Google Maps Help

Hello,
I'm helping 2 clients with Google Maps
Client 1
Has 4 Locations, I claimed all 4 but when searching his name only 3 are showing up on the first page.
All 4 show up when clicking on "More results"Client 2
Has 3 Locations, all of them were claimed by another company 1 year ago. But now I cant re-claim them unless the other company releases them but that wont be easy. Any suggestions? Also, when dealing with multiple locations is it better to have 1 email address for all or 1 email for each?
Thanks

Oliver,
I am not sure what your question is re client 1, it sounds as if, currently, their fourth location is not on page one and there may be a bit of work to do on it to get it there. As to Client two - DO NOT try to reclaim or create new profiles for them. You will create a problem you and the client do not want to deal with. There is a high likelihood you will create merged listings and cause problems. I am assuming when you say: all of them were claimed by another company 1 year ago. But now I cant re-claim them unless the other company releases them but that wont be easy. you are saying another SEO or Local firm. For us, when we work on client's Local, we do not claim the listing, we claim if for the client and give them the passwords we set up for them. For a company to try and hold that is, IMO, unethical. (Assuming they have no contractual reason for same.) Any discomfort from dealing with the other company is nothing compared to dealing with trying to create new listings, etc. (And you are going to need your clients to help pressure them, not you. At least the client is more likely to have success.)
The client with your help can get Google to work with you if they do not have the passwords, but it will be very difficult and time consuming. You really need the passwords and to work to get them from the other firm.
I hope this helps,
Robert

For client 2, are they based in the addresses that is listed on each of the 3 Google profiles? If that is the case, you should be able to claim them by getting Google to send a PIN verification to the post box of each address.
If they are not based in those locations listed, then you perhaps shouldn't worry about claiming them. I would just create new profiles for their new locations.
Whether they have the same or individual email accounts for different locations I personally think does not matter. However, there are some though that will claim its best practice and most valuable to have a different email for each location, just as each should ideally have a different phone number. To be really safe, it does not hurt to therefore have a separate email for each location.

Google listing only appears when I move / zoom in or out of the map
Hi everyone, We are having an issue with this local business. The Google listing isn't immediately appearing on the map. You have to move the map or zoom in and out for the listing to appear. I find this really odd as our competitors - with no reviews and way further in proximity - are appearing with no issues. The listing is only about 4km where I'm doing the search, while competitors with no reviews are about 20km away. We are ranking in the top 5 organically for the search term I used (pool renovations brisbane), but nowhere in local unless the map is moved. When the listing appears, sometimes the pin also looks grey instead of red, while others are red (if that makes sense). On top of this, their organic rankings have also been on a downward trend since June. I'm currently doing a backlink audit to see if it's contributing to the issue. If anyone also has other ideas, could you please let me know? Thanks.

Can having a google business listing harm a company selling services globally?
Hi, We are a SAAS platform offering cloud based solution for educators. We had a google business listing in India and recently added one for US as well. Our keywords rank significantly better in India than in US. Is it a good idea to remove these business listing? Also, what could be other factors that impact GEO SEO rankings for a online company like ours?

Google Places - Remove Completely vs. Permanently Closed?
This is a bit confusing to explain so bear with me please. We have a client that used to have an old law practice with a partner. The site and backlinks were very large and it had a lot of domain authority. It also had a very large citation profile and history. The two lawyers have since split, but there remains multiple Google Places listings out there for the old partnership. We have fixed the one showing the old business practice name, but not the one that he setup for his personal name. One of the biggest hassles is that the old location he setup has his attorney name in the actual listing. The issue is that we cannot close the old listing (we tried this), as it comes up permanently closed when you Google his name. If you search for his new Law Firm, the correct business listing that we have set up will show. The new listing also includes his name and has over 50 five star reviews. We hoped that the large amount of legitimate reviews would get rid of or at least suppress the old listing, but it is not happening. So I am a bit confused as to what to do. If we close the old listing Google shows the red "permanently closed" listing when you Google his name. We cannot update the old listing information to show his new address as then it will compete with the new listing that we setup that shows all the positive reviews. The old listing was not created by us, and the new one was. The new one shows when you search for his Law Firm name in Google, but not for his personal name i.e "NAME HERE ATTORNEY" or "HIS NAME and LOCATION" Interested to hear your thoughts. The only way I can think to fix this is to contact Google directly and see if there is a way to permanently delete the listing from Google maps, but I am not aware that this is possible.

Google Places - Should my category choice be manual keywords or selected from default list
Hi All, I have a carpet cleaner hire business and am new to google places. I have been doing my listing for it but can't seem to work out whether I should choose one of the default choices in the categories and leave it as that (in my case it would be "carpet cleaning services" or should I manually type some keywords as well as this ? So for instance, I choose the default - carpet cleaning services but also manually type in "carpet cleaner hire" , floor scrubber hire etc etc as other categories Any advice or if someone could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. thanks Pete

Google Places category language issue
Hi there! I've recently added a new listing in our Google Places for Business account. When adding the basic info initially, the category suggestions where in English, so I just picked one. We are based in The Netherlands however, so I'd like to use the Dutch categories. When I edit our existing listing, the category suggestions are Dutch. When I edit our new listing, suggestions keep showing in English. Does anyone know how I can change this? I tried to switch language settings in my Google account, but it seems like the categories are just stuck on a certain language once the listing is set up? Thanks for your help!
