Google Analytics Average Position
-
I'm looking at Google Analytics -> Acquisition -> Search Engine Optimization -> Queries reports. I'm looking at keywords and the average position. What Google reports and what I see in a Google incognito search is different (usually my search is much lower). For example, for one search term, Google reports 5.8 average position and every time I search it is 8. My local result is 4. Anyone know why this is? I'm wondering if Google is averaging the Local results into number?

BEST of luck!

Yeah, the Google 'help' documents can sometimes leave one scratching one's head saying 'you what?'
Bet of luck

I didn't even think about images. That makes sense. I did read the Google help document.... but it wasn't matching up with what I was seeing. Thank you

I believe that local results are included, as are image results and any other SERP-type result. Hope that makes sense - the previous poster has explained it pretty well so I shan't go over what he/she already said.

Hi there,
Let me quote Google for this:
-
Average position: The average top position of your site on the search results page for that query.
To calculate average position, we take into account the top ranking URL from your site for a particular query. For example, if Jane’s query returns your site as the #1 and #2 result, and David’s query returns your site in positions #2 and #7, your average top position would be 1.5.

I believe that they do take in consideration also the local results. (but that is my opinion)

How to Analysis which category gives me more revenue from google analytic?
Hello Experts, For Ecommerce site we do have navigation path like Main Category - Subcategory - Products. That means Men as Main Category and then subcategory Cloths, shoes, bags then product in each subcategory. After implementing enhance ecommerce https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/enhanced-ecommerce#product-clicks I am getting this report - "Product Category (Enhanced E-commerce)" in Product Performance section. Now my query is my all products are linked with sub category i.e. cloths, shoes, bags etc so in Product Category (Enhanced E-commerce) I can see Revenue, transaction related to Cloths, shoes, bags etc but how to judge performance of Main categories like Men, Women, Children etc? Because google works with this method i think - name': productObj.name, // Name or ID is required.

How to set goal in Google Analytics that required specific page
So our company has new page that has just implemented (let say "page x" --> not a landing page) and we want to see how many visitors that through "page x " convert into the goal (let say "page y"). If I just make the goal destination like "/page y" the goal number that appear is ALL the visitors who reach "page y" (through or not through "page x"), so how I set the goal setting to only show the visitors who reach "page y" through "page x" ? Thank you

Google Analytics SEO Queries Not Showing
Hi All, This might be a silly question, but for all the properties I monitor in Google Analytics, I'm now showing no data for SEO Queries under Acquisition for the past 6 days. Normally I would expect a few day delay in queries, but nothing for 6 days is somewhat peculiar especially as it was functioning fine prior to November 12th. Does anyone have insight into what might be going on? Thanks! URaNMa3

Regular Expressions in Google Analytics
Hi All I've been struggling to create a regular expression for a Google Analytics goal step that would match the following: ^/specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring/
Reporting & Analytics | | Cabbagefeet
^/specifictextstring/anytextstring/ However I don't want it to match any URLs that end with: /anytextstring**_**phonecall or /phonecall, for example: /specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring**phonecall
/specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring**phonecall
/specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring/phonecall
/specifictextstring/anytextstring/phonecall Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for all contributions.0 -

Google Analytics Goal Funnel Visualization Issue
I've setup a goal funnel but am having an issue when I look at the funnel visualization. It doesn't appear to be recognizing the 1st step of the funnel that I've defined in the goal edit page. The "Property Listing page view" is located at /listings/xxx where xxx is the number of the property. Within the funnel, I've added /listings/*, but when I go to see the funnel visualization, I see 0 counts for this step (even though it clearly shows on the entrance page to the left "/listings/622, etc". I've attached a .pdf with a few images to help make this clearer. Any thoughts? CRD-Funnel.pdf
