Doctype language declaration problem
-
Hello,
I have a problem with an SEM Rush warning on a website audit, for www.enjoyprepaid.com. It tells me "5852 pages are lacking language declaration", but I don't understand what it means and how to actually fix this problem. Also I run a W3 validator and have a doctype and language problem but again don't understand what they mean and how to fix them https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.enjoyprepaid.com%2FAfghanistan-calling-cards-2.html -
Thanks Peter! The reposts were due to a bug we ran into yesterday.
I'll lock this thread to further responses.

@mods - maybe respost from here: https://moz.com/community/q/doctype-language-declaration-problem-2
I'll drop answer here too just in case you will delete old post.Yes - iso-8859-15 is very outdated encoding. Validator suggest that you should use UTF-8.I believe that this is also SEMRush issue too.
Fix just wrote this:
and bug will be fixed.

Duplicate content problem
Hi there, I have a couple of related questions about the crawl report finding duplicate content: We have a number of pages that feature mostly media - just a picture or just a slideshow - with very little text. These pages are rarely viewed and they are identified as duplicate content even though the pages are indeed unique to the user. Does anyone have an opinion about whether or not we'd be better off to just remove them since we do not have the time to add enough text at this point to make them unique to the bots? The other question is we have a redirect for any 404 on our site that follows the pattern immigroup.com/news/* - the redirect merely sends the user back to immigroup.com/news. However, Moz's crawl seems to be reading this as duplicate content as well. I'm not sure why that is, but is there anything we can do about this? These pages do not exist, they just come from someone typing in the wrong url or from someone clicking on a bad link. But we want the traffic - after all the users are landing on a page that has a lot of content. Any help would be great! Thanks very much! George

Strange problem with basic html anchor tag linking to my domain
I have some old valuable followed links from high ranking domains and I noticed from moz reports they are reporting 404.Visually they looked fne but when I clicked on those they indeed were generating 404. When I researched further they are defined as My domain.com Notice there is extra space between "/" and the closing quote. It turns out it is sending "www.mydomain.com/ " to browsers. Any ideas How to solve this? If I should put a perm redirect in apache, how do I deal with these "%C2%A0" characters. It seems the issue is happening at more than one remote domain.

I am convinced I have an internal PR problem, thoughts please?
I have lost all internal PR on my site when using the browser toolbar, only my homepage has PR now, the rest are unranked. It has been like this for a few months now. Can anyone confirm this for me please? The site is yourcityoffice.com If you have any other interesting ways to check PR that do not involve a toolbar or tool bar equivalent. Please let me know.

What is the best practice to seperate different locations and languages in an URL? At the moment the URL is www.abc.com/ch/de. Is there a better way to structure the URL from an SEO perspective?
I am looking for a solution for using a new URL structure without using www.abc.com**/ch/de** in the URL to deliver the right languages in specific countries where more than one language are spoken commonly. I am looking forward to your ideas!

Does Google count the same article in different languages as duplicate content?
If the "content" is the same, but is used in separate articles written in entirely different languages, will Google see the articles as duplicate content? How do international companies handle information that needs to be distributed in different languages?

Autoswitching of language
Hi all, I got a resort & spa hotel that has as index page an autoswitching language that redirects you to EN if you're English, ITA if you're italia, ESP, RU etc etc. Does this affects the ranking? The root index.php only has this programming lines that redirect users to their browser language. This was done cause we really hate intro pages that lets you select language.
