Why is my DA going down despite doing everything right?
-
I have been doing everything right that I could possibly do on my blog, tracking down and deleting broken links, writing for endless other publications to build my link profile, having an easy to read site with regularly updated content. Despite this, my DA has gone down by two. It's infuriating and I don't know why this is happening - does anyone have any ideas?

A decrease in your Domain Authority (DA) despite your efforts to improve it can be frustrating. Several factors could contribute to this situation:
Algorithm updates: Search engines like Google regularly update their algorithms, which can affect how they evaluate websites and determine DA.
Competitor activity: If your competitors are actively improving their own websites, it could impact your relative position and DA.
Technical issues: Issues with your website's technical performance, such as slow loading times or broken links, can negatively impact your DA.
Content quality: Despite your efforts, if your content quality doesn't meet the standards expected by search engines or your audience, it could affect your DA.
Backlink quality: Low-quality or spammy backlinks pointing to your website can harm your DA. It's essential to focus on acquiring high-quality backlinks from reputable sources.
Changes in search trends: Shifts in user behavior or search trends can impact your website's visibility and, consequently, your DA.
To address this issue, continue focusing on best practices for SEO, regularly monitor your website's performance, and adapt your strategies as needed. Conduct a thorough analysis of your website and its performance metrics to identify any specific areas that may need improvement. Additionally, consider seeking guidance from SEO professionals who can provide personalized advice based on your website's unique situation.

First mistake: to thing you're doing all right.
If DA is going down is because something it's not right. To think that Google made the mistake rating your page is not the right thought. The other answer saying: "SEO is a black box and sometimes weird things without explanation happen". That's bullsh***. Maybe you cannot see it, but the explanation is there.
Once said that, what I can tell you is that maybe you have been using some practices considered black had without your knowledge. Pay special attention with the external links. Well used they can bring you authority but wrong used it can hurts. Learn when to use dofollow or nofollow and how to use the anchor text.
Check the user experience: loading speed of your site, average bounce rate, average engagement time. All those parameters tell Google if users are enjoying your stuff. So check if they are in good rates.
Sometimes there's some things out of your control that can affect your DA. For example if you're sharing the host, maybe one of your "host neighbours" is doing black had, or is a porn page or violence content site. In that case you all have the same IP so you all got penalized. You can check who are you sharing host with. There online free tools that tell you that in seconds. Another option could be someone from the competition trying to hurts you in purpose. They can link to you from bad reputation sites using dofollow links. This could hurts. Check your income links in your search console maybe you can find out something suspicious.
Hope it helped

Of course, the domain is wandering-everywhere.com. I haven't used any black hat techniques to my knowledge, and don't believe that I have any spammy links. It's so low as it is and I'm really not sure what I could be doing more,
-
Any black hat techniques have been carried out on your domain? Have you checked on spammy links and used disavow tool?
Can you share the domain?
DA is a long term game, I've seen websites go down and then spike up. SEO is a black box and sometimes weird things without explanation happen.

I am running a wordpress blog and would like some advice on the best course of action. There are thousands of spam domains linking to various images on my site with the anchor text "get free high quality hd wallpaper" The webmasters for these domains are not contactable so I am planning to submit a disavow file to google. I am aware these links have negatively affected my DA so would like to do more to remove them. My questions are: will deleting the images they link to help?
As this is on a wordpress site deleting the images will result in a soft 404, should I force a hard 404 to properly break the link?
Will this positively improve my DA?1 -

My traffic keeps going down...
My website been through many changes the last 5 months. From migrating http to https, server transfer and more. Everything was double checked all the redirects are perfect (301) to the https pages (we have like 28K backlinks so everything needs to be correct), in a matter of fact the migration to ssl made in October and in November the stats went high. The problem is that at the end of November after the server migration the traffic went down and is stably down till today. We re-checked the redirects in every aspect and more in depth and finished fixing issues around end of January. Also before 1 week we stopped the functionality of a parameter (product sort) and removed it from the website entirelly and canonicaled the urls that were using it so if google tries to test those urls with the parameter to see a canonical tag and eventually drop them out of index and stop crawling them. Generally we tried to fix the crawling efficiency and speed. The technical SEO was on fire the last weeks. Still i cant see improvement in rankings, i only see drops. What is the problem here? Where should i look? Any ideas? In webmaster tools we have no 404's and no manual actions. The visibility in Sistrix goes down (check attachment), the ahrefs organic traffic goes down, semrush stats go down... My website is: https://www.pccdkeys.com ecfp87

Another client copies everything to blogspot. Is that what keeps her site from ranking? Or what? Appears to be a penalty somewhere but can't find it.
This client has a brand new site: http://www.susannoyesandersonpoems.com Her previous site was really bad for SEO, yet at one time she actually ranked on the first page for "LDS poems." She came to me because she lost rank. I checked things out and found some shoddy SEO work by a very popular Wordpress webhoste that I will leave unnamed. If you do a backlink analysis you can see the articles and backlinks they created. But there are so few, so I'm not sure if that was it, or it just was because of the fact that her site was so poorly optimized and Google made a change, and down she fell. Here's the only page she had on the LDS poems topic in her old site: https://web.archive.org/web/20130820161529/http://susannoyesandersonpoems.com/category/lds-poetry/ Even the links in the nav were bad as they were all images. And that ranked in position 2 I think she said. Even with her new site, she continues to decline. In fact she is nowhere to be found for main keywords making me think there is a penalty. To try and build rank for categories, I'm allowing google to index the category landing pages and had her write category descriptions that included keywords. We are also listing the categories on the left and linking to those category pages. Maybe those pages are watered down by the poem excerpts?? Here's an example of a page we want to rank: http://susannoyesandersonpoems.com/category/lds-poetry/ Any help from the peanut gallery?

Google + box on the right hand side
When you search on a company name in Google often the URL of the specific company is shown as 1st organic search result. Often one will also see a Google+ box on the right side when searching on a company name. This Google+ box includes a brand logo as well. Our company has also a Google+ account for several months. This page is also shown in the regular organic search results. But when I search on my specific company name, I don’t see the Google+ box on the right side of the results. However, when I search on my company name including my location, Google does show our Company information in Google Maps style, and that does include our last Google+ update as well. What do I need to do to show our Google+ information on the right side in the organic results when someone searches on our company name (without location), so our work and updates within Google+ are rewarded. Looking forward to hearing from you!

No improvement from Google penalty despite a lot of work
Hi Everyone, i hope someone can help. Our site www.danbro.co.uk suddenly dropped across all keyphrases and even our brand name on 12th April. We receieved a notification of unnatural link building and so the problem was obvious. Since then we have removed a number of old blog links, forum links that we have built up over a number of years. Once removed we sent a reconsideration. There are still a number of links we are trying (but sometimes to no avail) to remove. It is quite frustrating as we do have a number of high quality links on really relevant sites and we do update our content on a regular basis. Does anyone have any other solutions of what we can be doing? changing the domain name is not an option as it is the brand name. any help is much appreciated
