Buttons (not sitelinks) under search results?
-
I have seen several search results in the past have buttons show up under the search results going to pages on the site. Of course now I can't find a concrete example, but they weren't just links, they were actual buttons. I know about the sitelink process (or lack thereof, really), but how does one get the buttons? Is it strictly a paid thing in Google?
-
Do you mean on mobile? If so I have seen the buttons too and wondered how some industries showed these and others did not.

Hi Sbatx,
I have not seen button sitelinks in the serp, but are you sure that they were organic? I have seen pappa Google test out new things like images sitelink extensions in AdWords. Check out this article by Search Engine Land and let me know if that is what you saw.
Cheers,
G

Different number of backlinks (Search console - Majestic)
Hi there, I saw a notable difference between the number of backlinks from ref domains to my website in search console and majestic. I basically have two questions: why such a difference? And which tool gives me the most accurate number between these two? Thank you!

Article linking to my post kicks it from the search results.
Hi I have been trying to get a article to rank on the term: "help your child do well in school" in the Google UK. Now I was doing okay the article went from 43rd to 17th. Until I got mentioned in the huffington post. Then my result disappeared from the listings and the huffington appeared in 35th position. The article I'm trying to rank is: http://www.schoolguide.co.uk/blog/10-proven-ways-to-help-your-child-do-well-at-school The Huffington posts is: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/emilyjane-clark/five-things-that-will-not_b_5693827.html It's really annoying because this is the type of link building I thought Google really wants. Does anyone know why this would happen and any suggestions of how to proceed?

Why do the results in SEOmoz and OSE for Linking Root Domains differ?
In SEOmoz, in a campaign we set up, it shows 600+ Linking Root Domains, but in OSE it shows 300+ Linking Root Domains- quite a difference. Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

How long should does it take before I see SEO results?
I am thinking about launching a website connected to Christmas - which gives me less then 2 months to develop and begin ranking for the site. Is this too short a timeframe and I should put off this plan until next year or can I actually begin ranking for low competitive keywords within my timeframe.

What is a link farm and how are they treated by search engines?
I notice one of my competitors who ranks prominantly has very odd looking backlinks. They come from MANY sites which all contain directories that look identical. Each site contains the exact same directory - only the design of the page is different. There is no theme or focus to the directories - they list everything from pencils to fencing. This competitor has very few links from outside of this directory but again it has MANY links from this directory. So my question is, does this qualify as a "link farm". And then, how do search engines treat "link farms?
