I understand Authorship is Dead, but here's a question on the Google+ Profile
-
I guest write for some blogs, as well as several blogs I manage myself.
What is the correct usage of the "Contributor to" field and the "Links" field?
Contributor to: The overall blog itself and;
Links: To individual blog posts themselves?
Or the reverse?
Thank you!

I read this article on Search Engine Land last week about authorship

It contains a lot of great insights about how to navigate the post-google-plus-authorship landscape.

Thanks Richard!

Hi Mikey, I don't really believe authorship is dead, I just think Google have stopped advertising it and their official stance is that it doesn't matter anymore. I still think that it holds a tiny bit of weight somewhere deep within the algorithm. I'm sure they stopped using it purely because the author images in the search results were taking clicks away from the adWords results.
The contributor section in your Google plus profile is used to specify either the exact page you contributed to, or the overall website. It's up to you whether you want to link to the exact page your content is on, or whether you want to specify you contribute to the entire website.
The 'links' section in your profile is just for any links that interest you, not necessarily pages that you have contributed to. The links section is reserved for a few links that can point back to your own sites or any other pages you want people to look at or send link juice to. Hope that helps a little.

Does Google give more ranking weight for Shares for One Social Network over Another.
We are using BuzzSumo to explore the types of content that generate the highest number of shares per article. Does anyone have data to suggest that a share on Google+ carries more ranking weight than a share on Twitter or Facebook, or LinkedIn? We have seen a recent case with one of our client's competitors where they significantly grew their Google+ shares within a relatively short period of time and gained a higher rank for a key search phrase that my client is also targeting. Thank you, Rosemary Brisco

Linkedin question
Hello Mozzers, In April we split our company in two, creating a new company in the process. We updated our Linkedin company page with the new branding etc, but I can't find anywhere we can change the url, which is still the old company trading style name. I've sent a support ticket to Linkedin, but I don't expect an answer all that fast so was wondering if any of you had experience with this problem and could point me in the right direction? Thank you so much! Amelia

How are Google Plus pages related to Google Plus Local pages?
How are Google Plus pages related to Google Plus Local pages and what is the best way to join/link them? e.g. if I go to Starbucks Google Plus page https://plus.google.com/117575809843355974839/posts, where can I see their store locations or google Places pages? If I go to a Google Places page from Google Maps - which now takes you to a Google Plus 'Places' page - how is that Google Plus Places page related to that companies main Google Plus page - I can't see a way to go between them. See: https://plus.google.com/117861970252906134982/about?gl=au&hl=en Is there a way to connect these two kinds of pages for a business?

Open Graph Tags Being Spidered By Google?
Do Facebook Open Graph tags get spidered by Google? I have a site I'm looking at and they've implemented these tags on the entire site, but with the same title and description on every page. I'm assuming if you use these tags, give each page their own unique tags. But do these have an effect on rankings at all? Does googlebot see them and take them into account?
