RSS title element too long
-
I'm getting an error of the title element being too long on a few pages. Most of them are super easy fixes however there is one that's not.
On our rss feed I think the titles of each blog are getting concatenated together. Here is the example of the xml:
<title>First Blog title</title>
<title>Second Blog title</title>
When I check using a spider simulator (http://www.feedthebot.com/tools/spider/index.php) it tells me that my title is the actual page title tag. Is this a MOZ error and will it show up on google properly?
The second part I've noticed about the rss feed is that it's reporting too many links in it. Does that matter in this case?
Thanks

Glad it helped.

I've got all proper page titles but wasn't overly concerned with the RSS. Just wanted to make everything as good as I possibly can.
Yes, it was helpful. Thanks.

Hey,
You can ignore the too-much links issues. That is completely normal in Today Websites (javascript, tabs, etc.).
About the too long titles, Google indexes only 70 chars, therefore, if you have longer titles, try cutting them with some script, there are a lot of options online for whatever language you are using to code.
Use that cut function on your RSS generator as well, and make sure the most important part of the title in on the front, as it is actually what users will see while searching.
Hope that helps!

Unsolved 503 Service Unavailable (temporary?) Rogerbot takes a break
A lot of my Moz duties seem to be setting hundreds of issues to ignore because my site was getting crawled while under maintenance. Why can't Rogerbot take a break after running into a few of these and then try again later? Is there an official code for Temporary Service Unavailability that can smart bots pause crawls so that they are not wasting compute, bandwidth, crawl budget and my time?

Solved Refund
Hi I forgot to cancellation my subscription before the trail expired. We are currently at a very nascent stage and do not require the product and can't afford it as well. During such trying times ( COVID, when the business is not doing well at all) we would really appreciate if you can refund the money and help us. Kindly consider. We missed the date by one day. We will be really grateful. Regards, Prachi Joshi

Duplicate Page Title
I am seeing pages show up in my campaign Errors report for Duplicate Page Title. One for example states that this page: https://www.inprocorp.com/AboutInPro/AboutUs/HistoryTimeline/tabid/316/Default.aspx has a duplicate page title as this page: https://www.inprocorp.com/AboutInPro/HistoryTimeline/tabid/316/Default.aspx I have a redirect setup so that if you access page #2, you are redirected to page #1. So how do I get errors like this to drop off my report? Have I not fixed the problem sufficiently for the crawler? Thanks, John

Duplicate Page and Title Content
We applied the tag to our website but Moz still picked up an error in Duplicate Page Content and Duplicate Title for http://www.corpsyn.com/ and http://www.corpsyn.com/index.html after the crawl was completed yesterday. From the forum last week, we tried using the rel=”canonical” tag to tell the Moz crawler that the two pages are the same on purpose but it didn't work. Below is how the code looks on our site up until the rel=”canonical” tag is added: http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Why Is My Title Element Too Long? (> 70 Characters)
I recently launched a new website and according to the Moz Crawl Diagnostics Summary, I have more than 8,000 pages that have Title Elements that are Too Long (>70 Characters). But, when I look at these Page Titles, most of them seem to be (<70 Characters). Examples (with pages linked to the actual website): Collection page // Brooklyn Nets Shirts - Nets T-Shirt, Tees, Tops | Sportiqe Apparel (Moz reports this page title is 92 characters, over by 22) Product page // EA SPORTS Boxing Shirt - Red | Sportiqe Apparel (Moz reports this page title is 73 characters, over by 3 Blog post // 50 Father's Day Gift Ideas For Dad | Sportiqe Apparel (Moz reports this page title is 79 characters, over by 9) Is there a way to verify that the Moz tool is correct, and I'm overlooking that these page titles are indeed >70 characters? Any insight on how to resolve this problem as well? Appreciate any advice or articles that discuss this issue.
