heheh well I'd love that 47 not found could be "lots" by the way, where are thos links coming from? What you have to bear in mind is that it's not the same if the 404 is caused by internal or external linking.
If internal, then you have to see which page is creating the 404 and fix it
If external you have to ask the webmaster for fixing the link and meanwhile have the 301 in place so you can save the value of those links..

Hey guys...wonder if I could bother you again on this...in webmaster tools, I am getting lots of "URL Errors"
47 Not Found
8 Soft 404
Most are dated recently, within last month or so....what am I doing wrong?

I would not no index any pages, this sounds like a job for a canonical tag.
if you do decide to noindex pages, make sure you noindex, follow, you never want links pointing to no nofolow pages as they pour away link juice into the ether. if you make sure they are follow the link juice will pour back thought the out links on the pages.
I crawled your site and did not find any links pointing to those urls.
I did find a lot of other problems, the worse being 100 broken links, and 160 unnecessary redirects.

Hey, I can't find them on your site.
Is it possible that those pages are part of an older version of your site? I can only see /category/ folder but google definitely indexed 600 of your urls containing such tag.
As Patrick said I really recommend you to noindex all archive, category and tag pages as they are just thin pages useful for user navigation but not for google.
After you have added the noindex tag you may ask google to remove them from index and you'll ahve your issues solved

Hi there
With tag pages you should noindex these. They serve no purpose in the SERPs, you only want your quality pages to be indexed.
That being said, I would also check your sitemap to make sure that these tag URLs aren't listed and prioritized. Try that and see if this clears the issue up. Here's a resource.
Hope this helps - good luck!

Non-standard HTML tags in content
I had coded my website's article content with a non-standard tag <cnt>that surrounded other standard tags that contained the article content, I.e.</cnt> , . The whole text was enclosed in a div that used Schema.org markup to identify the contents of the div as the articleBody. When looking at scraped data for stories in Webmaster Tools, the content of the story was there and identified as the articleBody correctly. It's recently been suggested by someone else that the presence of the non-standard <cnt>tags were actually making the content of the article uncrawlable by the Googlebot, this effectively rendering the content invisible. I did not believe this to be true, since the content appeared to be correctly indexed in Webmaster Tools, but for the sake of a test I agreed to removing them. In the last 6 weeks since they were removed, there have been no changes in impressions or traffic from organic search, which leads me to believe that the removal of the <cnt>tags actually had no effect, since the content was already being indexed successfully and nothing else has changed.</cnt></cnt> My question is whether or not an encapsulating non-standard tag as I've described would actually make the content invisible to Googlebot, or if it should not have made any difference so long as the correct Schema.org markup was in place? Thank you.

Competitor Recently Changed his Title to Match Mine
Hey Mozsters, I'm competing with one website for a niche, he's currently beating me and recently changed his Title to match mine exactly. Are there any negative repercussions from this? Should I change mine so users aren't confused? Why would someone do this?

One H1 tag Dead Long Live multiple H1 tags?
Good afternoon from 9 degrees C mostly cloudy Wetherby UK, Ive been holding on to the mantra of one h1 tag per page but a developer has challenged me on this by stating you can have multiple h1 tags on the condition the page is HTML 5 & each h1 tag is within its own section or article tag. So the question is do i need to change my tune? Thanks in advance, David

Google showing former meta tags in search results inspite of new tags being crawled by it
I had changed the meta tags for a site www.aztexsodablast.com.au about a month back and Google has also crawled those new tags but in search results when I search for the term 'Aztex Sodablast' it is continuing to show the old tags while on the site, the new tags are being displayed. What may be the issue and how could I correct the problem?
