Do searchs bot understand SEF and non SEF url as the same ones ?

I've jsut realized that since almost for ever I use to code first my website using the non sef for internal linkings. It's very convenient as I'm sure that what ever will be the final url the link will always be good.

ex: website.com/component1/id=1

Before releasing the website I use extensions to make the url user friendly according the choosen strategy.

ex: website.com/component1/id=1 -> website.com/article1.html

But I just wondered if google consider both urls as the same ones or if it consider just as a 301 redirection.

What do you think is the best to do ?

Google considers both url's as different.

In your use case, i would use a robots.txt file to prevent google from indexing the site / pages.
When the site is released and the url's are permanent, you can remove the robots.txt

What to do with internal spam url's google indexed?

I am in SEO for years but never met this problem. I have client who's web page was hacked and there was posted many, hundreds of links, These links has been indexed by google. Actually these links are not in comments but normal external urls's. See picture. What is the best way to remove them? use google disavow tool or just redirect them to some page? The web page is new, but ranks good on google and has domain authority 24. I think that these spam url's improved rankings too 🙂 What would be the best strategy to solve this. Thanks. k9Bviox

How much does doing google search queries dilute your search console data

So, does performing dozens or hundreds of search queries a day dilute your search console data, or does google filter this out or how does this work exactly? When you do an icognito search and click on your site does this information get recorded in search console?

Moving content to a clean URL

Greetings My site was seriously punished in the recent penguin update. I foolishly got some bad out sourced spammy links built and I am now paying for it 😞 I am now thinking it best to start fresh on a new url, but I am wondering if I can use the content from the flagged site on the new url. Would this be flagged as duplicate content, even if i took the old site down? your help is greatly appreciated Silas

Include placename in URL, or not?

Hi Mozzers, I'm wondering whether to put placename in URL or not. This is for a hotel so it's very focused on the county. I have loads of sub pages along the lines of www.hotelname.com/short-breaks-somerset www.hotelname.com/eat-out-somerset and so on but I was wondering whether that placename element would help or hinder. For example, may want to rank for short breaks in other searches (not just those seeking short breaks in Somerset) and was wondering whether the somerset bit may actually hinder this in the future. Also noticed Somerset is mentioned in nearly all of the page urls through the site. Perhaps this is a bit spammy and just not neccesary. I can include the address of the hotel on every page anyway. Big one or a linkfarm?

Hello Moz and Mozfans,
I would like to ask you a question. Our friend runs a real-estate server site with aprox. 450 000 visitors a month. There is aprox. 15 000 products to be sold. The problem is, their business strategy lies in visits, not conversions. They also run a huge (you may call it linkfarm) syndicate of exact-match domains, where all those products are feeded. Of course there is supposed to be a duplicate content, but for some reason Google does not care and indexes them. As a result this syndicated exact-match domain agregate has aprox. 350 000 visits a moth, almost as much as their main brand and domain. The thing is they need those numbers. Finally my question: Should we persuade them to: A. forget the linkfarms and focus on their top-product B. milk the linkfarm as much as possible before ban C. something else? Thank you very much.
