Did Andrew ever provide a link to an example "Keyword Targeting Report" spread?
Thanks!
-
Awesome - thank you so much!!
-
Andy got back to me, and you can find the examples here. Enjoy!
-
Yes, I'm the impatient one - I saw the Twitter reach out in the meantime as well. Sorry about going multichannel, but I had forgotten how incredibly responsive you Mozzers are!
Thanks to both of you for working on this.
-
Hi Rich,
Not that I know of. Were you the person who tweeted at us this am about it? I've reached out to Andy. Thanks!
-
Got it. Will ping a staffer for you. Thanks for clarifying.
-
Thanks for responding. Yes, in response to the first question in the Q&A portion of the presentation he mentioned that he would provide a working example of the report, and I believe tweet it to @Moz. I have not found it - just wondered if I missed it.
-
Do you mean in addition to the screen cap of the keyword targeting report in his PPT (slide 72)?

Tools for Documenting and Monitoring Link Structure
The sites I work with all have increasingly published more and more content. In order to maximize the potential and "link juice" of every post and the site, we are linking the post to other relevant internal posts. What I want to ask though is if the community here has any tips or recommendations as a way to monitor and track this. The reason being that I don't want to just go in guns blazing and link all over the place. I want to keep and maintain link structure, even on a content level. For now, I've been using pencil and paper and assigning numbers to keep structure. However, with so many posts and so many links within each post, I'm starting to notice that maybe this is a little impractical. Are there any recommendations?

Should I disavow spammy links that are showing in Open Site Explorer but not showing in Google Webmaster Tools?
Howdy Mozzers, After carrying out a backlink audit for a client, Open Site Explorer shows a range of outrageously spammy links for guys wanting a bit of assistance in the bedroom area, and so on. Hopping over to Google Webmaster Tools, there is no reported trace of said spammy links (for either of the www/non-www versions of the site). There are also no manual webspam actions found on the www/non-www Google Webmaster Tools accounts for this website. So my question is: do I carry out a pre-emptive strike and go down the disavow process of requesting removal from the spammy sites, and then submit a disavow request to Google after allowing a suitable period of time for the junky/compromised website to (not) respond? Or do I just leave it alone? Thanks in advance for your wise words of wisdom and pearls of clarity.

Content Marketing and how it effects Rankings
Hi there everyone! I have what I think is a simple question, but one I can't fully understand the answer to. If I had a homepage that I wanted to optimize for the keyword, e.g. "Second Hand Cars", so I add the keyword in the page title and text etc etc. But I still don't rank well for it. So I turn to content marketing and create some content on my site's blog about new cars, sports cars, and of course second hand cars, with some great content and anchor text pointing back to the home page. Now here's my question, how does creating that content on a blog, or on someone's blog/website help my homepage rank higher for my chosen keyword? Surely it would just help the blog post rank higher? And if someone were to search for "Buy Secondhand cars", wouldn't my hypothetical blog post (with more shares and links than my home page) rank higher than the home page itself? If anyone can clear this up for me I'd be eternally grateful! Thanks in advance Cheers

Help with outreach emails for content marketing
Hello, Could I get some feedback on how to make a good outreach email? I'm using buzzstream and Rand's awesome whiteboard friday. Here's what I've put together: Hi [first name] have you seen this [our niche] article? Paragraph 1 (short paragraph) comments on what the person is involved in, and ask them how these things are going Paragraph 2 (short paragraph) talks about how I've shared and retweeted their recent important posts. Paragraph 3 (short paragraph) Asks if they would link to our article. This niche article is really useful and needed to these people. Paragraph 4 (short paragraph) I'm not sure how to reasearch and put something interesting here. [my name] co-owner [our website]

Tool based websites after Panda and Penguin
I have several sites that I classify as "tool" based sites. These type of sites includes anagram solvers for word games, ip address lookups and other various based tools. I like to specialize in these kind of sites because frankly I am not a blogger and hate to write. Before Panda I was doing fairly well, I had many users coming to my sites everyday. The Panda update "tips" that I read all over including on google sites seems to always refer to articles and how to deal with those. The only problem is that I am not an article based site. Yes I have content that describes my tools, but we are talking 1 to at most 2 paragraphs per page. I know Panda effected my ratings because I lost ranking with some big keywords. Since then I have been able to gain some ground, but I am having a hard time trying to figure out what exactly google wants from a site like me. The main path I am getting from Panda is concentrating on the users, and what will make their experience better. I focus on that whenever I make a change. I figure the easier I make it for them, the happier they are going to be. I am wondering what you guys think about some things I can look into creating or focusing on to enhance my site. I use social media heavily (FB, tweets, posterous, blog, RSS Feed) already, but is there something else I can look at that might help me that I am not seeing. I seem to be running out of ideas. Maybe add more content to my pages? Check link structure (its pretty basic as it is) add more article based blog posts? Just want some ideas, I will send my URL to anyone who wants to take a look and see what I may be missing. C

Is there a tool in SEOMOZ that will make sure backlinks are still active and searchable every month?
I'm looking for a way to track backlinks that are made and make sure that they don't disappear. Is there a way in SEO Moz to have it check the backlinks that it has identified every month to make sure they're still there, or do you have to do it manually by download the list every month and comparing them?
