Long tail searches
-
I maintain a site that provides access to bankruptcy records. I want to try an optimize the site for searches involving the case name and generic terms like "bankruptcy filing". So, the keyword would be "(case name) bankruptcy filing". How do I use Moz to help when the number of case names is high (100,000+)? Any other suggestions for what to do when working on long tail matches?

I see. So Moz's rank tracking tool is probably better utilized for tracking more generic terms like things you'd have at a category level, "[some county's] bankruptcy filings" vs the specific item level pages within your site. The information you can get on those is more readily available in something like Google Analytics; for example, you could run a report that is filtering just the item level pages and check their level of organic visits. Cheers!

Thank you for sharing the links. I'll definitely take a look.

Thank you for your reply. Your comments seems to fit into the category of "Link Building" which I am planning to develop.
My question was more about how to your the tools that Moz offers when dealing with long tail matching. For example, it makes no sense for me to run a campaign for "Tallawah Veterinary Services bankruptcy filing", but I do want to see how the site ranks among "* bankruptcy filing".
How do I do this with Moz?

A big factor that can really help with long tail matches is getting a few quality backlinks to the specific long tail pages, and the best way to do this is by proving that your site will be a reliable resource to the type of people that would link to it. Wikipedia is an excellent example of this model. People linking there always know what they're linking to and that the page won't change or crash. In your instance, how are you going to get people linking to your copy of the case, versus the government hosted one, like so: https://www.ustaxcourt.gov/InOpHistoric/DynamoHoldingsLPDiv.Buch.TC.WPD.pdf
Solving that will go miles in solving your long tail.

0 search volume for every keyword?
Hi, I've just joined Moz and every keyword I am searching for is showing 0 monthly search volume. I've tried popular words like 'dogs' or 'pizza' and they're still showing as 0 searches? How do I fix this? TImJxya

Is Search Visibility giving a fair comparison with your competition?
I dived into the Search Visibility metric and what it actually says. In short, I believe it to be an aggregated score for all keywords targeted. However, our list of targeted keywords also include specific 'branded' keywords (and e.g. names of company leaders), which (presumably) aren't targeted by our competition. So what does the comparison with our competitors (i.e. Search Visbility x Competition graph) actually tell us? Isn't it giving a skewed impression? (Or are keywords labeled as 'branded' not taken into consideration in the Search Visibility metric?)

Error Selecting Search Engine During Moz Campaign Set-Up
Hi, I'm setting up a Moz campaign for a new client, and when I get to the third step, "Choose the search engines for which you would like to track rankings," there's nothing to select. No drop down, or anything, just a blank field under the heading. If I try to advance, I get an error pop-up that says I must select a search engine. Has anyone else run into this problem? What should I do? GlWPAsc zAmzqFf

I signed up for a free trial yesterday. Today I wanted to analyze some Twitter accounts and got a message that I had reached my daily quota after only two searches! What's going on?
When I first discovered Followerwonk, I searched 15 accounts before reaching my daily quota. Now that I have signed up for a Pro account, how come I can only search two? How come there's any daily limit at all now?

How long does it usually take Moz to populate information for a new Web site?
We recently launched (9/13/2013) an e-commerce Website and added the campaign to SEO MOZ. Week after week the Domain Rank is 1 and none of our keyword stats or link stats are populated. We have another Moz campaign that posts weekly updates and is doing extremely well. I'm just wondering how long it usually takes Moz to start populating all the analysis stats? I'm also wondering if there might be a campaign setting buried somewhere that I need to enable or maybe it just takes more than 5 weeks? Any insights would be much appreciated. Here's the new URL we need to track with MOZ: http://www.imsportshq.com

Everything is empty, no stats displayed for 3 days. How long it takes for data to appear?
Everything in my Moz Analytics campaign is empty. Shows either "-" or "0". How long does it take for some data to appear? 3 days ago I have set up the Campaign, connected Google Analytics, Set up keywords, etc. Every day I receive 4 copies of same identical email from Moz, "New Crawl Complete for ..." I go to moz analytics and nothing has changed. Still zeroes and no data. So Moz Analytics doesn't do anything, doesn't show any stats, sends multiple bogus emails. Looks like moz analytics is totally broken? Not even beta quality. Yet to sign up I had to provide my credit card.
