My client's site is www.graysonmountainrealestate.com.
Google Webmaster Tools reports I have over 120 different domains linking to the site. Why does OSE report only 7?
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken
Google is much larger than us so they will always show more data. Also when checking your linking root domains, make sure you are filtering for all 3 metrics for page, sub-domain, and root-domain. We basically index about 35% of what Google can. A lot of people recommend using multiple backlink tools to obtain a full profile. This has come up many times in the Q&A before so you should check out some of the answers there which might help:

Hope this helps!

Dennis,
Thanks for answering but this is totally unacceptable.
The ranking for Domain and Page Authorities for my site (and all others) MUST be based on the number and quality of inbound links (among other factors) to my site. If the most highly ranked sites that link to mine (Yahoo, Trulia, Zillow, etc.) are not found by Moz, how can I place even a shred of confidence in the ranking Moz gives my site (or any one else's for that matter)?

Hi!
Much like any link checker, OSE will not show everything you have. It tries to improve the database each month but similar to ahrefs and majestic, it will not (always) be able to show 100% of your links
The best way is to actually combine the different sources, including Yandex. You'd get almost all of your links like that.

Google Disavow File Format and MOZ Spam Score Updates
Hi, Is there a defined file format for Google disavow file name? Does it has to be disavowlinks.txt or can we do this like domain-name-date.txt ? Also, since Google does not share their data with Moz, how does MOz updates its spam score after we disavow the bad links? Do we need to connect Google search console with Moz?

MOZ competitor analysis tool
Hi Guys Has anyone also noticed that the MOZ competitor analysis tool does not always pick up on all back-links? If I put two competitors into MOZ and Ahrefs I get so many more back-link info from Ahrefs. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Thanks Jon

Checking link quality : help needed
In my journey of learning which links are good or bad for my website I found the series pointed out in the attached image and pasted below: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/help-implementing-google-pagespeed-suggestions where I posted a forum comment just like this one on the wordpress forum asking for advice. Apparently this links is mildly spammy (spam score of 1). What should I do with such links? Remove them? emZXKI

Thousands of Missing Links in OSE Report
Hi there, Moz reports 70k+ external links pointing to my site but when I use the Open Site Explorer to export all links, I only see 9,000+ I have tried combining different combinations of fields ('this root domain', 'this subdomain', 'all links' etc) but can never see more than 9,000 links. My website does redirect to www. and have a couple of subdomains, the report for non www. only shows around 120 external links. We also use Ahrefs and the crawl reports here display 40k+ links (on the dashboard and when exported) which makes me believe the problem is not with my website but rather OSE. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks, Jason

Why does Open site explorer only show a fraction of the linked Domains that Google does?
One of my sites ( http://www.georgerossphotography.com ) shows 19 root domains and 155 links on Open Site Explorer. This doesn't pass the sniff test with me and when I look at Google Webmasters they show 120 domains with 1,870 links. I am assuming that Google use it's own data for ranking purposes which makes me question the validity of Open Site Explorer? Am I missing something ? I have been using OSE as my primary tool and now I feel that it has little value. I would appreciate any feedback. George.

Why moz pro detects inexistent links?
I have a campaign in moz pro to my personal webpage for testing purposes and also a bit of learning. But i have a question: On link -> Link analysis i can see this: http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/chat/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/docs/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/down/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/foto/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/news/index.php?news=1 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/project/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/ro/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/who/index.php 404Obviously all these address doesn't exist. There are links on the page project/index.php linking to, for example, /chat/index.php.How can i resolve this problem on the stats? There's something bad really on the page? As i can see all links on the page are working properly.

MOZ Tool Bar Query
Hi there, I have a quick question about how pages are ranked on the MOZ tool bar. If you view this page (with the MOZ tool bar showing on your browzer), it has strong metrics: http://www.bristol.gov.uk/page/leisure-and-culture/bristol-collection-venue-hire-0 However, when you click the 'Weddings' link a go one page further into the site, is has no metrics: http://www.bristol.gov.uk/page/leisure-and-culture/wedding-venue-hire Is this because the page hasn't been crawled? Getting a link here is still good?
