Google Not Displaying Rich Snippets
-
We implemented rich snippets for products some time ago. When viewing our site through a site:xxxx.com on Google, they don't show for every product, despite the fact that they should.
I've taken some of the URLs that don't show rich snippets in the SERPs, ran them through Google's testing tool, and they display fine. Not sure what's going wrong here. Any thoughts?

Hello David,
This is an issue for many sites at the moment, I think. I just finished diving really deep into another site having the same problem, and we ended up - after fixing everything that "could" be wrong - deciding that Google has probably tightened the reigns on rich snippets displaying for product pages. Whether this is based on page-level authority metrics, number of reviews, trustworthiness of the reviews, etc... I do not know.
It is not guaranteed that a page will display snippets in the SERPs even if the code is implemented correctly. That is about all we can know at the moment. The same goes for rel author thumbs and other enhanced SERPs.

Syed is correct, that's the markup I'm talking about.
jStrong, product pages are submitted with the XML sitemap every week. They're correctly implemented as the rich snippet testing tool shows them the right way. I see no pattern with reviews. Now I'm seeing even less of our pages displaying with rich snippets, so I'm chalking this up to Google just getting more stringent with when they display them.

I think David is talking about http://schema.org/Product and http://schema.org/Offer here ... I have the same problem. I added these structured data elements on the page about a fortnight ago and it is not displayed in SERPs. I have tested it in webmaster tools and it does pick up the structured data.

Hi David,
I'm guessing you are talking about the review/ratings snippets? You said some are working and some are not, so sounds like they are implemented correctly. I have seen sometimes that a minimum amount of reviews are necessary for the snippet to appear, but have not verified this. Do the products that are appearing have more reviews then ones that are not? Significantly more? Also, when was the last time, you submitted the product pages to GWT? The page may need to be crawled again to pick up any new reviews.

Is possible to submit a XML sitemap to Google without using Google Search Console?
We have a client that will not grant us access to their Google Search Console (don't ask us why). Is there anyway possible to submit a XML sitemap to Google without using GSC? Thanks

Rich snippet star ratings appearing and disappearing
For nearly a year, our physician profile pages have been successfully displaying rich snippets in Google search results. Nothing has changed on those pages, but the stars recently vanished from Google. Example of a physician profile: http://www.realpatientratings.com/Lori-H-Saltz/ We added some new content pages in a different schema category, and those new pages actually do have rich snippets showing in Google search results. Example of a new product page: http://www.realpatientratings.com/breast-augmentation-reviews.html Furthermore, the Google Webmaster Tools Structured Data report has me convinced that the Physician profiles aren't coded correctly because it doesn't appear to recognize the Review or Aggregate Rating counts. But the official Structured Data Testing Tool says all is correct. My instinct is that the code isn't quite right on the physician profile... but I'm not a developer. I need help identifying the source of the real problem. sFMua7y AUKfkjp

Google SERPs do not display "cached"
When I am signed in with Google and searching sites, the snippets do not display the "cached" link. Not good since I am trying to see when a particular page was crawled. If I login to another server that I never use to browse and search from there the "cache" link does show up. Assumption: google knows who I am on my machine and is "helping" me.......but is there an easy way to turn this help off?

Difficulties in Rich Snippets?
Hey everyone, Lately I have been digging into Rich snippets, checking all the possibilities they offer and still try to figure out some things. Question #1: Do you experience difficulties with implementing Image into Product page? (Don't forget, we're talking about Rich snippets) I have done it "a la carte" just how Google pointed out, in the Rich Snippets testing tool I have seen that the image, still nowhere in the search engine ranking pages (and I have seen that more websites are fighting with the same issue) Question #2: Is there a possible way to implement a Category rich snippet or is there a ProductGroup? One of the favorite demonstrations about Rich Snippets was a MusicGroup implementation. The example would be: http://www.myspace.com/kingsofleon Is there a way to implement something similar? Like having "featured" product show up on category pages? we were thinking to implement an AggregateOffer then the offers. (Did anyone test it that way?) I hope this question will answer not just my curiosity 🙂 Istvan

Removing a Page From Google index
We accidentally generated some pages on our site that ended up getting indexed by google. We have corrected the issue on the site and we 404 all of those pages. Should we manually delete the extra pages from Google's index or should we just let Google figure out that they are 404'd? What the best practice here?

Google, Links and Javascript
So today I was taking a look at http://www.seomoz.org/top500 page and saw that the AddThis page is currently at the position 19. I think the main reason for that is because their plugin create, through javascript, linkbacks to their page where their share buttons reside. So any page with AddThis installed would easily have 4/5 linbacks to their site, creating that huge amount of linkbacks they have. Ok, that pretty much shows that Google doesn´t care if the link is created in the HTML (on the backend) or through Javascript (frontend). But heres the catch. If someones create a free plugin for wordpress/drupal or any other huge cms platform out there with a feature that linkbacks to the page of the creator of the plugin (thats pretty common, I know) but instead of inserting the link in the plugin source code they put it somewhere else, wich then is loaded with a javascript code (exactly how AddThis works). This would allow the owner of the plugin to change the link showed at anytime he wants. The main reason for that would be, dont know, an URL address update for his blog or businness or something. However that could easily be used to link to whatever tha hell the owner of the plugin wants to. What your thoughts about this, I think this could be easily classified as White or Black hat depending on what the owners do. However, would google think the same way about it?
