Exact keyword vs connecting words.
-
Hi guys, I'm wondering if there's a huge difference between exact keywords vs connecting words. i.e. "limo service chicago" vs " limo service in chicago" or something similar. It's tough to have 4+ keywords on a page sound great without using some form of connecting word. Will google still rank the page as high if I use connection words in a few instances of the keyword? Or should I just leave the exact keyword fir all instances. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, I decided to use both and it's working great. Reads better too.

Hi Aron,
This is a matter of dilution in your title, I think that density of the title still matters but not when talking about preposition, if my title stays in the 70 words limit I'll stick with the grammar proof title but if you need to save space a preposition may go out. Consider that you may want to rank high for both the keyword with and without the preposition, however my assumption is for new sites when you have to kick off the site.
If you're already ranking in top3 I won't risk lowering my rankings by changing the title tag, also because tweak the title without any other effective change in the page would give google signals of seo tactics which won't help you at all.
If you're ranking good then let the title as it is. Winning team doesn't change

Hi Aron
Historically, every word has counted, so any extra "connecting" type words were discouraged by SEOers, but I don't think these days that the main search engines care so much, especially with a shorter phrase as in your example.

Keyword ranking for different page than the page optimized
I have optimized "equipment trailer for rent" on this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-deckover. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why Google has chosen to rank the keyword phrase for this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-24 This is just one example. It has happened on several of my pages / keywords.

Would you consider this title to be keyword stuffing or bad?
A competitor uses the following format for all of their meta titles: [Store Name] Voucher Codes, Cashback & Discount Codes | [Website Name] They do vary their titles slightly, depending on which keywords are searched for, for the particular store. What do you think about this title? I'm torn between it looking a little 'stuffy' but them also getting across the point that their page offers all of that.

Avoiding keyword stuffing and self cannibalization
Hi, I am creating an e-commerce website and will obviously have a number of category pages i.e. T-Shirts. Each category then has a number of products with the word t-shirt mentioned in the name i.e. red t-shirt, blue t-shirt. Now obviously I would like to search engine the category page with the keyword t-shirt but how do I go about avoiding keyword stuffing as well as self-cannibalization?

My Domain Name - short vs relevant
I'm creating a website for my new web design company in Vancouver. I'm looking to target such keywords as "Web Design Vancouver", etc. I have another company with a hyphenated domain name which is terrible when I'm on the phone and my client asks me for my domain (hard to say, always spelling it out). Also I wanted to have a good snappy name for my new business so I found a 6 letter .com and matching .ca for my company. My question is: is it best to use a short domain name or is it better have my keywords in the domain name? eg. xyz.com vs xyzvancouverwebdesign.com Thanks
