Text over image
-
Hello,
I am creating an overlay on a image. Is it ok to write on this overlay in html or it is better to have the text not on a image for google and other search engines ?
Thank you,
-
Indeed, in JPEG format, the image takes up little space, and it is very convenient to use it for social networks. It is also worth paying attention to the resource https://depositphotos.com/stock-photos/soccer-coaching.html Ready-made pictures with ideal quality can be accessed here.

Thank you for your answers, that answers my question.

Hi There,
Yes, Google should read it fine as long as it's readable for bots. The value of your HTML overlay would be treated as a text which would be determined by the keyword optimization of that text on the page and the website altogether. That means, where have you positioned that text, what relevance that text has for the website and the content of the page; similar SEO factors would be applicable here.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Vijay

There are several image ranking factors, as far as a div class overlay on the image, It's essentially going to be looked at by the crawlers as a caption, so it's a benefit to have for sure.
-
Correct I am wondering if it is any good to add text on images. Vijay, what do you means by "HTML overlay as a direct SEO value", do you mean that google reads it fine ?
For me as long as you can copy the text that is on the image and it isn't embedded is should be ok and google probably reads it fine. However, is the value similar as if it isn't on a image, I have no idea.
Thank you,
-
Hi There,
I believe you are trying to differentiate between SEO value of text within image and text as HTML overlay over an image. The image value is decided by the alt text and media post parameters you add to an image, Google and other bots are not really reading text on the image when its inside image. On the other hand, HTML overlay has a direct SEO value and you can maximize its value by using it within the right tag (let's say Header tags).
I hope this helps, let me know if you have further questions.
Best Regards,
Vijay

Hello there,
Depends on the image, I always have an text and dark layer on my image when I use it as a background, if you use it within post it's really up to you which one to use. But make sure you also have the alt text set for the image. Personally, I would just make sure it is good for the user experience.
Hope this helps.

Alternative text vs Image title attribute
Hi there. Anyone know how important Image title attribute is ? Moz is bringing it up saying make sure my images are all title attributed as well as alternative texted but no wedding photographers mention it in SEO posts or blogs. Click on wedding photographers blogs and most don't seem to have it (Image title attribute) either but I don't want to miss anything out that I need to be doing as I am building a new site and if it needs to be done now I have the time to do it. Any advice is appreciated thank you people x

Multiple H2 with no direct links to content and invisible body text - is this an issue?
OK, so we've lost pagerank and I think it's because of the way our site works (and we operate it). We have a videofolio, which shows on most of our pages, showcasing our work. Over time, we have tended to unpublish these pages and created new videofolio pages to show on our home page and relevant pages. The videofolio is a set of pages, each with a title, body text and a place to insert a link to the video, which is played through a videofolio showcase on our website (www.curveball-media.co.uk). Each is set a category, e.g. film, and when the user clicks the tab for 'film', the thumbnails pop up and the user can play the video. We have to work it this way as it's the only way to remove the videos from showing on our home page and to show new content instead. Simply deselecting a category still allows the videos to be seen when the 'all' category is selected by the user. Last week, I found a way of bringing back these unpublished pages by removing the 'all' tab from the videofolio. Then I turned each one into a blog like structure instead. Essentially, instead of the video link being played through the videofolio, we deselected a category (e.g. animation, film etc) and left the page floating. The only way you can access it without being attached to a videofolio category is through the direct link. By turning off the 'all' category and deselecting the page from any other categories, we were able to properly SEO these pages. NB: If they are created for use with the videofolio, you can have only extremely limited body text and no H2, as this is the text that appears when you hover over the video thumbnail. That's just the nature of the template. What I didn't anticipate is that now the code on the home page shows all these now (un)published pages and their corresponding H2 tags. Without a category selected, there is no way to get to these pages unless I create a direct link. I plan to do this through a blog post. In the home page code, the entire videofolio page shows, including the body text and link to the video. **This text doesn't show on the home page though, i.e. the user never sees this text. ** 1. Is it an issue to have so many similar H2 tags on the homepage? 2. Is it an issue that the code has text which is essentially invisible on the home page? 3. Is it an issue that the content is not linked to through the home page visibly? Thanks!

Null Alt Image Tags vs Missing Alt Image Tags
Hi, Would it be better for organic search to have a null alt image tag programatically added to thousands of images without alt image tags or just leave them as is. The option of adding tailored alt image tags to thousands of images is not possible. Is having sitewide alt image tags really important to organic search overall or what? Right now, probably 10% of the sites images have alt img tags. A huge number of those images are pages that aren Thanks!

How get an image on a third party site rank high on goode images?
Hello, I have sometimes articles written about my product online, is there anything else I can do except make a good file name for it, perhaps I can ask the site owner to modify in the article to make it rank higher? Also on some small websites I can see that images rank very high for the specific search term that is difficult to rank for in images, if I were to contact the site with a sponsored post request, what I should make sure the site adds except filename to that sponsored post... I think there are also some other methods such as reddit to make images rank high on third party page, just need to find out how... thanks a lot

Anchor text questions - What are your thoughts?
Hi, I want to talk about anchor text and the effect it has on search engines (Good & Bad). Here is a fictitious example we can talk about: www.supercoolrunningsneakers.com Title Tag: Running Sneakers - The Super Trendy Running Trainers Keywords targeted: Running Sneakers, Running Trainers How would you vary your anchor text to target these terms? If you had 50 unique articles to play with how would you vary the anchor text using the articles? Would you push 25 articles at 'Running Sneakers' and the other 25 at 'Running Trainers' or would you link some articles using the domain name anchor text? Q: I'm guessing running 50 articles using anchor text 'Running Sneakers' would benefit the SERP's moe for that term then mixing it up with say 'Running Sneakers', 'Running Trainers' & 'Domain Name Links'. Cheers
