Is this considered as Excessive Link Exchange?

Hi,
I have two similar websites hosted on the same hosting plan. However, they are on 2 different IP addresses. The last 3 digits differ.
Site A: 120.30.30.150
Site B: 120:30.30.151
The problem is that I have significant drops in rankings since the first site A linked to site B. The links were 2000 submitted all at once because of site A's structure. Later, I put no follow attribute in order to tell Google "please don't count those".
I keep doing link building for the second website from mostly articles and still see up and downturns which are too big (10-12 positions back).
Is it possible that somehow Google still considers links form the first site to the second site as excessive link exchange? I clearly cannot find any other logical reason for these drops. I don't do forum, blog comments spam, I regularly check webmaster tools for messages about unnatural links, I do article posting.
I will highly appreciate any opinion on the matter.

Yes, 100% agree Irving comment about the IP's (same network), also google looks the domain registration owner to determine if both sites comming from the same person or company.

yea this is a no brainer for google to make a connection
Site A: 120.30.30.150
Site B: 120:30.30.151
Article posting to places like ezines is no longer recommended and can get you penalized, also could be onpage factors or duplicate content issues between the two sites, there could be a lot of reasons, would need to see the actual sites though in order to determine.

You're looking as a link schema from google point of view, you should remove all links between A and B, google nows both sites (domains) are owned by the same person.

Hi, Please can someone remind me how links in display ads are perceived by G ? A client of mine has purchased a display campaign with an industry related on-line publication that has lead to a massive spike in reported back links in Google Search Console (the new GWT). Does Google automatically identify these as ads (due to tracker codes etc) rather than paid backlinks or should they, like links in press releases, be no-followed or other advice ? Cheers Dan

Manual Links Vs. Smart Links
Hey Everybody, Is there any downside to the smart link plugins that I see all over wordpress? Basically in short I enter a keyword and where I want that link to go (primarily internal) and set the parameters of repetition etc and it automatically adds the link to that. Now other than the obvious situation where it might put a link in an awkward place, is there anything wrong with this sort of software? Part of me things that this sort of software would not be liked by Google, and that it isn't really getting counted as a true link, but i wanted to see if there were other thoughts or experience with this.

What would you do about dead inbound links?
Hey guys, I recently asked a question similar to this, but wanted to spark up a bit of a discussion around it to see what everyone's feelings were on it. The web is always changing - as we're all too aware - so links you may have obtained (by however means) let's say 2 years ago may not be 'active' now. By that I mean you may have had a link from "example_-website.com" in 2010 and now "example-_website.com" is no longer an active website - but still shows a parked domain. The thing is... this parked domain is still cropping up in OSE, suggesting that Google may still believe there's a link there - and may not have re-crawled that site to prove otherwise. The issue I've had with this is an SEO company built links to the sites I'm working on now (one of the sites has been penalised as a result of their link building). These links aren't 'active' anymore and when viewed on OSE, they just head straight to a parked domain with no visible (or in-source) link to my site. What are everyone's feelings on this? What would you all do? I'm in two minds whether to re-write a section of the website.... but I'm swaying towards creating better content and NOT re-directing the old URLs to it (just contact the decent links and ask for a change of link). How to recover from bad links?
I come to know about this blog post by recent blog post on Penguins, Pandas, and Panic at the Zoo! I have very good experience with example number 6. Honestly, It's working without any issue towards performance and ranking. But, I have very critical issue after implementation. I bought new home but, I have to hang Sign board with my old address. 🙂 I want to give live example with Google search result. I have removed my old website and set 301 to new category page due to duplication issue. Honestly, Who will like to mesh up performance in panda update? There are 56,311 links & 551 source domains pointing to my old home page. Just see this one! I'm creating quality links to my new category page where 301 redirect set from old home page to category page. I have big mind bubble about display of URL in search result. Why Google shows old home page URL in search result? Does it require to create 56,311 + 1 links or 551 + 1 source domains to get appear my new address?

Link exchange Trick?
As a lot of you people doing link building may have encountered most people we approach want a link exchange Ex: "I am willing to put a link on my site if you put one on yours." Now the question I had from this ... if I link to a specific website with rel="nofollow" and they link to me normally. Would it be of any value or because the 2 websites link to each other regardless of follow or nofollow the links have no value?

How to improve (ASAP) the linking root domain, the followed linking root domains and the linking C-Blocks? Linkbuilding (or whatever) techniques.
I have a small site (.com) like any website in my sector. 30-90 pages. I have no crawls errors. Everythings is fine, just I need to improve my linking root domain, the followed linking root domain and the linking C-Blocks. Example: my competitors have 300 (one of them have 1300) of total links. I have 30. Anyone know some good strategies? techniques? tips? I just dont want to be in a farm directory, I want free links. I'm already running two strategies but it works so slowly. I want something faster at this moment. Also, any recommendation will be thankful.
