Unsolved Duplicate Content
-
We have multiple collections being flagged as duplicate content - but I can't find where these duplications are coming from? The duplicate content has no introductory text, and no meta description. Please see examples:-
This is the correct collection page:-
https://www.ardmoor.co.uk/collections/deerhunterThis is the incorrect collection page:-
https://www.ardmoor.co.uk/collections/vendorsHow do I stop this incorrect page from showing?
-
@Caroline_Ardmoor remove the incorrect page. I see that duplicate content is in some of the products listed. If you want to keep the incorrect page (vendors) you will need to put meta info and an intro. Also fix indexing so it's the url but vendors/brand name. Could be other issues as well so email should you need more help.

Ok to have multiple domains w/ seperate websites rank for similar keywords?
Is it Ok to have multiple domains (separate website different content) rank for similar keywords? Is it 'OK' to have multiple domains in the following instance? Does Google actively discourage multiple (but completely different sites) domains from the same company appearing in the search results for the same and or similar keywords if the content is slightly different? This is where the 'main site' has the details, and you can purchase product, and the second site is a blog site only. We are creating a separate content blogsite; which would be on a second domain that will be related to one portion of content on main site. They would be linking back and forth, or maybe the blog site would just link over to the main site so they can purchase said product. This would be a similar scenario to give you an idea of how it would be structured: MAIN SITE: describes a few products, and you can purchase from this site SECOND SITE, different domain: a blog site that contains personal experiences

with one of the products. BOTH sites will be linked back and forth....or as mentioned maybe the blog site could just link over to the 'main site' Logo would be a modified version of the main logo and look and feel of the sight would be similar but not exactly the same. MORE INFO: the main site has existed for way over 10 years, starting to gain some traction in an extremely competitive market, but does not rank super high, is gaining traction due to improvements in speed, content, onpage SEO, etc... So in addition to my main question of is this 'ok' to have this second domain, also will it hurt the rankings or negatively affect the 'main' site, will we have duplicate content issues? ** If this is not the right place to ask this then where should I be asking?

Solved Duplicate content error affecting 142 pages
Hello,
Product Support | | EISMarketing
Recently I noticed a new duplicate error notification.
This page: https://www.earley.com/insights/internet-things-and-product-data
is flagged as 'duplicate content' with 142 affected pages.
Here's an example of one of the affected pages:
https://www.earley.com/insights/how-ontologies-drive-digital-transformation
This is not an ecommerce site. The affected pages are blog posts. We are pretty prolific writers and over the years we have produced nearly 300 articles. We are a consulting firm and the articles are about our area of expertise and cover a wide range of topics within that space.
I just don't understand why this would be flagged as duplicate or what I'm supposed to do with this information!
Help!
Thanks!

Site is generating long path URLs
Hi, We've seen recently in Search Console Coverage report that website is generating long path URLs that we actually don't have.

Tags, Categories, & Duplicate Content
Looking for some advice on a duplicate content issue that we're having that definitely isn't unique to us. See, we are allowing all our tag and category pages, as well as our blog pagination be indexed and followed, but Moz is detecting that all as duplicate content, which is obvious since it is the same content that is on our blog posts. We've decided in the past to keep these pages the way they are as it hasn't seemed to hurt us specifically and we hoped it would help our overall ranking. We haven't seen positive or negative signals either way, just the warnings from Moz. We are wondering if we should noindex these pages and if that could cause a positive change, but we're worried it might cause a big negative change as well. Have you confronted this issue? What did you decide and what were the results? Thanks in advance!

Headers & Footers Count As Duplicate Content
I've read a lot of information about duplicate content across web pages and was interested in finding out about how that affected the header and footer of a website. A lot of my pages have a good amount of content, but there are some shorter articles on my website. Since my website has a header, footer, and sidebar that are static, could that hurt my ranking? My only concern is that sometimes there's more content in the header/footer/sidebar than the article itself since I have an extensive amount of navigation. Is there a way to define to Google what the header and footer is so that they don't consider it to be duplicate content?

Avoiding Cannibalism and Duplication with content
Hi, For the example I will use a computers e-commerce store... I'm working on creating guides for the store -
Technical SEO | | BeytzNet
How to choose a laptop
How to choose a desktop I believe that each guide will be great on its own and that it answers a specific question (meaning that someone looking for a laptop will search specifically laptop info and the same goes for desktop). This is why I didn't creating a "How to choose a computer" guide. I also want each guide to have all information and not to start sending the user to secondary pages in order to fill in missing info. However, even though there are several details that are different between the laptops and desktops, like importance of weight, screen size etc., a lot of things the checklist (like deciding on how much memory is needed, graphic card, core etc.) are the same. Please advise on how to pursue it. Should I just write two guides and make sure that the same duplicated content ideas are simply written in a different way?0
