Domain authority dropped 4 points in a week!

I don't understand. I am continually blogging, optimizing, creating new landing pages, getting awesome inbound links... Traffic has even been up dramatically in the past two months. I checked the DA on Monday and it was 59 and today it is 55. What?? Help! http://www.howlatthemoon.com/

Thank you for clearing this i was searching about this issue. My DA also reduced 3 points. I see this happens to all my competitors and I am not the only one!

Considering the metrics that probably matter most to your business:
search revenue
leads
unique traffic
engagement
stickinessEverything else is something you will checkout in the line of your favorite coffee shop, and probably nothing you need to spend a lot (read: more than the time it takes to get coffee) on.

Jessy is right... check other signals like traffic, rankings and quality links if they are going as you want them to be then dont care much about DA!

If your traffic is up then forget about your DA. You are winning! If my traffic is climbing I don't care if my PR reads banana and my DA reads apple, I'm gonna shout it from the rooftops and go out for sushi! (not banana/apple sushi though cause yuck.)

MozCast doesn't use Domain Authority in its calculation.

If you would not mind shedding light on if Moz Cast reflects domain authority through Moz as well as Google algorithm fluctuations information?
Mozcast is a fantastic tool for keeping up on Google's algorithm updates and changes.

The index updated this week, for the first time in about six weeks. This can cause DA to change, especially since the index is a little smaller this month. Before worrying too much, check out your competitors and see how they compare to you, and if they've also decreased.

Domain Authority important if we pursue longtail non-competitive keywords?
Hi, We currently have a relatively low DA score of 26. We have been working to increase it but of course it takes time. We are starting to adapt our approach and rank for non-competitive, long-tail keywords. If our DA is very low, will this affect our longtail keyword ranking even though there is very little competition for those? Thanks

301 Redirect Only Home Page/Root Domain via Domain Registrar Only
Hi All, I am really concerned about doing a 301 redirect. This is my situation: Both Current and New Domain is registered with a local domain registrar (similar to GoDaddy but a local version) Current Domain: Servers are pointing to Wix servers and the website is built and hosted with Wix I would like to do a 301 redirect but would like to do it in the following way with a couple of factors to keep in mind: 99% of my link are only pointed to the home page/root domain only. Not to subdirectories. New Domain: I will register this with wix with a new plan but keep the exact sitemap and composition of current website and launch with new domain. Current Domain: I want to change server pointing to wix to point to local domain registrar servers. Then do a 301 redirect for only the home page/root domain to point to the new domain listed with wix. So 301 is done via local registrar and not via Wix. Another point to mention is it will also change from Http to Https as well as a name change. Your comments on the above will be greatly appreciated and as to whether there is risk in trying to do a 301 redirect as above. Doing it as above it also cheaper if I do the 301 via the wix platform I will need to register a full new premium plan and run it concurrently to the old plan whereas if I do it as mentioned above will only have the additional domain annual fee. When "pruning" old content, is it normal to see an drop in Domain Authority on Moz crawl report?
After reading several posts about the benefits of pruning old, irrelevant content, I went through a content audit exercise to kick off the year. The biggest category of changes so far has been to noindex + remove from sitemap a number of blog posts from 2015/2016 (which were very time-specific, i.e. software release details). I assigned many of the old posts a new canonical URL pointing to the parent category. I realize it'd be ideal to point to a more relevant/current blog post, but could this be where I've gone wrong? Another big change was to hide the old posts from the archive pages on the blog. Any advice/experience from anyone doing something similar much appreciated! 301 redirecting to anchor points
A client has just given me a list of redirect URLs as requested of them. However, they're wanting to redirect a bunch of pages to various anchor points within the same page. For example: /pages/about might redirect to: /pages/our-story#our-mission And: /pages/history might redirect to: /pages/our-story#history Is there any problem with this? I've never seen or been asked to redirect like this before.

Site re-design, full site domain A/B test, will we drop in rankings while leaking traffic
We are re-launching a client site that does very well in Google. The new site is on a www2 domain which we are going to send a controlled amount of traffic to, 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% to 100% over a 5 week period. This will lead to a reduction in traffic to the original domain. As I don't want to launch a competing domain the www2 site will not be indexed until 100% is reached. If Google sees the traffic numbers reducing over this period will we drop? This is the only part I am unsure of as the urls and site structure are the same apart from some new lower level pages which we will introduce in a controlled manner later? Any thoughts or experience of this type of re-launch would be much appreciated. Thanks Pete

Does posting multiple blog entries lower domain authority?
As we continue our content marketing efforts, and increase the frequency of posting to the blog, would this impact our domain authority? We are assuming that when you add new pages, their low authority contribute to decreasing the domain's authority. Is this the case? It might not hurt a big site like SEOmoz that's already in the 90's. What about a site in the 20-30 range?
