Why is my website not ranking? Has A grade on-site from Moz.
-
I have a website that I am trying to get to up the SERPs.
However the site isn't appearing in the search - even when I search for the business name.
The site is http://www.jl-engineering.com/
The keyword targeted is DPF Cleaning.
Could anyone explain to me why the site isn't showing at all - and how to fix this?
Thanks
-
Thanks for the response.
I have submitted to GWT and done the fetch and render.
The site has been live for a few years - but this is the first time that I have started doing work on it for SEO.
I will change the tags too.
I have just googled the term JL Engineering and it doesnt find the site at all?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Yeah it looks like you just have a lot of work ahead of you to boost your ranking signals.
When I did a Google search for "DPF cleaning commercial remapping" (not using the quotes), you do show up in the #4 position organically. So Google knows your site is there. And it has 8 pages indexed.
So the questions to ask include:
-
Do you have enough overall content across your entire site to properly compete against other sites that might have extensive content specific to your targeted market?
-
Even if the existing site's content gets a top grade as it stands from basic SEO signals, how strong is each page itself, in comparison to any other pages on other sites specific to that single page's primary topical focus?
-
How strong is your off-site signal footprint compared to those competitors?

I agree with what Timbronze said, especially about the links. You have very few. And as far as the business name, there are other businesses with the same name, including one with an exact match domain, so there is some competition there as well.

Hey SWD,
First of all it appears to be a relatively competitive keyword phrase with quite a few companies targeting it, As such just because you may be doing some things right, it doesn't mean you will instantly climb the serps unfortunately, How long has the site been live?
Here are some things to check - make sure you...
1. Submit your sitemap in Google and Bings Webmaster tools.
2. Also do a crawl of the site and submit and render before sbmitting to the index.Even after submission it will take a little time for it to appear.
Secondly, and this is only my opinion, but I check the source of your pages and spotted this
alt="DPF Cleaning Service | Economy Remapping | JL Engineering" title="DPF Cleaning Service and Economy Remapping" on all of your navigation buttons, make them relevant to where they are pointing,A few more relevant links to your site may help too. Cheers
Tim

Worthwhile for SEO to buy a website with great links which is inactive for 30days and revive it with all its content and after a while transfer it to my core site?
When moving the content after a while to a subdirectory of my core website I would copy the full content and later further improve it. Would the external links that I redirect via 301 be counting similar to links I had earned in the first place? I understand that 301 redirect normally just implies minimal loss of link power. Topic of the site I consider to acquire is loosely related to my core site.

Search engine keyword rank - easiest way to check the keywords that rank across website
What is the best keyword ranking tool you have used? I have used various tools by which I am expected to identify and input the keyword I want to track... However, recently I was introduced to Searchmetrics, which I think automatically pulls in the keywords a website ranks for, without the need for manual input from the SEO (I haven't used this tool yet, so apologies if I am incorrect!). Do any other rank trackers work like this? Thanks, Luke

What is the average time table to boosting SEO rankings through a complete website frontend+backend refresh?
I am hoping someone who encountered a similar situation can help out. Here are the general details. Our company website is being rebuilt from the ground up - new copy, new information architecture, new theme, ideal URLs, data-driven research on search queries and keywords with an inbound marketing emphasis, CDN, the whole nine yards - as for several years under old management there was little emphasis on beating competition in the search results, or really on any of the fundamentals that matter. The only thing that cannot be reset, and will need to be tackled over time, is a link profile audit and weeding out the bad backlinks accrued over a decade. We are in a very small niche, and even with impeded website design, copy, content and misaligned architecture, we are still somewhat competitive vis-a-vis our competitors, just not top-3 triangle competitive for the terms that really matter. In addition, nearly all of our competitors do not (or at least do not appear to) optimize for SEO and UX, they just happened to choose to include terms in the copy that prospects would use when searching, rather than worrying about the semantics of branding (as in our old management's iron clad preference). Can someone here give an indication of when we would see rankings begin to improve in the search engine results pages upon completion and deployment of the new website? I understand I could be looking at up to a 6-month window, but I am looking for a definitive answer to tell my bosses, who may be expecting an immediate boost in the rankings.

Any reasons why social media properties are ranking higher than the site's own name?
The site below has social media properties and other sites coming up before it's own listing even for the exact search of the site name. Any ideas why this is happening? Link Any input is appreciated.

Better SEO Option, 1 Site 3 Subdomains or 4 Separate Sites?
Hey Mozzers, I'm working with a client who wants to redo their web presence. They have a a main website for the umbrella and then 3 divisions which have their own website as well. My question is: Is it better to have the main site on the main domain and then have the 3 separate sites be subdomains? Or 4 different domains with a linking structure to tie them all together? To my understanding option 1 would include high traffic for 1 domain and option 2 would be building Page Authority by having 4 different sites linking to each other? My guess would be option 2, only if all 4 sites start getting relevant authority to make the links of value. But right out of the gates option 1 might be more beneficial. A little advice/clarification would be great!

How do you prevent the mobile site becoming a duplicate of the full browser site?
We have a larger site with 100k+ pages, we need to create a mobile site which gets indexed in the mobile engines but I am afraid that google bot will consider these pages duplicates of the normal site pages. I know I can block it on the robots.txt but I still need it to be indexed for mobile search engines and I think google has a mobile crawler as well. Feel free to give me any other tips that I should follow while trying to optimize the mobile version. Any help would be appreciated 🙂

Can I Improve Organic Ranking by Restrict Website Access to Specific IP Address or Geo Location?
I am targeting my website in US so need to get high organic ranking in US web search. One of my competitor is restricting website access to specific IP address or Geo location. I have checked multiple categories to know more. What's going on with this restriction and why they make it happen? One of SEO forum is also restricting website access to specific location. I can understand that, it may help them to stop thread spamming with unnecessary Sign Up or Q & A. But, why Lamps Plus have set this? Is there any specific reason? Can I improve my organic ranking? Restriction may help me to save and maintain user statistic in terms of bounce rate, average page views per visit, etc...
