Half key word in brand name itself

If you have half of the keyword you are targeting in ur brand name itself can we still use our brand name as anchor text in all inbound links

All you have to do is when you build any links, use natural variations of the anchor text.
Business Name Location
Business Name Keyword
Keyword Location Business Name
Business Abbreviation City
And so on. Too many links with the same anchor text are always unnatural to me. They scream manipulation.

Thanks @Marie for informing me about this I will be cautious about this..Am also thinking of having some other brand name for my business which doesn't have keyword in it is that ok? My business is in its starting phase so I can change my brand name

I'd be really cautious. I'd still want the majority of my links to be my url.
Look at the story of WPMU and Penguin. They got penalized for having a lot of "Wordpress MU" footer backlinks pointing at them even though that's their brand.
If my keyword is "red widgets" and I happen to get the domain name, "RedWidgetsInfo.com", I'd be super cautious about building a bunch of links with the anchor text of red widgets just because it is my domain name.

Website title has domain name in SERPS but not in the website.
We are using the latest version of Wordpress for one of our website. Now every page in SERPS is like this: SEO Services, Link Building and Social Media - Oursite.com But when we look at our website's title tag its like this: <title>SEO Services, Link Building and Social Media</title> It's very strange, why the website's domain name is appended to the title in SERPS?? Any ideas? Thanks!

Changing Anchor Text and Domain Name on external sites
Hey guys, I was hoping somebody might be help with my current dilema. We have a international website due to go live soon which has changed its brand name. It is International educational website funded by the government is all I can tell you I'm afraid. They have over 40,000 inbound links many of which are images. I'm wondering what i site best approach. To contact the web master of the top PR sites and ask them to change the listing to the new brand? I was also thinking if I was to leave most of them there as they would be redirected anyhow. Could I be clever and add the new brand link to some of these sites without removing the old and reap the benefits of having two links, the old site url and the new site url? Here is the main dilema though, the commission wish to keep the old site live for 6 months before we can redirect. Thanks, Rob

Does google really care if anchor text is the "brand name"?
I have read a lot about how it is a good idea to build links with your "brand name" as the anchor text. I am somewhat skeptical about all this. I suspect that the only thing that you need to do is have a wide variety of anchor text, some no follow links, and some links without any anchor text at all or just your URL. IDoes anyone have an opinion on this? Also I am somewhat confused about what a "brand name" is anyway. Obviolusly it applies to words like "Apple Computers" or seomoz but can I "make" my own name, i.e. Paul W. Matthews, into a "brand Name" aulby putting it in the title of my home page and just using it a lot as anchor text? If yes, is this a good idea? thanks, Paul

Is it ok for a web design company to have a branded footer link on their client's sites?
Now I know that in general footer links to your site from another site are bad...this is because they are very often spammy...however I like to think that Google is pretty smart and I am of the opinion that a web design company should be able to link back to their own site. Here's why: If a visitor comes across a site that they love the design of, and they want a new website built...why shouldn't they be able to click through to the web designers site? (as long as the client is happy to link to it of course) I also feel that if there are a whole bunch of high authority/pagerank websites have been designed by a web design company and they therefore have a footer link pointing to them, it's probably a pretty good sign that they're a good web designer. Is it not? In saying this I think that the link anchor text should be branded rather than keywords. For example I usually write "Web Design by Static Shift" I'm interested to hear people's thoughts. Am I being blinded by my bias? Thoughts aside, and onto the facts...what are people's experiences with footer links for a web design company. Do they help or hinder?

Forgot the name of a cool SEO Tool... Help!
I recently discovered a cool SEO tool. I didn't write it down, save it, bookmark, etc... And now I can't remember the name of the tool for the life of me, but I'd really like to use it again. I was hoping I could list of the features that I remember, and one of you Mozzers know what I'm talking about. It was a backlink analysis tool. It had a free version, and after you performed so many searches/searched so many backlinks, you had to pay. From what I remember it was a fairly nominal fee with the most popular package in around $25. The reason that I liked it so much was you could take an OSE csv file, dump it in there, and it would sort all of the links by link type, i.e, footer, comment, directory, etc... Then it would put it all into a nice pie chart for you and show you the % of the total links that each link type made up. It would also analyze the anchor text and would show you every anchor text used, and the % of the total each one made up.
