Best way to automize generation of google ads - API, scripts etc.
-
I am in the process of setting up a fresh adwords account for a recently launched ecommerce site with about 3000 products and would like to automize the generation of the ads based on a spreadsheet of our product database.
I would like to have full control over the code to generate these ads and a programmer with knowledge in SOAP and javscript would be availlable to assist in implementation.
Any recommendations? Would you use adwords API or rather adword scripts?
Do you know whether there may be any existing code for doing this that we could just adapt to our requirements? -
Alick & IssueTrack are right on point regarding ad copy. The reason no one has automated ad copy or adwords management yet (to complete non-human interaction automation) is because it generates zero results. If you're looking to be very hands off with the account, you should set your expectations now that it's not going to do what you want it to do.
I think what you're primarily seeking are the Google Product Listing Ads. After your one time setup you shouldn't have to edit them again, but they need to be managed on an ongoing basis by a human with the knowledge of how to make them profitable and generate the volume you need.
Each time you update your product feed in the Google Merchant account, it will be translated into your ads - but that doesn't mean your bids have decreased with trending amounts of merch on hand. And when you add new products, your ads won't auto-populate.
I would recommend github for finding a developer if you still want to continue on with this course of action. I haven't tried it, but I think that an API would be better than a script for what you think you want to accomplish.

thanks. I see your point regarding effective ad copy, but in our case the time saving would be valued higher than perfectly optimized ads for each individual item. Setting up 3000 individual product adgroups in 10 languages would just take really a lot of time.
This was actually also the only script that I had found in my former google search.
You have to pay at least 1 month subscription of 250USD to get access to the script which seems reasonable (scripts not available in free trial).I was just surprised that I could not find any other options for doing this automization, as I thought that there should be many website owners being interested in such an automized setup.

The only thing I can add to Alick300's response is that I would try A/B testing with ads you create vs ads created automatically and compare effectiveness. I believe it would benefit all of us if you would share your results here too.

Hi,
I would never suggest to do generate Ads using script because by using that I don't think you can create effective Ad copy. But you asked about the script so I am providing the script with details how to use that but not sure whether it is paid or unpaid, haven't used ever. you can check yourself.

Website is flagged as Compromised Site by Google
Hi everyone, We have been running Google Ads for a while now and last week all of our Google Ads were paused with reason Compromised Site. We reached out to Google and they identify this page as one of the affected page: https://manpower.com.vn/vi/dich-vu-san-dau-nguoi-and-tu-van-nhan-su-cap-cao? The malicious links they found are:

• googie-anaiytics[.]com
• vty68[.]net We have asked our Website vendor to scan and they found nothing. We would be greatly appreciated if you could help. I tried Google Search Console and even the tool Google Safe Browsing that Google itself suggested but both the tools showed that our website does not have any malicious links at all. And yet Google Ads support team keeps telling us our page contains these links. I am wondering if anyone in the community has experienced this before and how did you address this issue. Or could you guys please help to share any tools that you know can do a deep scan on this page and if possible our entire website to help us identify where the links are located? Please let me know if you need any additional information from us and I would be happy to provide it.3 -
Google Adwords GEO Targeting Via Checkin
Hi There, I have done a fair bit of searching for the answer to my question but to no avail, maybe it's not possible. With Google AdWords is it possible to target check-ins to premises. So say someone visits a place or checks-in, they get to a see an Ad. I can't see how it would be possible but maybe they have Googled the business, then they walk in and Google shows the ad based on IP address. So for example. people who visited the Rose & Crown in York could be shown hangover cures the next day, whilst they are laid-up in bed? Cheers Mozzers. Neil

How to track in Google Analytics 2 different subdomains (one for website, the other for PPC landing pages)
Hello Mozers! I have a website with organic visits/goals on www.site.com and a few AdWords Campaign landing pages on lp.site.com whose goals are tracked with both adwords conversion monitoring AND analytics (not imported from analytics into Adword). The landing pages of the campaign have nothing to do with the web site (different cms, they don't link each other, totally isolated) and viceversa. Given that, what would it be the best practice to configure Google Analytics to track the website (www.site.com) AND a PPC campagin (lp.site.com)? I have been told to set up different views of the same property, but do I really need that? Please let me know what are you thinking. Thank you very much. DoMiSoL Rossini

Put AdWords mobile ads in separate Campaign or AdGroup?
We want to ramp up traffic from the segment "Mobile with Full Browser" under enhanced campaigns in Google AdWords. Our Google rep said that it would be best to do this from within the same campaign. We're contemplating pulling the mobile traffic conversion effort out into its own campaign in order to more easily track performance. Background: We bid down traffic from "Mobile with Full Browser" to -100% because initially it performed poorly. We've improved our mobile experience and we want to try again. We're contemplating building mobile versions of our current ads using the AdWords functionality that does this, and watching how the mobile ads and the segment "Mobile with Full Browser" responds this time. Separate campaign or from within the same campaign. What would you do? Thanks,

Have you used an ad network other than Google Adwords?
We received a cold call from a company called Division-D. They make a lot of promises which sound good (but that's what marketers do 🙂 ). Advertising on a non-Google network probably would have fewer restrictions than an Adwords campaign and they say that they are fully transparent. Would it be worth it to listen to their whole pitch?

How does this company have more characters than allowed on Google Ads?
I thought this was weird and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this... I attached the image so you can see what I mean. How does this company get away with having more characters than what Google Adwords allows? And why is there a "block ads from" thing underneath this ad, but not the others? Sorry for the bad arrow, I'm on Windows XP lol Thanks you 🙂 G2d9gIr.jpg

Facebook PPC. Using Google URL Builder - Now What?
Hey There! So I've been trying some FB PPC ads. I recently learned I needed to use Google's URL builder to add the appropriate tracking fields into the URL (source, campaign, etc). The FB ad link now uses a custom URL with all the correct parameters. Now what do I do in analytics? Do I create a filter? A goal? Getting a little dizzy going in circles with google analytic help, and I'm hoping someone here can direct me. Thanks! -Dan
