Any way to track an Email Href in Analytics ?

To help with our conversion tracking efforts is it possible to track contact Email Href clicks ?
Preferably using Google Analytics so i can filter them into my reporting,

James, sorry for any confusion. I'm certainly not going to discourage you from checking out the article, but, the article is an outline from how to set up the tracking URLs in Analytics at that time (Oct 2012). As we know, GA has transformed their setup significantly. The nice thing for us is that GA still continues to track those URLs we set up as individual "Goals" so that saved us and many clients from having to redo or modify anything as GA evolved.
The Google link Lynn referenced is your best bet for setting up now

Hey James! Yes, you can certainly track clicks from your email as Lynn explained and that Google link helps for the walk-through! I wrote an article almost 2 years ago about this very topic (http://whiteboardcreations.com/google-analytics-email-signature-click-tracking/), which we helped coach our clients on and we also implemented. It is very cool and you'll be surprised at the clicks you actually get from your email signature!

Hi,
You mean tracking when someone click on a mail link in a page that directly opens up their email client yes?
If so you can track it by adding some js to the link and declaring the click as either an event or a virtual pageview. You can then set up a goal based on the event/pageview to make it easier to track in analytics. This page details the setup (it is for download link tracking but the concept is the same).

Tracking Adwords users who sumbit a contact form after clicking through my Landing page.
I have a user, Jane, who comes to my landing page through an AdWords campaign. She click off my landing page, browses the website, then submits a contact form on one of the other pages on the site. My problem is when I receive the email from the contact form, there is no identification that this user came through adwords. If she had submitted the contact form on my landing page this wouldn't be a problem, but she submitted the form from elsewhere on the site. I know that I can see a NUMBER of how many goal conversions were achieved this way in Analytics. This is not what I want. I need something to identify it on the CONTACT FORM so that the intake staff in my office can credit that lead to the correct campaign. Any idea on how to achieve this. Technically, I am using the latest version of Wordpress and the Contact Form 7 plug-in. I can change plug-ins if needed.

Has anyone ever used Adwords' Forwarding Numbers as a Call Tracking Service?
Hi, I was taking over a client's Adwords account from a previous agency. It appears the former agency added the Google Forwarding Number (for call tracking on call extensions) and added it to the client's website. Therefore, if anyone calls that number from the website, it would register within Adwords (just not as a conversion but as a click under "call extensions") The problem: you can't filter by phone number (the same number calling +1 would indicate spam) you can filter by device (so tablet / computer) can be considered spam generally. Questions: Anyone ever used this before? Your thoughts? Does anyone know if there is spam coming from mobile devices now-a-days? Please tell me what I'm missing. What happens when i import analytics conversions into adwords if I already have conversions set up?
Hey everyone, I have a question. We already have conversion tracking set up for our landing pages, however Adwords has the option to import goals from anaytics, one of which is for the landing pages. What will happen if I do? Will it erase all the conversion data I already have? Will it mess things up? Or am I not understanding this correctly... Any help would be appreciated 🙂
