Use tools like Google Search Console or third-party backlink analysis tools to identify toxic or spammy backlinks. Disavow harmful backlinks by submitting a disavow file through Google Search Console. If went know more this about read this articel: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-score

@offilery I have the same issue with UK49s Predictions for Today
. I've gone through every post on my site and removed any links to non-reputable websites. However, it still remains at 10%. I'm not even sure how often they rescan the website and update their records because nothing has really changed in over a year, despite my efforts.

@offilery <<<< Hello. The BEST WAY to lower the spam score is to simply STOP SPAMMING and focus on building real links.

It would seem you have no issue and you are only here to SPAM links.

Are you aware that links from the MOZ forum has NO EFFECT on rankings due to being forum nofollow links?

I'm encountering a similar problem with my website, prayerfulsoul.com. Despite diligently removing any links to non-reputable sites from every post, the spam score remains at 10%. I'm uncertain about the frequency of rescans and record updates, as there hasn't been a noticeable change in over a year despite my continuous efforts.

I am using bynext.com and its spam score was 20 but after work on good and high DA backlink and my sites spam score going to improve.

Reducing the spam score of a website is essential for maintaining a good online reputation and search engine rankings. Here are some effective ways to reduce the spam score of your website:

                                                        Regularly Monitor and Audit Backlinks:

Identify and disavow toxic backlinks using tools like Google Search Console and third-party backlink analysis tools.
Regularly audit your backlink profile to ensure it remains clean and free of spammy links.
                                                        Quality Content:

Create high-quality, valuable content that is relevant to your audience.
Avoid duplicate content and ensure that your website provides unique and useful information.
                                                        Update Software and Plugins:

Keep your website's software, CMS (Content Management System), and plugins up-to-date to prevent vulnerabilities that spammers may exploit.
                                                        Use CAPTCHA and Form Validation:

                                                                  Quality Content:
Ensure your website offers high-quality, relevant content. Regularly update and refresh your content to engage visitors and discourage spam indicators.

                                                                  Check for Malware:
Regularly scan your website for malware using security tools. Malicious code can contribute to a higher spam score.

                                                                  Backlink Quality:
Monitor and disavow low-quality or suspicious backlinks. Focus on building high-quality, relevant links from reputable sources.

                                                                  User Engagement:
Encourage user engagement through comments and social media. A vibrant online community can signal to search engines that your site is legitimate.

                                                                  Optimize Forms:
If you have forms on your website, implement CAPTCHAs or other anti-spam measures to prevent automated submissions.

                                                                  Email Authentication:
Ensure proper email authentication (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC). This helps prevent email spoofing and phishing attempts associated with spam.

                                                                  Secure Hosting:

                                                                  Monitor Google Search Console:

As of my experience in SEO first of all it's better to get the full list of backlinks that are associated to your website, whether they are do-follow or no-follow or any other type of link. Then analyze the domain they are connected to and check the relevancy of the domain with your website, on top of that you can segregate the domains having higher spam score and low DA, these domains are affecting your domain the most. Then after making a proper analysis from the data of your website's backlink you'll get a clear image of which links are harming your website and then disavow these links and domain from Google Search Console.

                                                                      Hope this will help you.

If you think about it, it is very rare that big websites have a number like 2 or 9 in their domain name. Another reason is the number of high SS sites linking to yours.

Here are some general strategies to help you improve your website's reputation and lower its spam score:

                                                                            Quality Content:

Ensure that your website provides high-quality, relevant, and original content. Avoid duplicate content, keyword stuffing, and any other practices that may be flagged as spam.
                                                                            User Engagement:

Encourage user engagement on your site through comments, reviews, and social media shares. A website with active user participation is often considered more trustworthy.
                                                                            Backlink Quality:

Evaluate your backlinks and disavow any links from low-quality or suspicious websites. Focus on building high-quality, relevant backlinks from reputable sources.
                                                                            Security Measures:

Implement robust security measures to protect your website from malware, hacking, and other security threats. Regularly update your software and use secure hosting.
                                                                            Optimize On-Page SEO:

Ensure your on-page SEO elements are optimized. This includes proper meta tags, headings, and a clear site structure. Avoid hidden text, cloaking, or any techniques that manipulate search engines.

1 Reply Last reply Reply Quote 0

                                                                              Fix Technical Issues:

Fix broken links on your website.
                                                                              Make your website load faster.

