Following on LinkedIn & Liking on Facebook, Will it Facilitate Advertising to a Specific Target Market?
-
My commercial real estate brokerage ie firm is targeting very specific lists of businesses. We send them emails regarding specific properties. For instance email to partners in law firms with 1-10 employees in the 10017 zip code. Response from email has been maybe a decent customer for every 1,500 emails. But it is inexpensive.
We would like to try to reinforce and enhance the results by perhaps using social media tools such as LinkedIn and Facebook.
Would it help us eventually advertise to our very specific segments if we Facebook like the individuals we are targeting? We would like both the individuals and the company pages. Any utility to this? We would also follow the individuals on LinkedIn.
In a perfect world we could advertise posts of below market, especially desirable properties to our target market; the same people we are emailing to on a regular basis. We are generating the emails through a CRM called "ZOHO" which we find very useful.
Is it worthwhile to add a social media element to our marketing effort? While the email has been very inexpensive and shows signs or being effective, the amount of effort to compile the lists and set up ZOHO was monumental.
Looking forward to feedback, thanks everyone!!!

Will Landing Page Design with Large Areas of White Background Enjoy a Higher Conversion Rate?
My designer has created a landing page with a dark background. Text is white and other colors. Does a dark background impact the conversion rate? Is it better to have a white background? I am concerned that a dark background may distract visitors. The landing page is: http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/MidtownLawOfficeSublet3300SFBelowMarket We plan on using this landing page for LinkedIn advertising. Thanks!!

Will hreflang indication help single language site?
I have read a few articles that say indicating a language per webpage with hreflang really only helps sites that use multiple languages. Although my site is only in English, I see that it is ranking for a few foreign language keywords in Google Search Console (not sure exact traffic but roughly 15% of visitors from Search are non English preferred). My thought is that indicating language will help my single-language site because it will weed out the non-english speakers who are probably bouncing from the site. Overall I am thinking it might improve the quality of my search traffic. Do you think my logic is sound, or is adding hreflang not beneficial to my site? All feedback welcomed. Thanks!

Web Overlays - Region Specific Offers - SEO Implemention & Considerations
Hi all, I'm currently considering implementing some overlays on a site. They're likely to be time-specific (so running only on certain hours and days), visitors will only see it once and content will also be slightly different based upon the region of the visitor (US, Non-US). They will be marketing-based messages tailored to the visitor based on where they are visiting from, I was thinking about putting the content of the overlay in an <iframe>and blocking it from being crawled/indexed by bots.<br /><br />Would this approach set-off any alarms with Google in terms of cloaking or any other nasty things? To clarify, they'll be as unobtrusive as possible to the visitor.<br /><br />Based on the above approach, bots will see that an iframe is being called, but with more or less no content - would this be a problem too?<br /><br />Another approach i thought about would be to dynamically serve different images based on the region...<br /><br />Lastly, assuming correct and safe implementation from a technical perspective, as a generality, have people seen better results from capturing exit traffic, timed overlays or when people first land?<br />Any advice appreciated!</p></iframe>

Will adding to a video's length affect my Rich Snippets?
Most people get to the end of my videos, 85% or so, but there's no call to action at the end of them. So I'd like to suggest what they could do or read next; along the lines of 'Add to basket and receive your XYZ tomorrow'. This will make the video longer and therefore google will know it has changed, I guess. I see no reason for them to object to this but you never you.

Improving data tables for Usability & SEO
I have some large html data tables that look horrible (see bottom of http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/surety-bonds/commercial-bonds/auto_dealer_bond.htm). To my surprise, heat map tests actually proved them to be useful in improving our conversion rates to get visitors to apply for the bond they need. We are looking at ways to better the user experience while still keeping the data visible to search spiders. One idea was to use a dropdown list to filter by states. With new web technologies, there must be a better way to utilize this data. What are some alternatives?
