Google Analytics Organic Accuracy?
-
Hi,
On a cool summers day, I was quenching my thirst for SEO Knowledge in the depths of Google analytics, When I stumbled upon a most troublesome sight.
I was Browsing the data inside Acquisition->Keywords->Organic and comparing them to Acquisition->Search Engine Optimization->Landing Pages, to find the results quite questionable..
Since Keywords->Organic measure the visits from the organic results, and Search Engine Optimization->Landing Pages measures the clicks onto one of my landing pages from Google, I assumed they should be the same or very close, (besides Keywords->Organic having visits from other search engines) but they were not the same, as a matter of fact it was telling me that Keywords->Organic visits = 1,474, 27.19% of total(5,422) and Search Engine Optimization->Landing Pages, clicks = 1,548 154.80% of total (1000).
Even worst the Search Engine Optimization -> Queries clicks = 1,123, 160.43% of total(700).
I have been searching, and come up empty handed in the answer so does anyone know why Google is showing me different results and strange numbers that don't make sense?
Any information is greatly appreciated?

Google has stated for a long time that the data they provide is not 100% of the data in all instances. They instead use sampling data for much of their reporting, so that their system can provide rapid data for webmasters. No seriously viable analytics program has ever been able to provide 100% accuracy anyhow - people who block javascript, ad blockers, and several other methods exist for browser and network level blocking. This has always been the case.
As such, its best to only use analytics data (from any source) as a guide to trends only.

How to Analysis which category gives me more revenue from google analytic?
Hello Experts, For Ecommerce site we do have navigation path like Main Category - Subcategory - Products. That means Men as Main Category and then subcategory Cloths, shoes, bags then product in each subcategory. After implementing enhance ecommerce https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/enhanced-ecommerce#product-clicks I am getting this report - "Product Category (Enhanced E-commerce)" in Product Performance section. Now my query is my all products are linked with sub category i.e. cloths, shoes, bags etc so in Product Category (Enhanced E-commerce) I can see Revenue, transaction related to Cloths, shoes, bags etc but how to judge performance of Main categories like Men, Women, Children etc? Because google works with this method i think - name': productObj.name, // Name or ID is required.

Google Analytics Average Position
I'm looking at Google Analytics -> Acquisition -> Search Engine Optimization -> Queries reports. I'm looking at keywords and the average position. What Google reports and what I see in a Google incognito search is different (usually my search is much lower). For example, for one search term, Google reports 5.8 average position and every time I search it is 8. My local result is 4. Anyone know why this is? I'm wondering if Google is averaging the Local results into number?

Universal Analytics: Why does Google Organic appear as Direct traffic?
Hi there, When I enter the site via Google Search and follow myself via Real-Time Analytics I appear an organic visitor (which is good). When I browse and visit the site I still am an organic visitor. However, as soon as I fill in the contact form (gravity forms) and land on the "thank you page" I appear as a direct visitor with Google as the source. Since I have the thank you page set-up as a goal, Analytics incorrectly attributes these conversions to the direct medium instead of the organic medium. The tracking code has been installed on all the pages and all conversions are being recorded. What is going on?

Where does the organic keyword information come from in Google Analytics?
I know that Google switch to all encrypted search, but I still show some keywords. Are those keywords that slipped through? Or are they all from Yahoo/Bing?

What's the problem with this code for Google Analytics
Hello, I'm using this code in my thank you page to track ecommerce sales in GA. The problem that I'm having is that in the google event the _trackPageview doesn't register the proper page but puts the url of the ecommerce website. The transaction is properly tracked. Any ideas of what could be the issue looking at this code? Maybe there could be other code could be causing the problem? Thanks a lot.

Google Analytics Goal Tracking Head Match w/ Query Strings
Hello, I have what should be a simple question here but there is a small nuisance I am trying to make sure I have configured correctly. We have a product based website w/ no e-commerce because they sell through a dealer network. All these product pages have "Where to Buy" links and the URL after you click where to buy always uses the query string ?r=XXX. Example: www.mysite.com/product/category/subcategory/product-name?r=12345 I want to setup a goal in GA with a URL and configure head match on the "?r" but which of the following is exactly how it should be configured with the "Goal URL" ?r= ?r r= Does it matter, because I had it setup as "?r" and it was never registering any goals. Do I need to leave off the "?" and just have it be r= Thanks in advance for the respones.

Transferring Google analytics accounts
Hi, Does anyone know if you can transfer an Google Analytics account. We are looking to take over a new clients existing website and the analytics account is registered to their current web designers. Is it possible to transfer it to the client so that their existing web company no longer has access and they keep all their historical data, or do we have to start from scratch. Thanks Fraser
