Opinion On Fiverr Blog Mentions?

What is your opinion on people offering blog mentions on their personal blog through Fiverr? Is this a risky way to get a link. Here are examples:

Re: $5 backlinks from a personal blogger.

Yeah I would still be VERY weary using Fiverr for anything related to SEO.
Link Building, Guest Blogging, Social Likes, etc. all need to be earned, have a targeted purpose and add value for a specific topic. If you are looking to use a third party source for writing, try textbroker.com or odesk.com. There are others as well but those are just a few off the top of my head that are cost effective.
Regarding guest blogging, be VERY careful how and where you do this also. You don't want to get caught pumping out guest posts on sites that are not relevant to the topic. That will most certainly get your penalized.
Good luck!

I don't mean those gigs. I mean people who have a personal blog who are charging $5 for a guest post to get 1 link.
-
Hahaha but you can get 30000 links for a $5!!
As ever if it sounds too good to be true it is and sadly for SEO $5 gigs are!
Anything of value you have to earn.

You mean the one I bought wasn't real???

Dear g-d no!!! Unless you are using fiverr to have a funny video made to embarrass your friend on his birthday, I wouldn't use it.
Using fiverr for anything related to SEO (including blog mentions) would be considered spam, and for that reason.... I'm OUT! (Mark Cuban voice)

I agree.
Run for the hills.
SEO for $5? It's a bit like the guy offering a genuine Bulova watch in Times Square for $5.
-
To clarify
Its very difficult to obtain good links these days, generally they come as the result of creating good content, being a good brand and through a lot of hard work.
My suggestion would be to evaluate the sites you are dealing with, see what they are doing of interest to people, what they are doing which is different and try and exploit those areas. Promote that content through social channels, e-shots, good old fashioned word of mouth etc
Hopefully if the content is something that people find interesting, they will link to it, retweet and share it.
Admittedly, this is a simplistic overview but its the basis of what you should be doing.
If you are looking for further info, there is a ton of resource of Moz and other sites regarding content marketing, promoting content etc,
Hope that helps and good luck
Justin

Hoth v Fiverr v general backlinking services
So the company I am working with has purchased backlinks from Hoth and Fiverr. We have noticed that a lot of links seem to be from very low level DA's as well as wix, wordpress blogs that seem like they are the bottom of the barrel as far as links are concerned. Is there any value to even having these. Is there a way we can quantify the value that these links provide. It is relatively expensive to purchase these packages, if the company can ensure DA50 posts is it worth doing that sort of this? Is it better to have a lot of a little or a little of a lot.

What Should be the URL of third party blog for my website
Hi All, What Should be the URL of third party blog for my website. Lets say if i have a website xyz.com (which provide pest control services in New York City) and I want to create third party blogs on platforms like blogspot, weebly etc so should i create the blog url as xyz.blogspot.com or i can use a keyword in the blog URL such as pestcontrolnyc.blogspot.com? Which URL would be the best as per Google's guidelines. Note: I have already have a blog within the domain as xyz.com/blog/ and i do weekly posting on this blog. But at the same time i want to create 1-2 third party blogs to get some backlinks from other sources.

Do follow blog roll links
Hi I found out that someone is linking to my site from their blog roll (which is a related theme), which I am flattered. She is linking to lots of others including quality blogs. I ran a back link report and I'm on 250 of her pages with a dofollow link. The anchor text is not a "money" keyword. In fact it's got nothing to do with what I do! The domain is DA38. Now, here's the questions going through my mind! Do I ask her to make them no follow? Do I ask her to remove them? Do I ask her to brand them all instead of irrelevant anchor text? Do I just disavow them? They are like having sitewide links on a site Any thoughts? SMP

Blog articles on website vs submitting to article submission sites
I had some articles created for a client. The site is on WordPress. I'm wondering if it is best to add the articles to the blog page of the website or if it is better to submit the articles to ezine articles. Or can I submit the same article to both places? Is there a strategy that should be followed generally speaking when creating content for the blog vs article submission sites? The goal is to increase the ranking for target keywords. I realize that the answers could take a lot of different directions. But generally speaking I would like to know, If I have an article where is the best place to add it to achieve better rankings for target keywords? Thanks for the help.

When leaving guest posts on blogs, are blog profiles such as Disqus relevant for SEO?
In other words, instead of the comment linking back to the money site it is being linked back to a blog profile which contains a link to the money site. Is this still as effective?

Group of small business owners links to each other. Do they get slapped for Private Blog Network?
I realize this is a far cry from BuildMyRank. But say this partially hypothetical groupl is a business chamber of commerce group. 30 businesses with modest sites (few links). They do their best to consistently exchange links back and forth. Nothing to abusive and some relevancy with respect to anchor links (lawyer give the accountant a plug when discussing minimizing taxes on his blog). Are these "little guys" heading for trouble? If not, when do you cross the line and face BuildMyRank type issues?
