Measure traffic from serp feature
-
Hey
Does anyone know if there's a way of measuring traffic coming through serp features? I know that you can get some info on SEMrush but not traffic coming from those specific results like stories and instant answers. Thanks!
-
Thanks, Andy! I'm more looking into traffic coming from SERP features, I don't think you can get this info in GSC, but please let me know if I'm wrong!
-
Thanks, Brett!
Definitely not the answer I wanted to hear, but the one I was expecting tbh I know you can track SERP features on SEMrush, but this will only tell you for which keywords you rank with SERP features, it doesn't give any information re traffic. I will keep researching this and if I come across any relevant information I will share it here!

This isn't the answer you want to hear, but I don't believe there is a way to do this. There is a way to see search traffic coming from different Google properties by removing Google as a search engine in Google Analytics. All traffic from different Google properties then shows up as referral traffic (so for example, I'd get to see traffic coming from images.google.com and traffic from google.fr, instead of everything showing up as Google/Organic).
But SERP features exist on google.com, meaning this is something that won't show up under sources because whether traffic clicks through on the SERP feature or your link, it's still coming from Google/Organic, and altering your settings so it shows up as referral it would still show up as traffic from google.com. Thinking about the way analytics collects data I don't think there's a way for us to determine a click through from a SERP feature unless Google provides that specificity.
If you find any information to the contrary, please share it here, because I'd love to dive into this myself if it's available!

Hi Anna,
It would be worth checking out Search Console and head into Search Traffic > Search Analytics.
You can then look at the Queries and see which terms are driving the most traffic - and those that are driving the least! Lots of other interesting information in there too.

Scary Traffic Drop — Slower at First, Now Much Sharper
Hi. My website, dailytekk.com, has been steadily losing viewers since April. In recent weeks, though, the drop has been much more significant — scarily so. Almost all our traffic comes from Google, organically. In the last 30 days I've lost 135k page views. I'm not sure if we just have content that is getting old, if Google changed something in the algorithm, if we are being penalized, if AMP pages are having a negative effect, etc. I would love to find a great consultant to help us figure this out and get back on the right track. We seem to be losing traffic despite our best efforts at this point. Thanks, Chris

Seeing massive spikes in direct traffic with 100% bounce rates
Hi all, Looking through Analytics yesterday, I saw that my website had a huge increase in direct traffic in sessions. However, they apparently spent 0 seconds on the website in total so that raised plenty of red flags. Does anyone have reasons why this might be? Spam or bug? Thanks in advance!

What does WMT measure against for search query fluctuation?
Hi guys, I always thought that when checking out search queries on Webmaster Tools that it measured change per week. However, I noticed that my impressions and clicks were actually up but WMT was reporting that they were down over a week so it can't be that. Does anyone know? Attached screenshot for clarity. Thanks in advance! XkWANTo_

Google Shopping tracking as organic traffic - help!
Hey guys, I have an eCommerce client who sometimes runs Google PLA and Google Shopping campaigns. However, we don't run his AdWords for him, just do his SEO. At the moment, the Shopping campaigns track as organic traffic within Analytics. And I can't see any way to change this! It's so infuriating. How do I change this? Thanks!

Big Traffic Drops in Bing
I have a client that has been struggling with their organic traffic the over the past several months. We figured they had been hit by Penguin and some of Google's other algo changes...But I just dug in a little deeper in Google Analytics, and their traffic is actually up year over year for Google organic, but they are down 75% + for both Bing and Yahoo organic. They drop seemed to occur around April, 2012, and they have rapidly lost Bing and Yahoo traffic ever since. Can anyone help explain why this might be happening? A Bing and Yahoo algo update? Or just fewer people using those search engines possibly? I'm not quite sure how to make up for all the lost traffic in Bing and Yahoo. Any suggestions are appreciated!

No (Not Provided) Traffic
Hi All, I have a site that gets around 500,000 visits every month from the UK and US, but funny enough the number number of visits under (not provided) traffic is only 179 per month. For most websites I usually get 10% or 15% of the traffic under not provided, what could the reasons be for such a low percentage of (not provided)? Thanks, Carlos
