Google does not favour php websites?
-
Hi there. An SEO company recently told me that google does not favour php development? This seems rather sketchy, I have not read that google doesn't favour this anywhere, did I just miss that part of SEO or are these guys blowing a little smoke?

Hi Martijn,
Thanks for the real quick response, I thought they were fishing there, I have been reading about SEO practices for the past 2 years and haven't heard of this issue at all, but wanted to be 100% before jumping to conclusions. Thanks very much for the response I appreciate it.

Hi Raymond,
If you need confirmation about what Martijn stated it is 100% true.
I think that statement is wrong in every sense of a word Google is not against the act of using PHP is a server-side code because it is all HTML in the end Google because Google BOT cannot read PHP!
WordPress as was said is PHP based however it is excellent for search engine optimization because it creates HTML the only language that Google even understands aside from schema which I am not into.
If they meant Google is not as good to sites made on the WordPress CMS switch agencies.
Basically, PHP is a server-side code and HTML is what Google sees.
So a WordPress based website is in fact capable of producing HTML 5 and CSS 3 just as well as any other pure HTML site in fact I prefer it.
Sincerely,
Thomas

Hi Raymond,
I seriously hope that they meant this in a different context than just saying PHP for SEO is bad. Because it's absolutely not true, at least 20% of the web is almost using WordPress which is nothing more than PHP. Besides that millions of sites are using PHP as well so I won't bother about this advice and if they literally said this then look for another SEO company as they're probably not worth the risk.

If Fetch As Google can render website, it should be appear on SERP ?
Hello everyone and thank you in advance for helping me. I have a Reactjs application which has been made by Create-React-App that is zero configuration. Also I connect it using Axios to the API using Codeigniter(PHP). Before using Reactjs, this website was at the top Google's SERPs for specific keywords. After Using Reactjs and some changes in URLs with no redirection in htaccess or something else, I lost my search engine visibility! I guess it should be caused by Google penalties! I tried using "react-snap", "react-snapshot" and so forth for prerendering but there are so many problem with them. Also I tried using Prerender.io and unfortunately my host provider didn't help me to config the shared host! Finally I found a great article that my website eventually display in Rendering box of Fetch As Google. But still in Fetching box, the dynamic content didn't display. But I can see my entire website in both "This is how Googlebot saw the page" and "This is how a visitor to your website would have seen the page" for all pages without any problem. If Fetch As Google can render the entire of the website, is it possible to index my pages after a while and it would be appear on Google's SERP? mokaab_serp.png

Is it worthwhile going after a good score on Google page speed? Had prices but a LOT of money, and don't know if it's worth it or not. Also to add to the complication it is a new site. Does anyone have any experience if it helps rankings? Thanks

Bing seriously hitting our website
Hi I have a strange query, Bing in the last four weeks have been seriously crawling our site, and while at the moment this isn't affecting our servers, coming into the busy time of the year I am just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. They are basically crawling the entire site (including nofollow pages) even though according to Bing Webmaster tools, they know our sitemap. Is anybody else seeing any unusual activity with the Bing bot. Thanks Andy

Video SEO for Google
I was wondering what the prime factors were to make something rank for a video on Google. Does anyone have any suggestions? I think that length may be important, but I don't know what the ideal run time is. Hypothetically for local SEO, would I be better off doing a tag like "Mercedes Buffalo NY" or do individual tags of "Mercedes" and "Buffalo" Thanks!

API to power all websites
I spoke to one of my lead web developers and we are planning on powering all of our desktop, mobile and tablet sites with our new API. Everything will be populated through javascript and is cloud-based rather than through actual HTML. How do we incorporate all of our SEO?

There's a website I'm working with that has a .php extension. All the pages do. What's the best practice to remove the .php extension across all pages?
Client wishes to drop the .php extension on all their pages (they've got around 2k pages). I assured them that wasn't necessary. However, in the event that I do end up doing this what's the best practices way (and easiest way) to do this? This is also a WordPress site. Thanks.
