Does a dynamic meta creation harmful for seo?
-
Hi guys another newbie question.
I have this 20 categories and i want each of it to have a dynamic meta to save time rather than doing it manually.
All the 20 categories are name of countries.
Target keyword: rent a car (category)
Lets say im browsing malaysia category.
Meta Title: Find affordable rent a car in malaysia
Meta Description: Find affordable rent a car in malaysia only here at website.com, call and book for a car now!
Meta Keywords: rent a car in malaysia, malaysia rent a car, affordable rent a car malaysia, cheap cars in malaysia
Now i move to another category lets say hongkong, the meta should change dynamically by changing just the name of the category
Meta Title: Find affordable rent a car in hongkong
Meta Description: Find affordable rent a car in hongkong only here at website.com, call and book for a car now!
Meta Description: rent a car in hongkong, hongkong rent a car, affordable rent a car hongkong, cheap cars in hongkong
and this goes to all other categories as well.
Will it hurt my seo? i mean it could be a form of duplicate content or whatever. Also please correct me of doing my meta, if its correct especially in meta keywords i dont want keyword stuffing as a problem why im not ranking.
Thanks a lot guys. Im still in the process of learning the basics

Hello there,
Automating title tags and meta descriptions as you've described above shouldn't cause you any problems. The meta keywords tag is redundant (Google don't use it) so I wouldn't bother populating it.
You might like to review these resources for further guidance on title tags and meta descriptions before you go ahead and implement.
Regarding your second question about content, I'd strongly recommend that you don't automate as described above. Having the same content (but just changing the location) is likely to be considered duplicate content by the search engines. I'd strongly recommend that you write unique copy for each page.
I hope this helps,
Hannah

hi thanks for your response, i'll wait for the others opinion... anyway i have a question for you if you dont mind... what if it was a content? like a description of a category with 200 words up and displayed on the page as an article describing the category? then on each categories description the only changes made was the name of the category.
example using the same keyword
"If you are visiting hongkong you would want to have your own car for your convenience. Find affordable rent a car in hongkong only here at website.com, all you have to do is browse check for the details blah blah. Only here in website.com you would find the most affordable rent a car and so on and so forth..... up to 200 words up"
the underlined names will be change if the user browse to other categories.
Thanks a lot

From my understanding, meta descriptions/keywords/etc are not part of Google's search algorithm, so you should be fine.

Newbie Question about the first steps of website SEO
Hello. I'm new to Moz and know very little about SEO. I just finished going through the Beginner's Guide to SEO and I'm ready to take action. I plan on doing the SEO work myself. The guide says before doing keyword research, I should first answer certain questions about my business, such as: What types of my product are people searching for? Who is searching for these terms? When are people searching for these terms? How are people searching for my product? There are several more. How do I go about finding the answers to these questions? Thank you in advance.

Changing URL for SEO
Hi folks, I'm a total newbie so please go easy. I've published 4 blogs on my website and am using the free Yoast plugin to guide me on my SEO. The blogs have been promoted in various places using organic and paid social. However, the more I look into SEO the more I'm realising that I did literally NO keyword research and the keywords I'm using are pretty useless. The question is this: it should be easy enough for my to change the content of the blog, the meta description etc to reflect the new keywords, but what about the URL / slug?. Is there any way to change this without causing me a massive headache or does having my new keywords in the slug even matter? Thanks, Mike.

Should the Product Name/Keyword be first in meta description?
I'm writing my meta descriptions for my products. Right now I have it as <product name="">at <company name="">and a brief description.</company></product> However, I was wondering if I put a word in front of the <product name="">such as "Wholesale". So for example</product> Wholesale <product name="">at <company name="">.......</company></product> Is that advisable? Or should the product name always be the first word?

What's the best way to handle seasonal SEO?
Hi, I work for a gifting company, and so Christmas is hot on the agenda right now. I was wondering what you would recommend when it comes to gifting categories for keywords such as 'Christmas gifts for Mum'? I have a 'gifts for mum' category for all year round, but to rank for Christmas related keywords I will have to include these keywords on this page as soon as possible and this would make the content on the page seem slightly irrelevant. I do not really want to have separate pages, but is this the only way to rank for this?

Is KEI metric still commonly used by SEOs
I'd like to ask about the KEI, is it used by now? and is it really matters ? I guess # of results by Google is not a good metric to decide if the keyword is good or not? I'd really appreciate your inputs

Weekly on-page SEO report problem

How do I do SEO for a client who is starting a website that is in a niche with very little to none search traffic?
I am helping a client do On-page optimization and link building. His website is rather like thoughtcatalog.com, where it is a collection of random articles, opinions and anecdotes with no fixed genre. He also has a section devoted to artsy pictures of women. To make things worse, I am in a country (singapore) where the population is small, and the search traffic for his kind of content is minuscule. I have trouble finding out good keywords for him to target and I am considering not undergoing any serious keyword targeting at all (because it will detract from the style of his content). I did a little competitor research, and most of the websites in such a genre do not seem to do any keyword targeting at all! In such a case, how do i continue to help him with SEO? should I abandon keyword research? What should i do to help him earn traffic?
