How can i locate the links on my site that are causing 404 errors?

In the 404 error report, there is no way to find what page on my site has the broken link.. how can i find them???
help.

Actually, if you download the report to a CSV you'll see the referring URLs that 404.

I personally like to use Screaming Frog. It is very intuitive to use and works really well.
To find the broken links in Screaming Frog:
1. Run crawl
2. Select 'Response Codes' tab
3. Select Filter 'Client Error (4xx)'
4. To see which pages are linking to the 404 pages, go to the bottom and select 'In Links'

Matt, You might want to use a spider/crawling tool on your website and find the broken links.* Find broken links on your site with Xenu's Link Sleuth* Screaming Frog SEO Spider
Both of these tools will be able to crawl your website and find any 404's and the origin/linking pages. I hope this helps. -
Use Xenu or Screaming Frog to find the pages that have broken links on your website. Just download and run and the end, it'll show you where they are located.

Search Console says 111 links. Moz says 3\. Do I have a site problem?
I understand that Moz doesn't show all links; but i would think that out of 111 links from 43 root domains, they'd at least show 20 or 30 root domains. I definitely have more than 3 credible sites linking back to me. So do I have an issue? I've been trying to get my site ranking for 9 months, and I've tried EVERYTHING. Still no significant movement. Inbound link cleanup and management
Hey guys this is my first time asking a question here but I have been lurking for a while now and have learned a lot here. I have to come up with a plan to go through, analyze, and clean up the existing backlinks for 37 root domains. That to me makes manually looking through the stack one at a time impossible. Obviously there are some great tools and I currently have Moz tools and Raven available to me but am open to acquire something different as well if it makes sense. My questions are: 1. Do I need to worry about nofollow links at all? Should I just separate them out right off the top and be done with that? 2. What ways have you all accomplished this task? Are there any time sucking pitfalls to avoid? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance this site truly has been a blessing to me!

I can't find any inbound links that I know I have on open site, ahref or majestic. Does anyone know why?
Since the linkscape update before Christmas I have built a couple of links to fairly high quality sites. I can't find them on open site though or the other tools I mentioned. I know our business listed in Yahoo and medranks.com (for example). But my open site explorer report doesn't show those. however on their sites, I see the listing. Why is this?

Hi Seomoz - first of all, thanks for the best SEO tools I have ever worked with (this is my first question in this forum, and also I just subscribed as a paying customer after the 30 days trial you guys offer). My question: After having worked for several weeks on getting the numbers of links in our forum on www.texaspoker.dk down, we are somewhat surprised to see that we didn't succeed in getting lower numbers. For instance, this page: http://www.texaspoker.dk/forum/aktuelle-konkurrencer/coaching-projekt-bliver-du-den-udvalgte has (that's what Seomoz seo tool tells us): 239 on page links. Can this really be true? We can't find these links, and we actuually did a lot to lower the numbers of links, for instance the forum members picture was a link before, and also there was a "go to top" link in each post in the forum. Thanks a lot.

Status 404-pages
Hi all, One of my websites has been crawled by SEOmoz this week. The crawl showed me 3 errors: 1 missing title and 2 client errors (4XX). One of these client errors is the 404-page itself! What's your suggestion about this error? Should a 404-page have the 404 http status? I'd like to hear your opinion about this one! Thanks all!
