Buona sera David,
Go Into Admin for the Profile You Want to Update
Click on Filters
Click on +New Filter
Select Create new Filter
Call it "Lowercase My URLs", or you can call it "Steve", or "Nigel", whatever you want, its a free text field. I find descriptive is usually better.
Select Custom Filter
Select Lowercase (this is a default filter that will take everything and change to lower case).
Filter Field should be set to Request URI
In case you think I am a liar, once you fill out the above a yellow section will appear, click the ? and it will display:
"Google Analytics is case sensitive, so it captures the data exactly as it appears in the location bar of the browser. Therefore, if a mixed case URL is in the browser, it will be captured and displayed as mixed case within your Google Analytics reports. You can use the lowercase filter to change URLs like '/Thankyou.html' and '/ThankYou.html' into one unified URL in your reports: '/thankyou.html'. The uppercase filter can transform these same URLs into '/THANKYOU.HTML'."
Click Save
Note that when you look at your filters in GA, they run in order from top to bottom. So, look at your other filters and see if any would conflict etc to make sure you put in the right order. Once you view filters, you can click the button Assign Filter Order to move them around. You will probably be fine, but you dont want to shoot yourself in the head either.

Buongiorno Clever,
Regarding: are you asking about a filter in GA to do this so your reports in GA are all consistent?
Yes please, this is excactly what I'd like to do (Not 301 redirect to correct camel case)
Grazie,
David -
Just to understand your question, do you want to setup your site with 301s so that it self corrects URLs from Camel case to all lower case or are you asking about a filter in GA to do this so your reports in GA are all consistent?
Thanks!

Moving an entire section of a website to a new URL
Hello there,
Reporting & Analytics | | CraigFairgrieve
I currently have a website that offers services to both domestic and business clients. Currently these are hosted on a single URL, then split out .com/business and .com/domestic We're going to be moving the .com/business structure and content to an entirely new URL which will be dedicated to only the business part of the business. This will also mean a change in the branding of the existing content as the new URL will come under the name of the parent company. My question is two fold: (1) What's the best way to go about this? (2) What would be the estimated effect on the traffic? Many thanks for your help in advance.0 -
Is having the same URL in several sitemaps a problem for google?
We have 30 sitemaps, one for each language version of our site. About 5000 pages per sitemap.
Reporting & Analytics | | lcourse
To get a better idea on which pages google is not indexing, I thought about quickly generating sitemaps by page cagetories to see if there are any patterns. Any problems if I submit now new additional sitemaps dividing all our pages by product page, considering that the same pages are already in our existing sitemaps we submitted in the search console. So having same URL in more than 1 sitemap would be a problem? As a side note, we observed when adding a sitemap index that google search console in its count of total indexed pages, now counts every page twice since we submitted both the sitemap index and the individual sitemaps, so search console does not recognize in count that sitemaps in sitemaps index are identical to the ones we submitted individually in search console.0 -
"index.htm" for all url's in google analytics
I don't have this issue with other wordpress websites, only this one website, and I don't know what's causing the issue: Google Analytics is adding an "index.htm" to every single page on the website. So it is tracking the pages, I see no errors - is it tracking the right page? When I click on the page link in a report, I naturally go to a "404 page not found" since the website address isn't "www.example.com/rewards/index.htm" - but instead the actual address would be:
Reporting & Analytics | | cceebar
"www.example.com/rewards/". I have navigated to View Settings in GA to insure "default page" is empty. Although adding anything else to this field does not effect the page url in analytics reports either. Could it be htaccess file - or a plugin effecting the htaccess file?_Cindy0 -
Help with GA Filters - IP Addresses
I'm having a hard time filtering out both of the IP addresses at our office. One is easy with regular expressions, but the other one does not seem to be working. Here are the two IP addresses: 2606:a000:4e2b:d500:61d9:9d4e:c539:ea86

174.99.90.148 I set up these two custom filters and neither worked for the longer IP address. 2606:a000:4e2b:d500:61d9:9d4e:c539:ea86|174.99.90.148
2606:a000:4e2b:d500:61d9:9d4e:c539:ea86|174.99.90.148 Would you please help steer me in the right direction? Thanks as always MOZ friends!0 -
How to filter many cities from Google analytics
I need to filter hundreds of cities from my traffic reports. I've been told that adding them all in this format: |Knutsford|Ripon|Cheadle Hulme|Congleton| and using the 'matching reg/exp from the drop down should do it... Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be working as I can still see cities like London in the results.... Any ideas?

Question on regular expression for filters on GA
Hi guys, I am creating profiles on some of the countries sites in my network, and have managed to establish the filter for tracking certain url patterns, for example: ^/japan-english- is tracking all my urls in the Japan site that start by japan-english great! however, it is not tracking the japanese instance of the urls. The pattern for the latter is : www.mysite.org/jp/japan-english I could then modify the filter to track the jp subfolder like this: ^/jp/japan-english- but it will then only track the urls on the /jp/ subfolder does anyone know the regex command for tracking the two url patters as follows: /jp/japan-english- & /japan-english- thanks in advance david

WMT tools - setting parameter for redirected URLs
Hi everybody. One of our clients has recently moved from one ecommerce platform to another. During the move, a huge number of URLs have been tidied up to remove dynamic parameters. The old URLs have been redirected to the new, tidy ones. My question is whether it's worth telling Google in the WMT URL parameters section not to index the parameters of the old URLs. Will this affect the redirects in any way? Thanks!

Does using Google URL Builder override original source in Google Analytics?
During a free trial on Tatango, we send daily emails to customers to give them advice, resources, etc. We started using Google URL Builder http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=55578 to create individual links in each of these emails, but when the customer purchases a subscription now, the source in GA isn't Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. they are all showing up as the source we created using the URL builder for each email. Does Google URL builder override the original source in Google Analytic?
