my personal choice for many years when it comes to building a simple website or a complex ecommerce site. I never had to regret with the choice.
Those were my two cents.
Best,
Devanur Rafi.

Page Ranking by URL / Keyword
Needing to know how to find out the page rank of a URL that is NOT within the top 50 or top 100. Need to know that specific page's rank, not what our overall site's ranking for the keyword is. Can't seem to find any tool that goes beyond the top 100. Any ideas?

Does anyone know why some keyword rankings go from nowhere in the top 50 to ranking 1st to then nowhere in the top 50 in the space of 3 weeks?
SEOMOZ told me to ask the question here because they say their ranking programme now works correctly and the problems I was having before with keywords changing so dramatically, even though nothing had been changed with regards to optmisation, is now to do with google rather than their ranking tool do google really change their algorithms on a weekly basis so that rankings can go up by more than 50 to ranking 1st to then going down by more than 50? Any hints or tips from anyone on I can keep the rankings more consistent (maybe dropping or increasing by one or two places week by week rather than changing by over 50 positions?)

Historical data in rank report not matching summary?
I got a new rank report today. For a lot of keywords in Yahoo and Bing it is saying things like >49 etc. When I hover over it, it tells me that these are new keywords for me that I didn't rank for before. When I look at the historical graph for those specific engines though it just shows me going back at the same position historically. For example like position 17 going back many months without change. Can anyone tell me what is up with that?

Rank Tracker Logging Me #Out
Hi I was wondering if someone could help me with something? Whenever I try and use the rank tracker SEOmoz logs me out and won't let me log back in until I go to a different page. Is this because I am on a free trial (which I don't understand as I am able to use the other tools)

Duplicate Content Issues with WordPress
I'm having some difficulty with a few of the sites I'm managing right now. When I run a report here, I'm getting a duplicate content issue with sites that I'm running through WordPress. Sites running on a different CMS are not getting the issue. The duplicate content is being listed as from two URL's that are identical. I checked trailing slash, spelling, capitalization, everything. It looks like the same site is being marked as two with duplicate content. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this and/or what I may be able to do to resolve the issue (or if it's really something to worry about or not)? Thanks. (and thanks for helping the new guy!)

Is the SEOMoz Rank Tracker still accurate?
I monitor several keywords on several domains and i have found that rank tracker gives me one result yet when searching via Google myself (on different machines) i get a different result. I've tried several devices on different networks so there is no chance that Google is remembering my searches as such and i ensure that i am always signed out of my account. All devices provide the same results yet Rank Tracker provides a completely different result. It's as though Rank Tracker is a day ahead or something. Can anyone shed any light for me please?

On-Page Keyword Optimization Question
First let me say I want to improve the text of the site I am working on focusing on the site visitor in the first instance. I run the "On-Page Keyword Optimization" The page fails on "Avoid Keyword Stuffing in Document... ...Occurrences of Keyword 48" well over the limit of 15. The occurrence include those in the site navigation and strapline, but it was my understanding that Google was aware of nav areas/areas common to most other pages on the site and that keywords in these areas weren't viewed as being part of the page content. The keyword is the main keyword for the company, and the page is the home page i.e. "acme widgets" the others are "acme widgets for the home"... well you get the idea: The page breaks down as follows: 5 instances in primary nav 1 instance strapline 3 instances secondary nav Remainder in page body I am told by the tool to reduce to 15 instances, so should I? Have 9 instances in the nav and other areas and 6 or so on the page Have 9 instances in the nav and other areas and 15 or so on the page

What's with the new Q&A set up?
In the old Q&A set up your response was automatically given a thumbs up by you so that you got a mozpoint for every response you gave. Now you have to manually thumb up your responses. Why was this change made? Can we get it back to the way it was?
