Slug redirect to existing subdomain?
-
Hi everyone, I'm Levi, new here and new in the world of SEO so please don't judge if my question is silly.
Back on the days when my website was built we tought of having subdomains to help with SEO. We have a couple subdomains set up https://stansted.tonorwich.uk, https://heathrow.tonorwich.uk, https://gatwick.tonorwich.uk, https://luton.tonorwich.uk etc .
We do have some content on these, but from seo perspective creating a slug and redirecting it to the subdomains would be beneficial? Would it make any difference at all, good or bad?Ex. Creating
https://tonorwich.uk/taxi-minibus-tofrom-stansted and redirecting it to https://stansted.tonorwich.uk
Will this help or we better create different content on the slugs?Waiting for your opinions.
Thanks in advance. -
@Leviiii Redirect slug to subdomain? Maybe helpful, but only if:
Subdomain has unique content related to slug keyword.
Redirect is for SEO benefit, not just every page.
You track results and adjust if needed.
Otherwise, just link directly from main domain for easier management.

slug Link redirect to subdomain?
Hi !
Link Building | | Leviiii
Im Levi new here and new in the world of SEO, please dont judge if my questions are silly. Back on the days when the site was built we thought it is a good ideea to have subdomains that together with the domain name represent our main keywords.
ex. https://stansted.tonorwich.uk, https://heathrow.tonorwich.uk, https://luton.tonorwich.uk, https://gatwick.tonorwich.uk. There is content on this subdomains, would it make any difference from SEO perspective if we create slugs that redirect to these subdomains? for example creating https://tonorwich.uk/taxi-minibus-vip-tesla-norwich-to-stansted that redirects to https://stansted.tonorwich.uk ? Or better create these slugs with slightly different content?
Any ideeas would be appreciated.

One or multiple backlinks from business profiles?
Hi, When building diverse backlinks to a website it's often possible to place one, or several, links in the business profile on a directory or social platform such as https://www.broadjam.com/Scambler, https://coub.com/scamblermusic, https://issuu.com/scamblermusic or https://soundcloud.com/scambler. Typically I would only add one backlink to these profiles (and that would be to the home page) but I often wonder if I should take the opportunity to add several links to internal pages and blog posts. Am I missing an opportunity to add more backlinks and spread out the link juice, or could multiple backlinks within short profiles be considered spammy? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Unsolved Are links from staff profile pages no longer good for SEO?
Hey there, We run a small site that lists lawyers and we have an opportunity to ask the lawyers to display a 'badge' on their own website's staff page, linked back to the page on our site that they are listed on. Initially I thought this would be good link building (i.e. the lawyer's own staff/profile pages on their website linking to our site where they are listed = a highly relevant link). I was less concerned about the authority of the law firm's sites, though these will range from sometimes low-ish to medium. I just assumed that Google would see the value in the lawyer wanting to link to our site where they are listed. However, our SEO has said that these days Google doesn't give much/any value to these types of links from individual staff pages. His advice was to try and get the badge added to one of their service pages (or their About page) which will be unlikely as the badge is person-specific. I thought I'd ask if this was everyone else's experience regarding Google not valuing links from individual staff pages? Thanks for you help 🙂

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.
Hi,
Link Building | | JIMBO16
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0 -
How does PageRank pass through a backlink on a subdomain vs. subdirectory?
Scenario 1: I earn a link on exampleblog.root.com/example-page/. The DA is 90, but it's a brand new page so PA is 0. Subdomain is also new, zero backlinks. Scenario 2: I earn a link on root.com/example-page/. The DA is 90, PA is still new so 0 for now. My assumption is that PR will flow from the homepage through the subdirectory then ultimately to my domain. If the subdomain doesn't inherit any of the root-level metrics, then should I even be worried about the DA in scenario 1? What are the seo implications between the 2 scenarios?

Best SEO practice to redirect affiliate link
Hello, I got an affiliate program on my website, that redirects the affiliate link to the main site like: site.com/ads/aff_code/ -> site.com/ (The redirect is done using a 301 status code.) On the redirect process the site stores a cookie to track the affiliate sale. Will Google and others SE follow this permanent redirect, transferring the relevance of this affiliate link to my main site? In other words, if an affiliate does something wrong (like spams), does the bad reputation will be transferred to my main site? Is there a better way to do that from a SEO standpoint? Thanks,

Subdomain, Subdirectory or New Site?
Hi, we are currently exploring a new business sideline to our normal business (we are an emergency property & auto locksmith service). Our site has been established since 2005 (ish) - lockcity.co.uk The new sideline will also be another roadside emergency service but has nothing to do with keys/locks. In our marketing, we will be explaining that our new service is a trademark of Lock City, which will help customers understand why a Lock City van will be arriving. It doesn't make sense for us to have another page on the lock city web site to advertise this service, so wondered if you can recommend if I make a sub domain or create a new site? I understand that I am starting again with a new site, so the subdomain seems more favourable at the moment - but will this leak link juice from our existing business? Looking forward to some expert advice! Many thanks Regards, Abi

Redirect a 404 page
Hi We encountered a problem with our site during a migration to a new platform and we lost much of link juice. I have noticed on SEOmoz Open Site explorer that our old urls from the old site still exists and many have high page authority. The urls all redirected currently to a 404 page and it is not possible to retrieve the old information For example this page http://www.featuredeco.co.uk/mall/departmentpage.cfm/FeatureDeco/_71989/1 This has a page authority of 32. Is it possible to retrieve the link juice from these pages and channel it on the Kind regards Paul
