Primarily need to do competitor analysis using website traffic estimator tools.

Hi Lucywrites,
That's a great question. The best advice I can give is to:
-
Qualify the type of traffic you want. Traffic, in and of itself, is fine. But, traffic that leads to a goal is much better. If you get 1,000 visitors to your blog, what do you want them to do besides reading your content? Sign up for a newsletter? Make a purchase? Join a community? Fund you? Ask yourself: Is my content bringing qualified traffic to me, enabling me to meet my specific goals?
-
Discover the needs and desires of the audience for whom you are writing. What are they interested in? What bothers them? What amuses them? What would make their lives richer, more interesting, more successful, happier?
-
Then, look at your competitors to discover what types of content they have developed to fulfill this audience. Do you see ways you can go one better than your competitors? Is there opportunity they've left on the table? Are you a more interesting writer, more educated, more thorough, more insightful, better at graphics? What can you do that your competitors aren't?
-
Begin to build relationships in your industry/geography. When my favorite bloggers create something really good, I'm almost sure to mention it socially, and I might even include their content in the newsletters I write. When I write something really good, my favorite industry influencers often do the same for me. Figure out who you admire in your industry and be generous in sharing their very best content with your own circle of influence. Over time, perhaps you can get to know your favorite writers, and they, in turn, can get to know you and come to depend on you for quality publication of a certain kind.
Hope these suggestions help!

Hi!
There are a lot of things you can do to increase the number of visits to your blog, the first and most important one is to write high-quality content, as simple as that. Once you have a couple of really good articles that you are proud of, you can start using the social media to move them around.
Other things you can try are: targeting long-tail keywords, guest blogging and email marketing campaigns.
I hope this helps!

Traffic to blog home page is going down after changing my WordPress Theme
I recently changed my wordpress theme from a standard free theme to a newer theme. The home page I switched up a bit adding more calls to action to some of our top posts and leading people to popular categories and so on. This greatly improved the usability of our site as it allowed us to highlight new posts. The previous free template simply listed 10 of our most recent posts on a page with small snippets and then you had to move to the next page to keep reading. Since switching my theme the blog traffic has stayed relatively level. That being said, the specific posts traffic is going up a lot whereas the organic traffic to the blog homepage is now nearly depleted. Is this a common thing to happen or is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

If my blog is on Wordpress, and I've installed the AMP plug-in, what do I need to do to get Google to start indexing all my posts as AMP pages?
If I add /amp to the end of any of my posts, I can see that the plug-in is working. It's been months since I installed it, though, and Google hasn't indexed any of the AMP pages. Am I missing a step?

Advice on how to handle Guest Blogging between multiple brands
How to you manage your guest blogging efforts between companies. I blog for 4 different companies, and just started….I am confused if I should blog as myself, or should each company have an "author" set up, and then guest blog under each author? I want their website to get better rankings, and the brand to get more engagement. I am not concerned about myself and my authorship rating….but should I be? Would that be more beneficial to have all blogs tied to me, to help with engagement. Or am I shooting myself in the foot by not increasing my authorship. What's more important? Authorship or blogging about the relevant content from the author that makes the most sense? Just looking for tips from anyone that has to blog under different brands. How do you do it?!?! (also, looking into myguestblog plugin)

Good Morning... I have multiple blogs that all relate to the same industry and products... The blogs all have unique content, they do not have duplicate content... Is there a way to share the information or link from one to the other without being seen as someone trying to manipulate anything? The goal is to keep each blog updated frequently, but I can only write so much unique content... can i somehow share the content? Please provide any feedback or advice... Thanks

Does having blog on subdomain weaken primary site's SEO?
I have a Joomla site with a WordPress subdomain that I'm wanting to use as a learning center. It's far more simple for new blog editors and publishers to learn that over Joomla. The issue I'm facing is trying to figure out rather having the blog put into the primary domain instead of a subdomain will hurt my ratings at all? Where I got the idea that it may hurt ratings is due to how (from what I understand) search engines will see a subdomain slightly different than the primary domain. Thank you for any help!

Second Blog on the Same Site? Best SEO Practice
I would like to start up another blog which has more of a "technical" topic coverage vs my regular blog, which appeals more to non-techie business folks. If the goal is to drive traffic ultimately to the main site, should I do this second blog on a different domain, a subdomain, or try to incorporate it as a separate-but-equal blog on the same domain as the currrent one? What would you do?

Blogging competition - risky link acquiring method?
We are planning to launch a competition where bloggers can blog about our products and about our company. One winner will be selected to win a gift card to our web shop. In order to participate the blogger has to put a link to the blog post that points to our front page or into one of our product pages. Does Google have a guideline against such "link acquiring" methods?
