Schema Question
-
I had ratings stars appearing on my site and recently started using the sale event schema, but the two won't show up at the same time, so the rating stars have now disappeared and have been replaced by sale event data.
When looking around for more info I found the attached example which shows both appearing at the same time - however upon trying to replicate this myself with that same site I can't get both to appear.
Does anyone know if it's possible for both schema data properties to appear in the results at the same time?

Hi Martjin,
Thank you for your response,
This is strange, I haven't tried this yet but I've used Google.nl and found competitors to the site in the example who are using the same setup with votes, but the only one I see that has both the ratings and the offers in their listing is using the regular reviews correctly (attached).
I can't see what they're doing that is out of the ordinary - I'm currently using the exact same schema data, but the only difference being I'm using JSON for the whole setup while they're using microdata for the ratings and JSON for the offers.
Can you spot anything on this example that's out of the ordinary?

Hi,
Have you tested with the different markups for the Review? It seems in this case they're using the type: votes instead of the regular reviews. That's a substantial difference and as far as I remember is influencing how your reviews are being shown in the search results.
Martijn.

What schema markup to add to case study?
What would be the best schema markup to add to a case study? I am somewhere between choosing an 'article' or a 'review'. A review is not really right though, because it's not a customer leaving feedback, it's the company's take on their performance. Any opinions?

Keyword Stuffing Question
Say your on a e-commerce category page "Shirts" every lower level category has "shirts" in it such as: T-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt, v-neck shirt, and so on. Is this page going to be penalized in google for the keyword "shirts" just because it is in the title and on the page a thousand times because i'm targetting words like "long sleeve shirt? and if it is, will the "long sleeve shirt" keyword be negatively affected as well? Answer much appreciated,

Opening Hours Schema.org
My client has their opening hours displayed on the right hand side of their website. Can anyone help provide an example of how I can wrap opening hours schema around this? Please bear in mind the opening hours is the only thing I want to be visible on the page. Thanks

Site restructure question
Our site was deigned years ago to target customers in specific cities, now we've grown beyond this and I believe it is time to change the site structure.
On-Page Optimization | | PM_Academy
Ignore the 302 from the root page. Current structure: (assuming you've never been to our site before) projectmanagementacademy.net 302->/select-location.php /select-location.php -> /city-name/pmp-training.php This page was meant to be a "homepage" for each city, pointless page really /city-name/pmp-training.php -> /ciy-name/product-name.php These pages are for each individual product My suggested site structure: /city-name/pmp-training.php becomes projectmanagementacademy.net no more redirect /city-name/pmp-training.php gets removed and 301 to root page. /product-name.php each product's page and you would select a location when necessary (some products are online only) would 301 each /city-name/product-name to corresponding product page /product-name/city-name.php could add these pages if we still wanted the city name in url for city specific products My thoughts here are /product-name.php would receive a higher % of link juice because there are fewer page between 2 vs 4 if you came to the root page. and 2 vs 3 if you came from the select-location page. Also instead of being split between over 50 locations, all these would be together on one page. Your thoughts? Would this change improve our SERP for those product pages? Would we see a drop off in traffic if we did this? How long, if done correctly, would it take to see the recovery of rankings and traffic? Could we 301 /select-location.php to the root page? Thanks in advance for your insights to this. Any answer is a good answer. Trenton0 -

Internal Linking Question(s)
Is it unwise to link internally to a page more than once on the homepage. I am reading that it is considered spammy. I am also reading that it passes PR twice to the internal page instead of just once... Which is it? Is there a way to stop passing PR to the "contact us" page. I watched an older video that Matt Cutts suggested a nofollow. Now I read that this strategy is a no no? Which is it? Thanks! 🙂
