What to Post on Facebook for maximum traffic/likes
-
Hello,
I am just now starting on my facebook page for my personal development coaching website.
Here it is:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bob-Weikel-Associates/217292791620485
I have to be careful not to spam my collegues and friends with like requests. How do I get started gaining relevant traffic and likes?

I really liked your reply too Chris. Thank you.

Hi Bob,
It's not specifically related to Facebook pages, but this brought a smile to my face this morning:
Good luck with the new page.

Giveaways and prizes work the fastest, but to avoid the "almost spam" route, considering your career, I would push out daily motivational sayings, tips, and photos that people can then share. The more they share, the bigger Reach you have and the bigger the reach, the more people that see your message each day.
The most important thing is being consistent. It's easy to get disillusioned and discouraged when things move slow. My friend Simon T. Bailey is also a personal coach and very good at this. Check out his Facebook page to see how he does it at https://www.facebook.com/simon.t.bailey. It's a good battle plan.

Hi Bob,
There is actually some software in development that attempts to answer this question.
I'm on the waiting list and I'm excited to see what they offer.
Here are the things I do in order of importance to start building a following:
- Make sure my timelime, cover photo etc. are professional and interesting
- Develop a posting schedule and learn to measure the results (In FB insights you can get a picture of how many people are giving your posts negative feedback. This is your spam-o-meter.
- Experiment with FB advertising.
Hope this helps.
Jesse
p.s. Here is an FB page I built last month if you are interested in another example. http://www.facebook.com/hawaiiperformingartsfestival

Unique content is always your best bet. At the risk of giving a rather vague answer, the best way to get "likes" is to write content that people will like!
Think of a common question or problem that people have, and try to answer/solve it. Become a helpful resource, try not to just regurgitate advice that anyone can find in 5 seconds with a Google Search.
There isn't a lot of science behind it... you sort of have to work with trial and error. Learn your audience, learn what they like and what resonates with them. Over time you can refine it into a winning formula, but each niche has it's own group of people that need to buy in to make something successful.

Facebook Integration and Keyword Density
Hope everyone is doing well! Long story short, we have been getting a lot of customer testimonials. We started putting them on Facebook and then we decided to start adding more details into the articles section of the site. The problem is many of our customers do not go to the articles section or the FB page. We purchased a plugin to integrate most recent Facebook posts into our website. We were going to use it on our homepage as well as our top category pages. I always run content changes through the MOZ scoring utility. After integration into the home page it dropped my score from a 99 to a 91. The first issue is consistent.... to many links... the second issue we got Rand's WTH are you doing face with a warning that we are stuffing keywords.... Not our intent, but the FB posts do have keywords in them. So for now we are testing the integration on just our garage floor tile category page but I am wondering the following: 1. In general does this type of utility improve UX 2. Does Google make some concession for 'keyword stuffing' when it is because of social media posts being displayed on the page? 3. Given that we post daily, does the 'fresh content' outweigh the increased keyword density. We are ranking top 10 for several major national keywords and we don't want to screw that up. But we want to continue to improve our layout and UX

What's your preference - regurgitate content on social media or just post it the once?
Hi All, Not been on the forums for a while and this isn't really an SEO question. How do you feel about Twitter feeds that constantly regurgitate the same content. It's pretty much industry standard on most pages but if the content is yours, no affiliates or other people are involved - is it really necessary to plug the same 500 word blog post over and over? Personally, I don't like it. I think it looks spammy and unprofessional and in all honesty, I unfollow pages regularly because of it.. What do you guys think? Am I squandering content by not regurgitating? Happy Monday all - Jamie

Does a link in facebook count as a backlink?
Q: Does a link in a facebook post count as a backlink? Q: is it a 'do follow' or 'no follow' link? Q: twitter uses short links, so when someone links to me, do i get the points/juice from the backlink?

If you post on two Twitter accounts could be rated as duplicate content
I have a personal Twitter account which is building up, but I also have a Twitter account for my holiday letting agency and until now I’ve always separated the subject of the tweets and links to my websites but I’m using Buffer which automates your tweets in advance and so I included some of the links to my business holiday letting agency articles on my personal account and people seem to like them and have shared them, but is there any risks to doing that regarding duplicate type of content? At the end of the day some the people on my personal Twitter will be interested in my agency tweets about holiday accommodation, I just want to do anything which could be termed spam.

Anyone do SEO for facebook business pages? I'm having trouble with timeline layout.
I am working on my facebook business page and am frustrated with the new "timeline" facebook layout which really does not make sense as a business page. I have not found a way to change it to a traditional layout and have read some posts that said facebook does not allow you to go back from timeline. Does anyone have a good layout suggestions for a facebook business page with SEO in mind? Thanks.

Facebook likes - how can I tell how many likes a product page has?
Without actually going to each product page and looking at the number next to the 'Like' button, is there any way of finding a list of all your pages and the number of Facebook likes on each?
