Hi there
I am going to echo Martijn's question here - it's kind of hard to follow what you mean.
For me, making sure information on your social profiles are up to date, correct, and verified helps search engines connect information back to your brand's online presence.
If you want to track the performance of your social platforms you can take a look at Social Analytics, tagged URLs for posts, Buzzsumo for performance and competitor research, and Followerwonk for Twitter analytics.
I would also make sure you learn more about Facebook Insights and Google+ Insights so you can learn more about your performance on those platforms.
Again, you're not using social for link building, you're using social to build brand awareness and engage directly with your target audience. You're humanizing your brand.
Hope this helps a bit! Good luck!

What exactly do you mean with social backlinks? Social is obviously a part of our 'link building' but more to get more attention to our posts hoping that they'll start linking to it.

Can someone clear up social signals as a ranking factor?
I'm aware that Google have addressed this before and specifically said that social signals are not a ranking factor: http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/news/2325343/matt-cutts-facebook-twitter-social-signals-not-part-of-google-search-ranking-algorithms However I came across this (admittedly great) infographic from Neil Patel, an SEO I have a lot of respect for: http://www.quicksprout.com/2014/01/31/how-social-signals-impact-search-engine-rankings/ In the post he specifically states that "both Google and Bing use data from social sites in order to determine how high to rank your website." I have always understood that social signals help drive links by spreading your content to a bigger audience, thereby getting your content in front of people who are likely to link. I also appreciate that content that is shareable is also likely to be linkworthy. However. Neil doesn't talk about correlation here, he talks about social signals as a ranking factor. Is he being misleading, or has the game changed since Matt Cutts said they don't use social signals?

Monitor Social Traffic
SocialAppsHQ has revised their pricing plans. https://www.socialappshq.com/home/pricing?utm_medium=email&utm_source=pricechange We have been using both their Apps and Social Monitoring. The Apps has worked pretty well for us and the revised pricing will actually be cheaper for us, so I'll likely continue with that feature. As for the Social Monitoring, perhaps I'm not using it effectively, but I get notice of social traffic too late to be really useful. To help generate viral lift in Twitter, for example, I need to be notified within an hour or so that someone has mentioned our product. If I am notified eight hours after the original tweet, then many on the east coast are already asleep and I can't retweet effectively until the next day, and it looses impact when the discussion is cold. Also, the revised pricing makes this feature much more expensive for us. What services can you recommend that will give us rapid notification of search phrases on FB and Twitter? Best,

How to reach beyond main social accounts
My blog is still very young - and I feel like a total newbie, but I'm working at it consistently. I've got 21 posts that I've put up since the beginning of January (except for 2 from October) and another in the pipeline and of course, plans to continue on this way. I've been building up my confidence and feel like it's just about time to branch out farther than my Google+, FaceBook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts (which I've been doing regularly). My hope is to gain more visitors by publicizing the posts in some other environments. I would so appreciate some suggestions on how I might do that. And also, is it too soon? I don't want to jump the gun before there's an respectable/acceptable amount of content.
