Drupal SEO Issues
-
Hi, I have two questions regarding my enterprise website. It is built on the Drupal CMS.
First, and in looking at Google Analytics, I'm seeing more than 6k pages listed, but over 5k have received less than 10 page views in six months. In fact, most of them are not really content pages at all.
The URLs I'm seeing listed, which to me indicates actual crawlable content in GA, shows pages like this:
http://www.domainname.com/node/2153
http://www.domainname.com/company/careers?gnk=apply&gni=8a87142e4d086a73014d2a0d65242b8e&gns=glassdoor+free
http://www.domainname.com/blog?page=1
http://www.domainname.com/resources/videos?field_video_category_value=all&page=4&page=1
http://www.domainname.com/search/site?search_api_views_fulltext=talent+poolWhat is the problem here? Why are these non-pages being indexed as content and why are they showing up in GA?
Second question is about my blog and blog best practices. While I know blog content is important for SEO, why is my site blog pagination being indexed as content. For example, these "pages" are showing up in SERPs:
http://www.domainname.com/blog/tag/business_intelligence?page=2
http://www.domainname.com/blog/topic/expansion?page=5
http://www.domainname.com/blog/weeks_news_april_26What is the best way to fix this?
Thanks in advance for your help!

So Google Analytics sends information based on what users are doing, so if you see those pages in Google Analytics that means that people have gone to them. What your question really tells me is that you do not have a good understanding of how your website functions and how Google Analytics records data, I would recommend you take some time and go through Google Analytic's Academy, it will really help you understand what the data means and how to interpret it based on how it is gathered.

For your blog question, if you are using wordpress you can tell it to not index large swaths of the procedurally generated pages in the site settings.

SEO Keyword Research
Is there a way to insert Google API into Excel? I want to have a search volume column that would automatically fill out with query Another question is that I have a list of keywords in one column in Excel with another column that have search volume. I then go and do some research on keyword groups with a grouping tool but if this tool doesn't find a group for a keyword it removes it. So then when I want to copy and past keywords and match keyword columns in excel that already exist with search volume I have to do it manually because some rows are missing. Is there a way this could be done automatically so that when I paste it in the column with keywords it automatically finds that the current column exists and adds a group column ?

Google Analytics SEO Queries Not Showing
Hi All, This might be a silly question, but for all the properties I monitor in Google Analytics, I'm now showing no data for SEO Queries under Acquisition for the past 6 days. Normally I would expect a few day delay in queries, but nothing for 6 days is somewhat peculiar especially as it was functioning fine prior to November 12th. Does anyone have insight into what might be going on? Thanks! URaNMa3

Any issues with Google impressions dropping in Webmaster Tools?
I'm seeing a drop in impressions across all my websites that are hosted at a certain location. Just wanted to make sure that it is not some reporting issue that others are seeing.

Does Google encryption of keyword data impact SEO revenue reporting in Google analytics?
Hi there, I know Google has been encrypting SEO keyword data which they rolled out in September 2013. My question is - will this impact SEO revenue figures reported in Google analytics? I have been monitoring SEO revenue figures for a client and they are significantly down even though rankings have not lowered. Is this because of Google's encryption? Could there be another reason? Many thanks!

2 questions on avoiding issues with Google and while being right in it.
Hi SEOmoz community In fact I have two questions I would like to ask (with future SEO in mind). Do you consider a WordPress Multisite or various Single installs 'safer' for SEO? Theoretically, having various sites packed into one Multisite network seems like an ideal solution. However, is there a chance that once a site in the network encounters a little 'negative turbulence', that your other sites in the network might get impacted too due to the cross-referencing, linked account i.e. Webmaster Tools etc.? It would seem outrageous, but then again I wouldn't rule it out. Do I even have to go as far as setting up new Gmail, Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools accounts, so they (the sites) are technically not linked? You can see, I don't trust search engines one bit... Is there still a point posting articles once Google is having a hissy fit with your site? Basically I am currently going through a 'rankings and traffic drops storm'. It's not as bad as being de-indexed, but it's still having enough of an impact. In addition, Google does not seem to treat my new articles (unique content) with the same attention anymore i.e. does not seem to index them 'fully' or not at all (i.e. posting the headline in Google should return the article, but it doesn't). Is there even a point spending time now and posting new material or may it pick it up again once I am through this low phase? Does Google still index what it considers worth or is it a waste of time right now to keep posting, posting and posting more? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
