Ecommerce data in universal analytics
-
Does any have the same issue. We are tracking e-commerce data in GA universal. We are finding that sales are being recorded on the day of the sale and again a few days later. It does only seem to be 1 or 2 sales that do this not all.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Much appreciated.

I have this issue and for a couple of reasons:
The first being someone adds something to the order after they place it. This is the most common for me. Because the order is already placed and has the same order number, it just puts the whole thing back through Analytics.
The second time I see this happening is when someone uses Paypal. It is recorded once when the order is placed and when we get the transaction from Paypal and enter it into our website.
The third time I see this is when there is unusual change to the order, like a return, a discount added, a cancellation. If you track your revenue by Sales Performance you will be able to filter out the old orders by order number. It is a little time consuming, but you will get the clear picture. You can export the data to excel and remove duplicates, or filter them out manually if you do this daily like I do. If you do it by month it is easier to filter out the duplicates with the "remove duplicates" tool.
Oh, I have found this is most common with users who are in IE, Safari or Opera. I am not sure why, I don't see it happening a lot in Chrome or Firefox.

I'd agree with Max.
My initial thought is that somehow, the conversion to purchase tracking code is being triggered (properly) when the end user places an order and gets to the order success / confirmation page.
It's possible that when you are processing the order for shipment, or something like that, you are inadvertently triggering the same code? It could also be possible that the end user, going into their account to check on shipping status, etc, is re-invoking the trigger for the conversion to purchase / eCommerce order.
I hope that helps...

Check your tracking code. Never seen that happen to me.

Problems with analytics, conversation data and assisted conversions
Hi guys. Having issues with analytics. Firstly, it doesn't record all our sales accurately. My boss downloaded a sales report directly from our site, and it doesn't match up to the analytics, our actual sales were significantly higher than Google analytics was reporting (by about a 1/3). Any idea why Google is missing so many of the conversions? Also, I'm trying to work our how many assisted conversion we are getting from our ad words campaigns. I've been looking through our top conversion path data to try find conversions that started with a paid click. However, I seem to have some inconsistencies. We have only one ad words group that is on the display network (Re-marketing V1 Ad group 1) , and according to analytics we have a conversion from it (See Screen shot 1). However, there is no record of this in our ad words data. (See screen shot 2). This is over the same time period. I don't know what to take from this. Can anyone help? Isaac. Universal Analytics - is it awarding traffic incorrectly ?
A few days ago deployed a new site. A funny thing happened within one day. Google Analytics commenced reporting Organic traffic as lifting by 25%. At the same time Google Analytics commenced reporting that direct traffic dropped by 25%. All other traffic sources remained at the same level. This is all being reported through GA Universal. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice is appreciated. Also noted that with Google Webmaster is reporting, since the day of the new site deployment, a 40% drop in impressions and click. Reported referrals on this deployment day also went through the roof. All of the Google tools I am depending on are not supporting my discovery of a solution to this. If anyone has been through this on universal analytics or traditional analytics please help! Offering lots of good karma points in return. Cheers.

Different transaction data social channel on Google Analytics
Hi there, On my ecommerce, in order to find out the number of transactions that came directly from my social channels I go to Acquisition->Channels and then I look at the column Transactions for the Social channel. Surprisingly this number differ from the one that I find under Acquisition->Social->Overview and then I select Transaction under Conversions. Then I look at Last interaction Social Conversions to find the number of transactions. The two quantities are totally different for a month window and they should be the same. Can any of you explain to me the reason why? Thanks and regards

Google Analytics Content Experiments
Has anyone else found that Google Analytics Content Experiments seems to quite quickly favor the best performing variant in an experiment, and then show that variant many times more often than other/s - not split the traffic evenly? What is Google's thinking behind 'optimizing' during an experiment? It seems odd to me.

Funnels and Analytics
I want to see how much money a page is making. So how many people convert from that page. Do I need to create a funnel for all the category pages? That would be many many funnels. Thanks!