Reducing the spam score of a website involves several steps to improve its credibility and decrease the likelihood of being marked as spam by search engines or email filters. Here are some general suggestions:

                                                                                  1. Quality Content:

                                                                                    • Ensure your website provides valuable and relevant content. High-quality content not only attracts visitors but also improves your website's reputation.
                                                                                  2. Regular Updates:

                                                                                    • Keep your website updated with fresh content. Regular updates show search engines that your site is active and relevant.
                                                                                  3. Check for Malware:

                                                                                    • Regularly scan your website for malware or malicious code. Infected websites often receive higher spam scores. Use security tools to identify and remove any potential threats.
                                                                                  4. Backlink Quality:

                                                                                    • Monitor and audit your backlinks. High-quality, relevant backlinks positively impact your website's credibility. Disavow any spammy or irrelevant links.
                                                                                  5. User Engagement:

                                                                                    • Encourage user engagement on your website. Respond to comments, create interactive elements, and make your site user-friendly. Increased user interaction can positively influence your spam score.
                                                                                  6. Avoid Keyword Stuffing:

                                                                                    • Ensure that your content is written for users and not just for search engines. Avoid excessive use of keywords, as keyword stuffing can lead to a higher spam score.
                                                                                  7. Secure Your Website:

                                                                                    • Implement security measures such as an SSL certificate to encrypt data transmission between the user and the server. A secure website is less likely to be flagged as spam.
                                                                                  8. Optimize Images:

                                                                                    • Compress and optimize images on your website to improve loading times. Slow-loading websites may be penalized by search engines.
                                                                                  9. Check for Blacklisting:

                                                                                    • Regularly check if your domain or IP address is blacklisted. Being on a blacklist can significantly impact your spam score.
                                                                                  10. Use Clean Code:

                                                                                    • Ensure your website's HTML code is clean and follows best practices. Messy or outdated code can affect your site's performance and credibility.
                                                                                  11. Monitor Social Media Presence:

                                                                                    • Maintain an active and positive social media presence. Social signals can influence your website's reputation.

Remember that reducing a spam score is an ongoing process, and it may take some time for the changes to reflect. Regularly monitor your website's performance and make adjustments as needed.

The spam score increases if the links are from only a few domains. This means that the site has low link diversity, thus increasing its chances of being flagged as a spammy website. You can always avoid this by ensuring that all your links are connected to similar numbers of domains.

We have had dead backlinks for over 3-4 years, and I have contacted moz to somehow update the link profile, in addition to this, we also see links from other domains, links that have nothing to do with this site.
In revenge for being criticized, the people from moz lowered our authority, they increased the spam score from 17% to 28%, after a recontact or annoyed and within 7 days they increased the spam score to 81%. they updated to 28% on 01/12/2023 and the second manually imposed out of revenge on 07/12/2023. whenever they were contacted, they responded brutally. that it is a spam score because it has the digit field in it. I explained that the domain has numbers in it for over 7 years and there were no problems. These scores only appear on moz, imposed manually. but it denigrates.
In addition to this, as a difficult answer, it does not solve anything. I have given similar sites with numbers in the field, sites without linked in, without Google tag, without mail, etc. I don't care, it's their error.
I arrogantly tell you to read the spam signal writings. I've been reading them for 15 years, even if they're aberrant, they can't even explain how something like this happened within a few days, 2 changes. such obscenity on the part of an employee, you see.
If you show them that they were wrong, they will take revenge.
we have a link on a site that is still being seen by moz.
the problem is that that site has not been working for 4-5 years. if you tell them this, they arrogantly answer that if the crewlers see it, it means it exists. even if it doesn't exist. I made a profile of links to my website of over 100 pieces with a minimum of 50, and within 6 months, one of the 100 appeared on moz. that's how well their systems went, otherwise those links from google and the rest of the seo companies are seen. Attention, moz is no longer reliable, does not update regularly, does not accept complaints. I don't care if it denigrates or discriminates. even if it's their fault!
It seems strange to them too and a manager will do checks, it has not yet happened that a manager takes into account such a thing. and wait 3 months until it is updated. the one that is an aberration because if it is installed manually, it will have a brake, it will not be updated even in 6 months. there are still cases on the moz, so don't expect miracles from the moz employees because some are arrogant and unprepared.
It is important to immediately report Google and other companies to show them the error committed by moz. so that they can check it quickly so that they don't get caught up in having problems.
The fake spam score from moz does not affect your seo at all. but it affects the image that many are looking for yes.
Probably those at al moz will censor this topic.
Check your backlinks and check when the sites you have links to no longer exist and you will notice that moz does not update them at all, you will have broken links for 1-2 years and moz sees them continuously even if they do not exist, if you write to tell them that those links do not exist, they will get angry that you are consuming their time and will attack you with manual metrics.
to update twice in the same month and from the 28th to the 81st is abnormal.

1 Reply Last reply Reply Quote 0

Hi All I am running a website, I have been using Moz since Feb 2021. Kindly go through these pics My question is why Moz is showing 2K plus backlinks while Google search console is showing just 1253 backlinks. Why fewer links in the google search console is less? How can I increase Google search console backlinks? Also, Moz is showing 90+ DA backlinks but those websites are not showing by the Google search console. What should I do to let google consider them? m0JGjBQ.jpg Cmp8ei3.png

From my understanding there's still connection set between websites bit no negative impact on my SEO profile. Am I right? Thanks for all opinions.

I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim

I was wondering if backlinks from foreign language webistes can help me in ranking? For example: I ve got website in slovak language and I would place article with backlink on the foreign language website.  In which language should be the text surrounding the keyword?

I mean, it is free adding the url in the directory but if they lwant to be in the directory they have to ink to a website we have decided.

What's your take on this?
