Rep Management with Google+ > Help Needed

My client, Pareto Law, have set themselves up with a Google Local Business listing:
https://plus.google.com/+paretolaw, and when searching for the Pareto Law brand this page appears a bit like a site-link under the main search result.I've noticed that other companies, such as moz.com, have their G+ page ranking seperately on page 1 of the SERPs. This is especially important for my client, as we're trying to push down other sites rankings for our brand. In an ideal world I'd want only their twitter, G+, linkedin, & facebook pages ranking amongst wikipedia entries and the like, as opposed to forums discussing my client.
The question is, are Pareto Law able to set themselves up with a G+ business page as well as the G+ local listing page they presently have. Is that an acceptable setup, or are you supposed to have just one or the other? I'm struggling to differentiate between the 2.

Hi Matt,
I recommend you read this recent post from Mike Blumenthal at LocalU:

I haven't seen G+ bundle like that personally, so I am not sure whether you can "unbundle" or how to go about it in this situation. People to check with are Andrew Shotland ( @LocalSEOGuide ) and David Mihm (@DavidMihm)- two of the top experts in local optimization.

Still struggling with this one! The article you sent seems to be comparing an old school Google+ Places page with the newer Google+ Local pages? The confusion I am having is over the difference between a Google+ Profile and a Google+ Local Business Page.
Here are examples of what I understand to be the Moz.com G+ Profile, and what seems to be their G+ Local Business Page:
Moz.com G+ Profile: https://plus.google.com/+SEOmoz
Moz.com G+ Local Business Page: https://plus.google.com/101479834534380514124
These pages serve both purposes well, with the Local Business Page appearing in Google Maps, and the Profile getting it's own listing in the SERPs when searching for the Moz brand. Why then does my clients G+ Local Business Page seem to be an amalgamation of both?
Pareto G+ Local Business Page: https://plus.google.com/+paretolaw
This page appears in Google Maps, but is also listed as their G+ page as a sitelink under their branded search listing. Their local business page has all of the Google Places stuff in it, but also has circles, followers, posts etc.
Can I go ahead and create a seperate G+ Profile for them, or have they somehow combined the 2 already? If they've combined the two then creating another account will be really confusing for people. Which one would they follow? My client has hundreds of employees and clients, and I want them all to interlink and promote the various social media profiles to help them rank. However, trying to get their G+ local business listing to rank seems futile as Google has just bundled it into their P1 listing as a sitelink, and that isn't going to push the other sites down the rankings.

There are differences and similarities to the two types of G+ offerings. A very helpful article about the differences and the values was posted by Amanda DiSilvestro a while back on SEW.
It is very helpful in this situation to have both set up. The reality however in an ORM situation is that "just setting these up" does not mean you will get the results you are seeking.
It takes a comprehensive effort to generate enough depth of trust and authority to get all of these channels ranking high enough to get the results you are hoping for.
And quite often, even then, if those forum sites are generally strong overall, it will be even more difficult a task. ORM that is reactive can be overwhelmingly tedious and time / resource consuming.
A better approach to reactive ORM is to create multiple sites as well as have each of the social channels properly optimized. However you need to be EXTREMELY careful in how you do that if you are to succeed and not just garner more problems. You can read about the core concepts of that approach if you go to an answer I posted this morning on another Moz question - all about multiple sites - the benefits, pitfalls... where in my answer I describe different scenarios that you can definitely apply to a law firm. (I've done several audits for law firms needing reactive ORM).

How Google decide reading time of a page?
Dear friends, I have a question. How google decide bounce rate? For an example- I open a website through organic keyword from Google. Now I have tab of landing page in browser I do not close this tab for 10 minutes and continue doing my other things after some time I come back on that tab and close. Can Google know? This page has been read till 10 minutes. Can Google decide the bounce rate for this session? If I do some click boost for my negative reviews can I do same thing in my website? Is it useful? If I open one tab and come back after one day than what happen? Silly question but confusing me so please help me. I will be very grateful to you! Thanks all

Looking to hire an SEO/Reputation manager
We are looking to hire an SEO/reputation manager or firm to complement our existing marketing efforts. The goal is to take up the front page of Google on 3 branded keywords. We will create the content but need someone to come up with the strategy on what content to create, where to post it and how to link to get it moved to the front page of Google. We went through MOZ's recommended list of service providers but would rather work with an individual freelancer than a large SEO company. Please advice where we can find such consultant or email vitaly@newpeakmedia.com to apply. Include your experience and some samples of projects you have worked on. ################## UPDATE ################# Here's the keywords' difficulty based on MOZ's serp analysis tool and top 10 ranking pages for the first term http://i.imgur.com/zqktjuU.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LB7i4yz.jpg

Doing two Google Local Listings for the Same Business
So I have a question. I'm working on an auto dealer's website and we're trying to gear their service center toward the general public (rather than just one brand - IE Honda, GMC, Buick). We have created a subdomain for the service page, and I was wondering if we could create a unique Google Plus page for it, in an effort to help its rank. Since the auto service center is on site at the dealership, I did not know if this would hurt us. Does anyone have experience dealing with this issue? Thank you!

Change Primary Image on Google+Local
My old logo did not fit well in the new Google+Local page and so I resized it and uploaded it a couple weeks ago using the Google Places admin tool. I have tried it on multiple locations but it does not show up on the actual Google+ page. The images do show up in the admin tool (so it wasn't that the logo didn't upload properly). I changed the description text to see if any changes were going through and those appeared after about 24 hours. Anyone been able to successfully upload new images to Google+Local?

Strategies for getting more listings on first of google
We have a client who is looking to increase the number of results on page 1 of google for their brand name to essentially force some historical negative comments off page 1 of google. I am thinking of things like a twitter page, Facebook page, YouTube page etc. plus optimising their site to try and get multiple pages on page 1. Does any one have experience of doing the same sort of thing?

Yelp Reviews and Google + reviews
After reading this SEOmoz thread http://www.seomoz.org/q/getting-reviews-to-stick-on-yelp-google I have learned that one cannot leave fake reviews because Google and yelp can see if the users are real by the user behavior. If one of your clients is happy with your service and they have never left a Google review or yelp review and you have them leave your company a review it will be filtered and not count. Google’s +1 is fairly new and I am not sure if many users use it. IMO a user is much more likely to Facebook "Like" something. Same goes for Yelp, I feel like many local services don’t have a high enough search volume to benefit from these areas. If a company cannot have a satisfied customer leave a review on Google + or Yelp because they are not active enough on these networks, the company does not receive the credit they deserve. I'm assuming SEOmoz has the contacts to make a change, well here is my idea: How about Yelp and Google + send a letter to the address of the review... (Same as a Google places listing, reviewer will receive letter and enter a pin number online to confirm review) this solves the issue and businesses can receive the credit they deserve. In all fairness if a company does right by someone, the company deserves the review, right? Otherwise this should not be a ranking factor IMHO!

One Page desapeared from Google results over the weekend.
Has anyone had this happen? My page (just one page) is gone from the search results. Not only did we lose our position in Google (we were #9) now the entire page is completely gone from Google index. However, It is on the first page of Bing and Yahoo. We did have our server down from Friday to Monday. I went into Google webmaster tools on Monday and saw a big X next to sitemap. It said HTTP Error 404 detected on August 21, 2011. So Google went in on Sunday and came up with the error. But why only one page is missing and all the other pages still show up? I was thinking that page was blacklisted by Google but when I went to Webmaster Tools to listen to "Requesting reconsideration of your site" video all they talk about is the "site" being blacklisted not a particular page. Any one has any ideas?
