Merging Google+ Pages and Google+ Local - how?
-
A client is one brand with several locations. Previously, we had created a Google+ Page for each location - now we're finding out that we should have created only one brand page with a Local page for each location.
Two questions:
-
Is this correct? Do we create a brand PAGE, with separate LOCAL profiles for each address
-
If yes, is there a way to merge the work that we have already done on the pages to the Local profiles? We don't want to lose the followers and updates that we've made to these pages.
Thanks for the help!

Hi Rachel,
So, for a multi-location local business like your medical practice, you should NOT be attempting to merge with Google+ as it is unsupported. You should simply be creating a local listing through the Google Places for Business Dashboard for each of the physical locations the company runs. Do not merge!
-
I think so?
We're massively confused because of the ambiguity with Google themselves.
Here's our business model: one medical practice brand (like Mayo Clinic), but with locations across the state of Arizona (i.e., Mayo Clinic at Phoenix, Mayo Clinic at Tucson, etc).
So do we need one brand page for Mayo Clinic and then a Mayo Clinic at Phoenix Local Page, a Mayo Clinic at Tucson Local Page, and so on?
So, so confusing. And, we don't see ROI from Google+ like we do from Facebook/Twitter, but feel like we need to be on the Google+ bandwagon anyway.

Hi Rachel,
Unfortunately, this is one of those questions in which terminology confusion can get in the way of a clear answer. Even Google is confused about what they are calling their various products. I'm not totally clear about your business model and your Google products from your description. My advice will be general here:
If your business is truly local (has a name, a physical address, a local phone number and face-to-face transactions with customers) then you are entitled to a single Google Places/Google+ Local page for the business. You should probably not attempt to merge because of the huge problems still surrounding Google's merging situation.
If your business is truly local and has multiple locations, you can create a Google Place page for each location, but should not attempt to merge, as this is unsupported for multi-location businesses.
If your business is not local (doesn't meet the parenthetical criteria I mentioned above) then you can create a simple Google+ page for the brand, rather than attempting to utilize the more local features of the Google.
Does this help?

Client Doesn't Know Google+ Brand Page Manager Login - How to Recover
Hello - I'm working with a client who has a complete Google+ Brand profile setup for their business, but cannot locate the google+ login associated with the management duties of that page. Is there a way to track down or at least to see who the page owner is and their associated email address?

Friends who like same Facebook page not showing correctly
I have a strange thing going on with my Facebook pages. The "friends who also like this page" is showing wrong numbers, just 1 respectively 5. In reality this number must be much higher. When I saw a profile of someone who coincidentally liked both pages, the numbers of friends who also liked those pages said 30 respectively 48. I remembered that a while ago I changed categories of at least one of those pages. So now I just checked that theory and changed the category of one of those pages back: The 1 went up to 26. When going back to the category I have right now, it's back to 1. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this, kind of merge those numbers?

Does adding your google plus page help stop scrapping
I have created a site that has 100 percent original content in my business category. I have written over 100 articles myself that not only to help me rank, but most important to help the use find the right anwser to their search. I didn't farm out not one sentence of any of the content. With that said how do I prevent others from scrapping my site for this info and using it as their own. 1. Is there something to add to each page code wise that will lead them back to my site. 2. Does using the google plus help this situation in that google thinks it's yours and treats the others as duplicate content. 3. I dont mind placing this info on other sites as long as the readers know its mine. Sorry to ask such a noob question but I have spent all my time on the content and really know nothing about the coding side of things. Any help would be great. thanks

Should the Google Plus button be sitewide?
Hi All, We are in the process of adding a Google Plus button to our site (to the header, sitewide) - at http://www.jewelleryoutlet.com.au/ My question is, should the button have behavioural characteristics that apply to the whole site, or only for that page that it is clicked on. Consider these scenarios: A customer clicks on the G+ button from the homepage - they then 'like' that page (our homepage, i.e. our site) A customer clicks on the G+ button from a category page - e.g. http://www.jewelleryoutlet.com.au/cheap-necklaces-s/1818.htm. Because the button is in the header and sitewide, should the customer be 'liking' http://www.jewelleryoutlet.com.au/ or http://www.jewelleryoutlet.com.au/cheap-necklaces-s/1818.htm? We are also adding a Google + button to the item template, e.g. on http://www.jewelleryoutlet.com.au/product-p/jn1003.htmsomewhere above the Add to Cart button. When they press the button in this instance, they are 'liking' only that page (which is how I would want the functionality to work). So my question is to do with point 2 above. Much like a Facebook 'like/fan count' type button that exists in the header of many sites, should the G+ button function the same way? E.g. if we have a count of 10 in the header on the homepage, then there is also a count of 10 sitewide? Or should this reset for every subsequent page that a customer lands on, and by pressing the G+ button on that page, they are 'liking' only that page. Which is better for SEO? Several different +1's to different pages (e.g. from the necklaces, bracelets and earrings category pages for a more natural structure) or several +1's all pointing to the homepage? Any help or suggestions regarding G+ button or the service in general would be much appreciated. Thanks

Are Facebook page updates indexed in Google search?
I seem to remember an update where Google said it was going to include Facebook page updates into Google search, but perhaps that was a deal that fell through? If updates ARE appearing in Gooogle search, how do I troubleshoot a Facebook page where they are not?
