What does WMT measure against for search query fluctuation?
-
Hi guys,
I always thought that when checking out search queries on Webmaster Tools that it measured change per week. However, I noticed that my impressions and clicks were actually up but WMT was reporting that they were down over a week so it can't be that.
Does anyone know? Attached screenshot for clarity.
Thanks in advance!

Hi There
The screenshot doesn't seem to be working - but pretty sure this is how it works:
-
to see "with change" at all, the first date in the time period can't be more than 32 days ago (for example, today March 27th if I set start date Feb 24th or earlier, I won't get "with change")
-
it compares based upon your time range.
-
if I have Feb 27th - March 27th selected - it compares that to Feb 26th - Jan 26th (the prior 30 days).
-
if I have March 20th - March 27th selected - it compares it to March 12 - March 19th (the prior 7 days).
Hopefully that makes sense? Pretty sure that's how they are calculating it.

Thanks Leonie,
I actually meant what timeframe it measures against to show whether your clicks and impressions have increased or decreased.

Hi, you can select the timeframe on the right of the screen in WMT.
hope this is what you're looking for.
Grtz, Leonie

Organic reports showing a URL that isn't in Search Ask Question
In the image I've attached you can see that I have pulled a source/medium > google organic report. I've also made "landing page" my secondary dimension. The first landing page that is showing up is /v3/?slug=fnl, that is this page (https://orders.freshnlean.com/v3/?slug=fnl). You can see that the page has 230 sessions from Sep 3 - 9 and 17 transactions during that same time frame. The only thing is, that landing page is nowhere to be found in the SERPs. So how is it showing up in this report as having received google organic visitors that converted if it's not even in search? 05OclDp

How to measure Bounce Rate via Timeout
Hi, I want to change the way Google Analytics measures my bounce rate: after 20 seconds timeout instead of next page criteria. I know that I may do it adding some content like: setTimeout(“_gaq.push([‘_trackEvent’, ‘NoBounce’, ’20 seconds’])”,20000); But I wonder if there is some way to do it via Google Analytics configuration. Thanks in advance,

I'm concerned that I've missed something and hope that somebody out there might be able to help? Any input greatly appreciated 🙂

What are all the 5's in SEO Queries in Analytics?
Every small business client has the same thing. 5 impressions for keywords, row after row, every single month. Why exactly 5 and why month after month the same thing? I see this in every local business I work in - and for very important phrases! It's gotten to the point that I think those are fake and I just look at the impressions that have numbers great than 5. Obviously I have to get their impressions up, but what am I to believe about these?

How to measure impact of blogging on the bottom line?
I know that blogging is good, because everybody says it is. I know that I can sort out the top landing pages in Google Analytics and see how many of the entrances come through blog posts. How do I measure the impact blogging has on the bottom line? Would I sort out the entrances to blog entrances and then see how many of those visitors ultimately converted either through a micro or macro conversion? Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. How do I convince upper management of the impact of blogging?

Google encryption of search results
Hello Is there any definitive information on whether the recent changes to the way Google encrypts search results for people logged into Google affects the traffic present via the Google Adwords Keyword tool? Plus, how does SEOmoz ensure/minimise the affect of personalisation/localisation etc. on the rankings data provided via the pro tool. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Kind regards Neil
