Should I pay to be in the Yahoo! Directory or whatever it is now?

I've been trying to find a definite answer and have had no luck. The $300 a myear isn't an issue, but if being in the directory ads no value I'd just as well keep that money.

I am looking for a comprehensive list of directories (if there is one).

You should definitely cancel it Andrew. It's not worth it. And not easy to cancel. Go to Yahoo help and type SLN14163 in the search window to be taken to a page with cancellation instructions. Intuitive right?

I would think there would be no SEO value in it. Google frowns upon paid links so I am sure they treat that directory accordingly. As far as click through value I do not know.

I'm new to moz and trying to go through some of the tools. I was looking at the link analysis and I had a couple questions I don't see any links from good sites that do show up in my webmaster tools - wordpress, yahoo, pinterest. Just a bunch of spammy sites that I've been trying to shake off for years now and even though we've completely redesigned the entire site they're still there. I have 21 links from my own domain. What I'm struggling to understand however is how to know which directories are worth listing with and which may get the company a slapped wrist from Google. Paying for directory inclusion
I just wanted to see what the general opinion was on paying for directory entries. How high should the PR be to justify paying for it? Or how much is justifiable for entry into a directory with a lower PR? I have recently submitted my site to Yahoo Directory but I have only seen my rankings increase in the Yahoo search engine. My Yahoo Directory listing isn't being indexed by Google - what do to?
I couldn't find this elsewhere in Q&A...so here goes. I recently (a couple of months back) shelled out $300 for a Yahoo Directory listing. My site got included, but my PageRank didn't budge. Figuring it may take a while, I kept on checking Google's index for the link - still nothing. Now it seems as if some Yahoo & other directory categories are excluded from the Google Index, rendering the links useless from a PR point of view. Anything I can do about this? I've heard of suggestions like linking to the specific page of the category where I'm listed, in the hope Google will crawl and re-index, but I don't know. Any thoughts / suggestions? BTW the directory category link is: http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Business_to_Business/Communications_and_Networking/Telecommunications/Wireless/Software. Thanks in advance...
