23,000 pages indexed, I think bad
-
Thank you Thank you Moz People!!
I have a successful vacation rental company that has terrible seo but getting better. When I first ran Moz crawler and page grader, I had 35,000 errors and all f's.... tons of problem with duplicate page content and titles because not being consistent with page names... mainly capitalization and also rel canonical errors... with that said, I have now maybe 2 or 3 errors from time to time, but I fix every other day.
Problem Maybe
My site map shows in Google Webmaster
submitted 1155
1541 indexedBut google crawl shows 23,000 pages probably because of duplicate errors or possibly database driven url parameters...
- How bad is this and how do I get this to be accurate, I have seen google remove tool but I do not think this is right?
2) I have hired a full time content writer and I hope this works
- My site in google was just domain.com but I had put a 301 in to www.domain.com becauses www. had a page authority where the domain.com did not. But in webmasters I had domain.com just listed. So I changed that to www.domain.com (as preferred domain name) and ask for the first time to crawl. www.domain.com . Anybody see any problems with this?
THank you MOZ people, Nick

Hi Nick,
I do not think you have that bad of a problem if google is showing 23,000 pages even though you have only submitted 1155 pages. How are you getting the 23,000 number? Try using the site operator search for "site:domain.com" in google (if you have not already) This will show you all of your pages that are indexed.
As long as you are working on fixing your errors and making sure you have no dupe content by unsing canonical tags, removing all the page that have thin content OR adding content to pages with little to no content you are going to be in good shape.
In regards to your comment about googles webmasters tools. I have a lot of sites in GWMT where I add both www and none www even though I have a 301 redirect with htaccess. It will not effect you if you add the none www one back (if you deleted it) as that one has data and the one you have just added will not have data in it for a while.
Best,
Cibble.

Issues with getting a web page indexed
Hello friends, I am finding it difficult to get the following page indexed on search: http://www.niyati.sg/mobile-app-cost.htm It was uploaded over two weeks back. For indexing and trouble shooting, we have already done the following activities: The page is hyperlinked from the site's inner pages and few external websites and Google+ Submitted to Google (through the Submit URL option) Used the 'Fetch and Render' and 'Submit to index' options on Search Console (WMT) Added the URL on both HTML and XML Sitemaps Checked for any crawl errors or Google penalty (page and site level) on Search Console Checked Meta tags, Robots.txt and .htaccess files for any blocking Any idea what may have gone wrong? Thanks in advance!

Is it good to redirect million of pages on a single page?
My site has 10 lakh approx. genuine urls. But due to some unidentified bugs site has created irrelevant urls 10 million approx. Since we don’t know the origin of these non-relevant links, we want to redirect or remove all these urls. Please suggest is it good to redirect such a high number urls to home page or to throw 404 for these pages. Or any other suggestions to solve this issue.

Delete indexed spam pages
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone had this same situation, or may know of a solution. One of our sites was recently pharmahacked 😞 We found an entire pharmaceutical site in one of the folder of our site. We were able to delete it, but now Google is showing us on not found error for those pages we deleted. First, I guess the question is will this harm us? If so, anyway we can fix this? Obliviously we don't want to do a 303 redirect for spam pages. Thanks!

Diagnostic says too many links on a page and most of the pages are from blog entries. Are tags considered links? How do I decrease links?
I just ran my first diagnostic on my site and the results came back were negative in the area of too many links one a page. There were also quite a few 404 errors. What is the best way to fix these problems? Most of the pages with too many links are from blog posts, are the tags counted as well and is this the reason for too many links?

If you only want your home page to rank, can you use rel="canonical" on all your other pages?
If you have a lot of pages with 1 or 2 inbound links, what would be the effect of using rel="canonical" to point all those pages to the home page? Would it boost the rankings of the home page? As I understand it, your long-tail keyword traffic would start landing on the home page instead of finding what they were looking for. That would be bad, but might be worth it.

Why googlebot indexing one page, not the other?
Why googlebot indexing one page, not the other in the same conditions? In html sitemap, for example. We have 6 new pages with unique content. Googlebot immediately indexes only 2 pages, and then after sometime the remaining 4 pages. On what parameters the crawler decides to scan or not scan this page?
