Proper Form for Title & Description Tags
-
Greetings MOZ Community:
I operate a real estate web site in New York (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com) that I suspect has been hit by Panda 4.0. I believe a problem is thin content on product pages, which in my case are 350 listing pages.
However I am also looking at how title and description tags are formatted for these 350 pages to ensure this is not a factor in the ranking drop.
The title descriptions are written like this: <title></span><span class="webkit-html-tag">Flatiron loft for rent | West 21st Street | 1441SF $6604/month</span><span class="webkit-html-tag"></title>
Is this sufficiently diverse? Will constantly repeating various street names, square footages and prices work against me? Will Google in a sense consider this thin or repetitive content? It does provide the visitor with key information.
The descriptions meta tags are written along these lines: description" content="One of the most desirable full floor sublets in Midtown South. Recent build out, pristine condition, panoramic views, tech chic, spectacular. Top location." /><meta< span=""></meta<>
From an SEO perspective are these critical tags written the way they should be?
Thanks everyone!! Alan

The title and description look good to me, if i was going to modify is myself, i would add some of this Flatiron loft for rent | West 21st Street to the description tag and also add more of a location in the title and description such as: NYC or New York City, ya know?

Pagination, Javascript & SEO
Hi I need some help identifying whether we need to rethink the way we paginated product pages, On this page http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/workbenches when clicking page 1,2, etc - we have javascript to sort the results, the URL displayed and the URL linked to are different. e.g. The URL for these paginated pages is for example: page2 http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/workbenches#productBeginIndex:30&orderBy:5&pageView:list& Then the arrows either side of pagination, link to the paginated landing page e.g. http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/workbenches?page=3 - this is where the rel/prev details are - done for Google However - when clicking on this arrow, the URL loaded is different again - http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/workbenches#productBeginIndex:60&orderBy:5&pageView:list& & doesn't take you http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/workbenches?page=3 I did not set this up, but I am concerned that the URL http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/workbenches?page=3 never actually loads, but it's linked to Google can crawl it. Is this a problem? I am looking to implement a view all option. Thank you

Google SERPs displaying Tracking Tags
Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me! Can you tell me why Google would be displaying the tracking URLs in the SERPs (screenshot - http://i.imgur.com/gbskD26.jpg)? I'm thinking it may have to do with the canonical URLs, but I'm not sure.. Thanks in advance! gbskD26.jpg

Rich Snippets For Q&A Forums?
As Google seems to have new interest in Rel Author for articles, is there anything comparable for q&a comments, where you have many commenters? IMHO, Google is trying to get at the quality of the authors advice via authority of some kind, especially for YMYL content. Best... Mike

Reviewing Category & Tag policy - Update
I recently (http://moz.com/community/q/less-tags-better-for-seo) started reviewing my category and tag policy, and things have been going very well. I thought I would share what I have done: Removed all tags from site Added unique descriptions for each post for the category excerpt. Only had the category description on the first page and use the description like a post to summarise and interlink to sub-categories or posts. This keeps pages from slipping down the number of clicks until it can be reached, improving link juice distribution. I also reduced the number of posts showing to 5, to allow more focus on the description (main part) of the category post. To add the category description on the first category page only in Wordpress, you need to go to the category.php or archive.php and change: to The overall aim was to have a hierarchal resource contained in the category page description. Whilst this is still a work in progress, you can see an example of what I am trying to achieve here: https://www.besthostnews.com/web-hosting-tutorials/cpanel/ https://www.besthostnews.com/web-hosting-tutorials/cpanel/mail/ If you have any further tips and advice as I continue to implement this (with good results so far), please feel free. Also, you can use the Visual Term Description Editor plugin to allow the wysiwyg editor for the category descriptions.

Proper naming convention when updating sitemaps
I have a semi-big site (500K pages) with lots of new pages being created. I also have a process that updates my sitemap with all of these pages automatically. I have 11 sitemap files and a sitemap index file. When I update my sitemaps and submit them to Google, should I keep the same names?

XML Sitemap & Bad Code
I've been creating sitemaps with XML Sitemap Generator, and have been downloading them to edit on my pc. The sitemaps work fine when viewing in a browser, but when I download and open in Dreamweaver, the urls don't work when I cut and paste them in the Firefox URL bar. I notice the codes are different. For example, an "&" is produced like this..."&". Extra characters are inserted, producing the error. I was wondering if this is normal, because as I said, the map works fine when viewing online.

Google and Product Description Tabs
How does Google process a product page with description tabs? For example, lets say the product page has a tab for Overview, Specifications, What's In the Box and so on. Wouldn't that content be better served in one main product description tab with the tab names used as (htags) or highlighted paragraph separators? Or, does all that content get crawled as a single page regardless of the tabs?
