Schema Question
-
I had ratings stars appearing on my site and recently started using the sale event schema, but the two won't show up at the same time, so the rating stars have now disappeared and have been replaced by sale event data.
When looking around for more info I found the attached example which shows both appearing at the same time - however upon trying to replicate this myself with that same site I can't get both to appear.
Does anyone know if it's possible for both schema data properties to appear in the results at the same time?

Hi Martjin,
Thank you for your response,
This is strange, I haven't tried this yet but I've used Google.nl and found competitors to the site in the example who are using the same setup with votes, but the only one I see that has both the ratings and the offers in their listing is using the regular reviews correctly (attached).
I can't see what they're doing that is out of the ordinary - I'm currently using the exact same schema data, but the only difference being I'm using JSON for the whole setup while they're using microdata for the ratings and JSON for the offers.
Can you spot anything on this example that's out of the ordinary?

Hi,
Have you tested with the different markups for the Review? It seems in this case they're using the type: votes instead of the regular reviews. That's a substantial difference and as far as I remember is influencing how your reviews are being shown in the search results.
Martijn.

Schema.org usage when there is no specific value available
Hi, I have a question on the usage of schema structure for reviews and especially for the “description” part. Most of the reviews have feedback included, which is used as “description” in the schema. But what should be done if there is no feedback thus no “description” available? Leave “description” in the schema, without value ("description": "",) or remove “description” from the schema? André

Image Titles and Descriptions Question
Hello, I have a question about optimizing the SEO on my pages through image titles and descriptions. There are a few times on my website that I use the same image on multiple pages. I am under the impression that giving it a title such as "social-media-marketing-agency-graphic.jpg" will help the SEO for the phrase "social media marketing agency" on that page. My question was, if I want to use the same image on multiple pages, am I better off uploading an entirely new image with a new title to make it more relevant to the new page? Or will this not make large enough of a difference? Or is there an easier solution? Please let me know your thoughts on how to best optimize the pages

A question on cached pages
Hi all. I have been testing different ways of writing the text on the homepage of the website www document-management-solutions co.uk because we are ranking very low for the keyword Document Management Software. I've recently learnt about pages being 'cached' and wanted to just clarify something. The last time the page was cached was on 26th March. I have made changed to the homepage since then and wanted to see how it has affected our ranking. Will I not be able to know if it has had a positive/negative effect until the next time our page is cached? Thanks

Schema business address - can this affect me in the national rankings
Looking at using Schema microdata on our new website, we currently rank quite decently in Google UK. If I was to add schema mark up for our business address could this effect us in Google UK rankings wise i.e. our rankings for national search (for want of a better word!) suffer but our local rankings increase?

Website title question
Say you have a website url of a rather competitive keyword phrase, would it be beneficial for me to go ahead and name my site title the same as the url? And also should my site title go through every page, or should i consider having slight variations throughout the pages? for example: page title | site title or page title| slight varation of title on sub page? **edit - to further expand on the question a bit also, if my google places has the company name on _there - would it be effective to go ahead and use the company name in my site title? _ _Also if i have the main keyword in the breadcrumb as the home, does that effect my SEO credibility if it shows up on all the pages? _

Schema.org for real estate portal
I am looking for advise on how to best start adopting schema.org for a real estate portal. Would like to get feedback and suggestions on my initial thoughts. Here are the obvious ones: 1. http://www.schema.org/RealEstateAgent(Thing > Organization > LocalBusiness > RealEstateAgent) Plan to use this to wrap realtors' information. We ll start with their profile page but possibly also on other pages with their information (e.g. listing page) 2. http://www.schema.org/SearchResultsPage(Thing > CreativeWork > WebPage > SearchResultsPage) This will mark search results pages where e.g. multiple listings of certain type in certain area are presented. 3. http://schema.org/WebPage(Thing > CreativeWork > WebPage) Pretty generic so we are thinking of using it on every page. e.g. significantLinks and breadcrumb objects seem like they could help in marking important links that will help search engines understand the site's information architecture better. I am not sure how to treat property listings Offer seems a good fit (http://www.schema.org/Offer) but not perfect. maybe it should be combined with place (http://www.schema.org/Place) http://www.schema.org/GeoCoordinates could also be used to mark each listing's location on the map. any thoughts or experiences you would like to share?
