Ranking opportunity if we omit county in citations
-
I am looking to rank highly in local search for Birkenhead but have not currently filled in the county on Google + so Moz local is not picking the county up.
I am wondering whether I should continue and keep the county off there as there is a potential problem: on our website we are listed as being based in the Wirral and we are also based in a county called Merseyside so have two different possible citations.
We are ranking well for the term Wirral and do not want to effect this. I am thinking of building citations without Wirral or Merseyside and was wondering if anyone can advise?
The address that I have in the citation would be - business name, building number, Birkenhead then Wirral or Merseyside and post code.
I am currently using business name, building number, Birkenhead and post code and we want to rank highly for Birkenhead.
Could anyone advise me here?
The Wirral is a peninsular as can be seen on Wilipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_Borough_of_Wirral

Great answer thank you.
Can anyone advise me on this?

Hi Stephen,
My apologies, but I am simply not very familiar with geographic designations in your country. In the US, Local SEO geared toward local pack rankings is totally hinged on cities, never counties. If counties are an important search term for your business, you can make an organic effort in that regard with content you build on your website to reflect these terms, but the core of your Local SEO will be city-based, not county-based, and will apply to the city/cities in which you are physically located.
I hope you'll receive further feedback from the community.

GMB Account Fallen Off Rankings in past 24 hours
My map pack presence has fallen off the face of the earth over the last 24 hours. My location The Escape Game Chicago was top 3 yesterday for 'escape room chicago' and now they only show up when searching for the exact brand name. What's weirder is I still rank #1 organically for that keyword.I have looked through the account, nothing seems to be totally amiss. Google has not notified me of any issues or penalties. I have no clue what happened. Can anyone point me in the right direction or provide some insight as to how I can recover my ranking?

How to rank local keywords?
Hi guys, I have been enjoying here to be a part of the community. A simple question: I have some local low volume keywords and want to rank on 1 with all. I have set up pages according to the keywords such as "california plumbers" and page is /california-plumbers.html To rank these types of keywords I am doing local listing and adding these particular page instead of "home page". Am I doing right? Would classifieds and local listings are suffice to get these keywords on 1 spot of Google? What else can I do? Can you suggest me some queries to find "deep local directories or classified or other stuff whereby I can target my pages? Thank you in advance for ideas.

Client in Scotland wants to rank for France term
We have a client who's head office is based in Scotland but they want to rank for France related keywords for their chalets that are in France. They only have chalets in France and will never have chalets anywhere else. As a business they have always used their Scotland address when the brand is mentioned and their Scotland address is used in the site footer. But as they want to rank for France related terms and nothing for Scotland, I'm wondering if I should use their France address instead or in addition across their site footer, on social media channels and across the web where possible?

Do you need contact details (NAP) on every page of your website for local search ranking ?
We’ve got a clients site which doesn't have the contact details on every page, all the contact details are on the /contact page which is using the schema.org local business markup Some sites that our outranking us locally have their contact details on all pages, where as others only have it on the contact page also. Is having your contact details on every page a ranking factor for local search ?

Should I use a vanity address when creating local citations?
My client is opening a new location of their business in the Dallas area and has listed the location on their website under Dallas, but their technical address is Farmers Branch. They have not started any citation building efforts, so I will be creating all citations from scratch. Should I create citations using the vanity address containing Dallas or list Farmers Branch as the city?

Consistant citations for Local SEO
Hi Guys - Ive got a tricky question. I want to create correct and consistent citations for this business http://www.singlewellcarsales.co.uk/ However theres a twist, the website is called ‘Singlewell Car Sales Ltd’ but they also have a service centre called ‘Singlewell Service Centre Ltd’ so in theory two business names under one website. We want to treat them as two separate businesses when adding to local directories. We also want to create two local Google pages. Both divisions share the same website, and address but include a different telephone number and business name. I want to use Schema mark up on the website to reference both business names so that Google can make a link between the name and various local citations NAP. My main questions is, can you use Schema two mark up two business names under one website? or will Google get confused and regard it as duplicate or inconsistent citations? Many Thanks Jon Rayner

Google Local Listing Ranking/Traffic Metrics in the Google Search Console?
A client of mine asked me if it was possible to see local listing data (ranking/traffic stats) in the Google Search Console for a URL. I figured the Google Search Console only shows organic metrics not 3-pack/local listing performance. However I could be mistaken. Does the Google Search Console report this?

Will local optimization effect international ranking?
Lets say a company serves Canada and US customers regularly, but they are based in Canada. They currently have no local optimization or confirmation of their location on their website. If I were to begin local optimization (google my business, local content, link building, schema etc), would Google recognize this website as a Canadian business and remove rankings in the US that it is currently appearing in now without any locational information?
