Google Disavow and Penalty lifted please help?
-
We disavowed 80% of our backlink profile due to our last SEO building cheap nasty links and filed a reconsideration requested (we had the Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links to http://www.xxx.co.uk penalty for a year from the 24th march 2012 but thought it best to clean up before round 2 – even though we had no real penalty and we dd some decent link building that moved us up).
We then received a successful penalty lifted note (on the 22nd of May 2013) but our rankings dropped (due to the crap links propping us up) since then we have built a fair few high quality links but our rankings do not seem to be moving much if at all (7 weeks clear now).
has anyone had any experience with the above (are we in a sandbox type situation).
Thank you for your time
Thanks Bob

If you disavowed 80% of your links, and many of them were being counted by Google prior to the penalty, then you should expect your rankings to drop substantially, even after the penalty is removed....because you simply have a fraction of the links you had before. Granted, the ones you disavowed were most likely very weak links, which is good.
But moving forwards, what you've got to do is build new, strong, non-spammy links. And expect this to take some time, too. From when you add a new link, it takes Google a while to discover that, then recalculate the PR that flows to your site from that link. At one point, that link juice recalculation seemed to me to be taking about a month; I suspect it's a little faster now. As well, I'm seeing indications with several clients' sites that there's an artificial delay of 3 to 6 months when major changes happen on a site...then, with no further changes made to the site, the rankings and traffic will inch up over a couple of months.
So my advice: be patient; you need to rebuild the links you've lost (with better quality sources, of course). And if you can create interesting, shareable content, leverage Facebook, G+ etc. to get your site visitors to help you build some of those links (and get real traffic from the shares) in the social sites.

I have 100+ Landing Pages I use for PPC... Does Google see this as a blog farm?
I am currently using about 50-100 domains for geotargeted landing pages for my PPC campaigns. All these pages basically have the same content, I believe are hosted on a single unique ip address and all have links back to my main url. I am not using these pages for SEO at all, as I know they will never achieve any significant SEO value. They are simply designed to generate a higher conversion rate for my PPC campaigns, because they are state and city domains. My question is, does google see this as a blog/link farm, and if so, what should I do about it? I don't want to lose any potential rankings they may be giving my site, if any at all, but if they are hurting my main urls SEO performance, then I want to know what I should do about it. any advice would be much appreciated!

What is the best way to eliminate ghost traffic from Google Analytics?
Hey Mozzers, I just wanted to see how you all deal with eliminating Google ghost traffic sources from Google. I tried setting up a RegEx 'include' list before, but it seemed as though I was blocking potential traffic sources when I did as much (I'm probably missing something here). Anyway, I'm interested to read how you all have dealt with this issue in the past, thanks for reading!

HOW!??! Homepage Ranking Dropped Completely out of Top 100 on Google....
So I'm competing for a very competitive keyword, and I've been on the bottom of page 2 for a while now, ranking for my homepage, which is very content rich and has GREAT links pointing to it. Out of nowhere, last week I dropped completely out of the top 100 or so, yet one of my article posts now ranks on page 6 or so for the same keyword. I have great authoritative links, my on-page is spot on, all of my articles are super super high quality, I don't understand how my homepage, which has ranked for the main keyword for months on page 2, can just completely drop out of the top 100 or so.... Can anyone help provide some insight?

HELP! My website has been penalized - what did I do wrong?
I have been working on a website Zing.co.nz and have made a sub domain blog.zing.co.nz. The website is for a company that is yet to launch, so I have been boosting traffic by writing blog posts about the topic (loans) on the subdomain. I pushed some traffic to the actual website too. We were climbing the rankings for our brand name but have all of a sudden started to drop. The domain authority was something like 0.9 and has dropped to 0.3. (Using SEO Spyglass) The blog was somewhere similar, but has dropped to 0.0!!! Please help in anyway you can. These changes have happened within the last 48 hours. Zing.co.nz Blog.zing.co.nz

Why should I reach out to webmasters before disavowing links?
Almost all the blogs, and Google themselves, tell us to reach out to webmasters and request the offending links be removed before using Google's Disavow tool. None of the blogs, nor Google, suggest why you "must" do this, it's time consuming and many webmasters don't care and don't act. Why is this a "required" thing to do?

Has my site been penalized by google
Hi all I have noticed a sudden drop in rankings for most of my keywords on kerryblu ,co,uk and was thinking the site may have been manually penalized by google. I have not received any notification of this in webmaster tools but can't think of any other reason for the loss of rankings. I have searched the web for info on this but can't find a definite answer. Is there any way of knowing for sure. At the time of the crash the only real change I made was adding google adsense to my blog. Could this be responsible. Thanks for looking.
