A/B Testing. What do you use?
-
About to do some A/B testing (conversion improvement) for multiple clients. There are so many solutions out there. Does anyone have any suggestions.
A/B testing will be done for both SEO & PPC Campaigns.

Had been using, and was happy with Google Website Optimizer, but since they retired it and moved to Google Analytics Content Experiments we've had mixed results with it. For some experiments it seems to work with a hitch, but a few of our experiments have been problematic in terms of accuracy. Have a look at the Google groups product forums and you'll see many, many people having issues with it.
We're going to try Visual Website Optimizer next, it has all the features we need. We also looked at Optimizely, but from what I could tell it doesn't letsyou run experiments by simply supplying the URLs you want to test, you have to create your variants using their editor.

My preference is Optimizely. It does everything I need it to. I've run tests where I've changed multiple elements on multiple pages, and it's super simple to set everything up. We also test for multiple goals on our site with differing revenue, which they support seamlessly. You can try it out for free on their site without creating an account or anything, to see how you like it.

I like tio use http://visualwebsiteoptimizer.com/ it's very easy to use and it has great features.

How to test unconditional free shipping?
Hi everyone, I am considering a switch to offering unconditional free shipping. By this I mean no minimums or contingencies. Before I do this I would like to be able to test the concept for a period of time, or for a section of my audience before fully committing. The issue is it will take a lot of time and $$$ to convert the website to market the free shipping properly. I have thought about using a promo code but I am not sure that will give a proper sample due to people getting confused. Has anyone seen how to test this concept? Thanks!

What's the most effective web marketing tactic you've seen or used that very few people know about?
I wanted to start a thread to share some of the really cool marketing tactics I've seen on the web that I think few folks are using, AND ask the community here what you've seen, too! Some of my favorite undiscovered or less-used tactics include: Making smart use of bios for conferences, events, interviews, etc. where folks ask you or your team members for a "bio" and you get to control the links, link targets, and anchor text. This is super powerful in my experience, so long as you have a moderately strong profile or regular participation in this type of stuff. Price anchoring on conversion pages, e.g. http://www.trackur.com/options - note how they start with the highest price to help "anchor" the audience to bigger numbers. A great principle of psychology in action. Using re-marketing to draw people to content rather than just purchase/conversion pages. The effectiveness of these is, I've heard, dramatically higher than the usual re-marketing campaigns that take you to a squeeze or purchase page. I can't share the example I'm thinking of, unfortunately, but I'd urge you to try it! Get more social shares and clicks by SHARING MORE THAN ONCE! A lot of folks feel like they are burdening their audience on Twitter/Facebook/G+ or frustrating them if they post multiple times, when in fact, very, very few of your followers are online at any given time. I've tested this myself and I get almost no negative feedback but can triple or more the number of shares/+1s/likes/visits/etc I get just by sharing 2-3X! The key is not to be too repetitive or annoying, and to acknowledge past shares (at least for me). e.g. I'll say "my blog post from last night on XYZ" and get a ton more clicks. What are your favorites? Please share!

E-commerce Customer Reviews/Ratings Solutions?
Hi all, Was wondering if based on your experience you could recommend E-commerce customer reviews/ratings solutions? Or if you prefer to use in-house built solutions. I currently have proposals from bazaarvoice, Shopzilla and Reevoo. Cheers

Any providers offering a/b testing using JS callbacks?
Hi all, I am looking to test the impact of buy button wording on conversion rate. The website in question has a few thousand products on non-dynamic URLs. The common a/b testing products on the market restrict tests to a single URL, or you have to enter all the URLs being tested which isn't practical. Ideal Solution What I'd really like to do is: use the provider's web app to configure an experiment with a name and a description of the variations; use some JS code to run the experiment with a callback to carry out the variation. This would allow me to easily put this code on the product details page template. I've written example code below for how this would look. When the experiment is run, the provider's framework would a) tell my code what variation to run, and b) handle the measuring of conversion rate. Questions Are there any providers which work like this? Is there an alternative solution on the market? If there isn't someone already doing this, would it be useful to anyone else? Joel // Loads the provider's framework. // Setting the experiment to run when doc is ready.
