What are some tips to increase your CTR in search results?
-
Whilst having a higher SERPS position helps what are some tips that you can use in the Title and the meta description that will help getting more people clicking through?
-
Agree with Chris and Moosa's points. The following worked for me
- Schema
- Create meta descriptions that will encourage click throughs. For a product page, our meta description summed up what the product did and the ranges we offered. It led to more clicks.

If your content permits, Rich Snippets is a pretty obvious way to look more appealing to folks.

My advice would be to research your industry, plan few titles and test accordingly.

Would it work with a direct CTA? ie. "Click here to find out all you ever wanted about XYZ!" as a title? Better as a meta? or just experiment for the industry?

There could be like tons of ideas here but I will try and list the few that I commonly use from time to time.
- Instead of writing description to include keyword in it. Try to write the description that talk more to audience and encourages them to click. This will literally increase your CTR level to greater extent.
- Get in to the mind of the people and come up with titles that attract them and encourage them to share with others in their circle.
- Make sure all your technical parameters and SEO is in place as this can lead to better CTR level as well as actual clicks.
- URL optimization. If your URL will be optimized properly, this will have an impact on your click as well as CTR ratio.
There could be much more ideas but above are the one that are easy to optimize and have a great impact on Your CTR level.
Above ideas are all based on SEO perspective. If you want to increase your CTR level using PPC, then this article sounds like a perfect fit for you. http://www.searchenginejournal.com/50-strategies-increase-click-rate-via-ppc-advertising/85019/

Individual statistics (not aggregated) for 'local pack' and 'organic search results' when both on the same page
Hi, For a particular keyword combination we show up on the local pack but also on the organic search results on the 1st page. I have never been able to find out what the CTR, #clicks, conversions for this two different kinds of positions are individually. The aggregate figures I can find out in Google Search Console / Analytics, but I would like to know on an individual level as I am testing out different things. With the statistics on Google My Business I can't get along actually...no CTR as far as i know. Any hint? Cheers, Cesare

Increase conversion rate to buy
I am trying to understand why my women fashion site has a very low conversion, basically zero apart from some occasional sales (last one a few months ago) There is a lack of organic traffic the to shop subdomain, but what worries me is that (email/social media) campaigns to existing clients who happily buy repeatedly from our brick and mortar store do not generate results, despite using promotion codes etc. Before investing heavily in PPC campaigns etc, I'd like to improve conversion. Any advice on what can be improved ? PD: link can be found in my profile.

PayPal Visits Increase in Referral Traffic in Google Analytics
We've noticed recently on an E-Commerce website that we manage that PayPal has recently shown a large increase in Referral Traffic on the website. Is anyone having an experience with this and how can we block it? It seems like its counting the traffic that leave to PayPal to complete a purchase and then return to the site as increased traffic. The increase started to occur around April 29, 2015 and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with any recent updates made by PayPal? Any insight or other experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Tips on marketing actual "Products" rather than "SEO Advice"?
First of all I just want to say that I love SEOMoz, it's by far the best no-BS resource for SEO and online marketing information in general on the entire Internet, and well worth the money. HOWEVER, one beef I am starting to have with it recently is... Most of the content being generated is becoming about "how to market to marketers" or "selling SEO" rather than actual advice or focus selling general products or services. By this I mean that all the new trends towards pumping out content based on research, making fancy infographics etc. etc. are all well and good for those who are trying to market their marketing or SEO talents in general but not THAT applicable to traditional online storefronts. I work for a fairly large company that sells tickets for theme parks/attractions/tours etc. and SEOMoz was a huge help initially for a recent site redesign, but now every time I log on to check for fresh content it's seemingly a repeat similar advice on how to get links or traffic for an SEO business. I don't mean this to come off as a whine because as I said SEOMoz is wonderful, but I've conducted endless site searches for (recent) information on traditional online marketing etc. and the ratio just seems to be...off. Anyone else feeling this way?

Non-branded search before branded search in Google Analytics
A lot of organic search phrases contain branded terms. Does Google Analytics provide a possibility to track wheteher the first interactor with the website is due to a non-branded search term? Example: On monday someone search for 'online shoes' and on thursday this visitor search for 'shoestore.com'. Ist it possible in the Thursday report in Google Analytics to see that this visitor has first arrived on the site with the search term 'online shoes'? The same question can be asked for direct/none traffic. is it possible to see whether these visits ca be attributed to an organic search term?

How can I pass the Search Term into a lead form?
We receive lead forms from interested visitors that include their name, email, grade level, and academic goals, and we would like to also know which specific phrase they used when searching for us. I need to find a way to grab the referring keywords and pass them as a hidden form field. Can this be done, and are there scripts available that can do this?
