How to track offline conversions
-
What are the best ways to track offline conversions that have come directly from paid ads such as Adwords?
Say for example, John searches for 'luxury armchair' and clicks on one of our ads and is directed to the landing page that sells the luxury armchair. John then calls us and completes the transaction over the phone.
How do we know that the advertising channel is responsible for that transaction without physically asking the customer? I know Google provide free forwarding phone numbers which can be provided in the Ads, but if they call us from the phone number we list on the website there is no way of tracking down that exact sale?
Google mentions something to do with providing a unique ID, called a "GCLID" but I'm not familiar with this or how it works.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Hi, Jasmine.
Out of all companies you have listed, which one is your favorite and why? (I assume there was a reason to switch from one to another)

Another idea to track your offline conversions could be to set up an exclusive voucher code that can be redeemed over the phone only.
Cheers

There are different solutions for different issues. The one you have specifically referenced is a offline call tracking. I have used several different companies: IfByPhone, Invoca, Mongoose Metrics, Marchex, CallTrackingMetrics. Each one offers some level of call recording and all have caller ID. Some can integrate with Google AdWords directly to see where calls came from, and others may be able to merge with your CRM. They can get pricey depending on your needs, but it's good to review everything.
With call tracking, javascript replaces your phone number with a unique call number that associates itself to that keyword's GCLID (Google CLick ID). That information is then pinged in their system and will show up in their system or in several other areas depending on your chosen settings.

Hey Joshua,
Yes, you can track your offline conversions by "GCLID" and it's indeed a worth checking channel. Check out the attached Google video for details.

Hope this helps!

There is a really simple call and form tracking service that I have started using called Whatconverts. It will automatically register a google analytics hit with the relevant campaign tags with each call and it can also send an email to ask whoever answers the call if that was a sellable lead, closed sale or a junk lead.
I just started using it though and haven't used it with any ppc yet. They have a pay as you go tear that is really affordable.
Good luck!
P.S. I'm not connected to them in any way. Just thought I'd pass it along.

How to track B2B conversions when the searcher isn't the one who transacts?
Hi, Wondering if anyone can recommend how to track B2B conversions when the searcher isn't the one who transacts? I am looking at my Adwords campaigns and I don't think the conversion is 100% right. In our industry, the eventual end user (and the person who does the search) does not have the authority to purchase the product. It is usually the purchasing department who eventually get in contact and purchase the product. Sometimes it is another company on behalf of the original company who purchase the part as we might not be on the vendor list. So, in this case, the order goes from the original searcher to their purchasing department to another company who then purchase from us. Just wondering how to track this on AdWords? Thanks

What's the best call tracking system to use for PPC & subsequent landing pages?
Client has about 30 locations. Not planning to get too fancy (i.e. like putting JS on the page so that a dynamically generated phone is displayed to track keywords). At this point, just we only want to see if PPC is providing telephone conversions. I've used Mongoose Metrics before and it seemed good. However, I don't want to go with something simply because it's what I already know. Would love to know some of your favourites and if there are better options. Also - client is in Canada. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Adwords and Analytics Conversion Tracking within Adwords
I am trying to decide whether to setup conversion tracking in Adwords using the website/page as a source, or Analytics. I do understand the (basic) difference, however in tossing up the pro's and con's of each I would be grateful for some input. The advertiser is in the (offline) retail and service industry and so conversions being tracked include completing a form, making a booking etc - so it is no problem to implement the tracking snippet. My gut instinct is that Analytics is not as accurate as a reflection as the webpage (due to the way it records only the last conversion). Would it be a mistake to use both? (my concern is that double clicks will be recorded)

Best Apps for Tracking Google Analytics, Facebook Pages, and More?
Hi! I'm looking for an iPhone app that I can set up for a client so that he can view data from Google Analytics and Facebook (new "likes," "shares", etc). Is there any such thing? I'm not a big Apple user, but he is, and I'd like to find something that would work well for him. Thanks!

Best practice to separate paid from organic conversions in Google Analytics
I have a PPC campaign for a client with standalone landing pages with a form, not reachable from the website (although in the same domain). I've added the AdWords conversion code to the "thank you" page and I also added a Goal in
Paid Search Marketing | | DoMiSoL
Google Analytics whose counter is increased every time the thank you page is reached. This way I can track conversions with both AdWords and Analytics. Is that correct? Should I import back in AdWords the goals from Analytics, as suggested in the AdWords account? I have another landing page with a form in the website, where I send users coming from
organic search, so I set up a second goal in Analytics for the thank you page of this form. Is this the reason why I am supposed to import in AdWords the analytics' goals, so that I could see both kind of conversions in both accounts? But the most important question is: If I send both PPC/organic visitors to the same landing page is there still a way to separate PPC from Organic conversions? Thank you very much for your advice. Why are my Adwords Total Estimated Conversions Less than My Phone Call Conversions?
I'm having an issue with tracking some conversions in adwords. Google Adwords is saying I have 20 estimated total conversions in an account and 26 phone conversions. Adwords is saying that the phone conversions are included in the total, so I am confused as to how the part is having a higher total than the sum. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks!

How Do You Sell View-Through-Conversions and Remarketing?
Hey Mozzers, We have a client that has spent $500 on a remarketing trial. This resulted in 4 direct sales with a revenue of $600 and 75 view through conversions. The average sale is about $150. I presented a report with a best and worst case scenario of the VTCs (that is all VTCs were responsible or no VTCs or some VTCs were a direct result of the remarketing campaign). The client needed more proof that the VTCs were a direct result of the remarketing - which I did not have. I know this was a really profitable campaign, but I just cant prove it. Has anyone had any experience with this? Or know of any good blog posts I could read up on? Thanks.
